I noticed at work and checked Amazon and Target. Bulletstorm has already officially dropped to $40 permanently. It's not reflected as a sale on anything.

BC sale reminded me that Dark Souls is BC and I've never bought or played the dlc that is supposed to be amazing. Might buy it even though​ not on sale

Well they priced it too high at launch ($59.99), but recognized that and offered an incentive to BB and Amazon (an $8 extra bonus over the Prime/GCU price of $48). So the game was available for $40 at launch for people with those memberships. I pre-ordered for both platforms because I'd love to see a sequel.
 
Just got back from Alien Covenant. Good. Not great, but good. Serviceable bridge between Prometheus and Alien. Still can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

I was playing this game mode on GTA online called Slasher. Basically one guy is the Slasher (has a shotgun) and we are in the pitchblack area and only have flashlights until timer goes down and then you get shotties too. Like how Friday the 13th game gonna be. 

Anyways I was hiding in a room and these two other fucks came in there so now we are stuck in a room. Idiots.

Thing is, Covenant is not meant to bridge Prometheus and the original Alien as there's still an almost 20-year gap in between the events of both films. Also, Ridley Scott stated recently that he's planning to make at least two more movies set after Covenant but before Alien; provided that Covenant doesn't bomb at the box office.

I understand that but it IS supposed to take place between the two. I didn't mean that it actually led up exactly to it. Probably a poor choice of words to use "bridge". But it clearly shows how things that occur help lead up to Alien.

Nope, it is not on sale. I was excited when it came up with the other games on sale but when I clicked to buy the regular price came up. I think the game is worth $10 but I'm a CAG and still waiting for it to drop.

Again, sorry, guys. Blame Microsoft. And yes, it's definitely worth the $10, but I would spend that $10 on 4 $2.50 games from this sale and buy Poker Smash later.
 
More impressions from the BC sale:

Lazy Raiders - a platform game where you use the left analog to move the stage around instead of the main character. A lot like the special stage from the original Sonic the Hedgehog where you collect colored gems. It starts out easy but it gets difficult quickly, so it's not for the easily frustrated. A plus is that you can use your Avatar as the main character if you want.

3D Ultra Minigolf - All golf games are geometry lessons, but this one takes it to the extreme. Zany courses (one hole takes inspiration from Super Mario Galaxy, another is named after an Elton John song), power ups, and the golfing is controlled by the press of a button. I like Tee It Up better, but this one is so weird that I didn't mind that I bought both. However, expect to see more bogeys than Lauren Bacall.

Crystal Quest - It's a slower Robotron with collecting elements. Very methodical. If you like games like Geometry Wars, it's similar but takes a while for the difficulty to ramp up.

Assault Heroes 2 - I like it because it's like the original Grand Theft Auto games' top down perspective with none of the crime stuff and all of the shooting. Proceed in vehicle or on foot and blow up stuff.

Small Arms - It's basically Smash Brothers with no-name characters and guns. If I ever play online against another CAG, this is one that I'd like to try because the AI is terrible.

Commanders: Attack - Similar to Advance Wars because it's a strategy game with tanks.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix - I'm sorry that I bought this one. It's nowhere near as good as the first two. The space setting is neat, but I could never figure out what the hell I was supposed to do. I got my ass whooped on a quick start game because of that, and there's barely a tutorial, but it's match 3 including diagonals. Probably why they dumped that perspective when Gems of War was made.

Scrap Metal - Great top down combat racer. Reminded me of RC Pro Am with guns.

Mutant Storm Empire - Yet another take on Robotron with waves of enemies, bosses, and taking cover. I can never get enough of twin stick shooters, so I like it.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - Great graphics and story. The shooting seems very imprecise to me which is why I replayed a few sections, but very polished for an Xbox Live Arcade game.

Anyway, I promised myself that I would at least try every game that I bought during this sale, so I will probably post more of these soon!

Dude I'll buy the 360 version and the XB1 version if I really like something. i.e. Saints Row IV, Bastion (granted it was free), Limbo, Halo wars etc etc etc

 
I grabbed that Commanders game because Jose said it was like advance Wars. Really need a new turn based strategy game to play. Have beaten both Xcom games, Banner saga games, massive chalice. I have the Breach and Clear game, which can be played as kind of a strategy game or a twin stick shooter hybrid, but it's just not the same. I'm open to any other suggestions too

Military Madness: Nectaris has a good pedigree as an update to the PC Engine (or Turbo-grafx 16) strategy game Military Madness. Hex based strategy instead of grid based but exactly the type of game you're talking about. I haven't played it yet, although I did buy it because Konami/Hudson games rarely go on sale and it is on sale this time. Developed by Backbone Entertainment which I believe is part of Digital Eclipse which makes good updates of retro franchises.

I'm also considering purchasing Anomaly Warzone Earth which is a highly rated tower defense game, but it is tower defense, not turn based strategy.

Is Joust on the Midway compilation? I was considering just buying the compilation since it takes up less than 200 mb of space. Even at $10, it's a good cost to hard drive space proposition. But, I like Joust since it inspired Balloon Fight. ;)

Ummmm.... These are 360 games. How are you missing out on the best of what X1 has to offer? I own 100+ digital games for the X1. I own 150+ BC games already that don't get played because there are 100+ X1 games in front of them. Thats a pretty stupid statement.

I haven't played it yet (just came out yesterday) but I am pretty sure Chroma Squad has the grid-battle system too.

I caught a whiff of sarcasm from his post. But he's at least partially right, because there are some good games on sale here.

 
Saw Alien Covenant and it was alright. Though, I don't know it felt like I had seen this movie before. Meaning the pacing and the lack of surprises just made me feel like I had seen this before. Enough that it made me more curious as to what the Neil Blomkamp movie would've been like in if it would follow the action route of Aliens or what. Plus it would've given me back characters I care about.
