This is just my opinion.... but Phantom Dust is awful.  I know there are people out there who dig the MP/CCG mechanics.... but it's janky as hell.  At least it was free I guess.

I watched a let's play of the first part of Perception, not realizing it was coming to Xbox. Looks pretty interesting. A borderline walking simulator horror game that seems pretty story focused, with a unique visual style as you are a blind person tapping your "cane" around to kind of get some Daredevil vision. It's getting mediocre reviews but seems like it's worth checking out if you like the genre. Apparently it's from some ex-Irrational devs.

It might be short, they finished chapter 1 in about 45 minutes, though I don't know how many chapters are there.

Anyone know when the Fallout 4 free trial is supposed to end? I want to buy it on smartglass, but it doesn't have a purchase option while the free trial is going.

Yea mostly indies during the summer, they used to do a summer special where they advertised like 4 indies and called it summer of something, lol. I believe Bastion was part of it one year. I will be getting Victor Vran, ESO: Morrowind, and Valkyria Revolution before Shadow of War, but that's the game I am most excited for lol.

FWIW, Wildlands DLC is out Tuesday for season pass holders. Next Tuesday for sale to non season pass holders.

I will probably pick it up on PS4 next week. Also happy to see TWD DLC drop on Tuesday so I can finish it.

It's cool. I can understand completely. They up'ed the resolution for the game and made the FPS more stable, but outside of that it's basically the same game from the OG XBox. The people who ported it are wizards considering the code was lost and they had to re-work the online functions to get it 1:1 from the original xbox online functions.

The game is janky yes. But what a lot of people fail to realize is the dash/jump/movement functions are locked behind the cards to balance the game out via schools. Your either going to be pure melee/caster/something else. Unfortunately as the article stated there were a lot of turtling tactics and abuses of certain skills. Thankfully the release did some balances so nothing is too OP.

I really enjoy the game and feel it's quite deep for a PVP game that will attract another strong niche following on X1, but It's exactly that: niche. Hell, I just beat the second to last boss which apparently only .35% of the people who own the game have done so far lol.

I'm just thankful for the service that MS gave to make the game free and the icing on the cake is your basically getting all the skills for free come June 1st. I wonder if they will bring back to Blinx or Brute Force come E3 in the line of XBox classics since I believe at this point we won't see original XBox BC.

I finally got to play some Friday the 13th using the find group method. It's actually pretty fun - played a couple rounds as Jason and a few as counselors. I think the game has potential, but still seems really janky. I did request a refund, but it hasn't been processed yet - not sure how long before they refund me/pull my license. I might rebuy it later if they fix the servers, but no way can I recommend spending $40 for it in it's current state.

Yeah, that's the impression I got from watching some streams. Looks like tons of fun, though. I'm leaving for vacation in a couple of days so if they fix the servers I may take the plunge when I return, or I could just wait for the first sale, hopefully in the next month or two.

Ha. Just read on their facebook page that the xbox one version is likely the beta build rather than a finished version - supposedly significantly downgraded graphics and features from the pc/ps4 versions. I think this game and company are done.
 
Finished Portal Knights normal mode bosses. Played entire game co-op with my wife. Very fun, but UI could use some work and the preorder dlc isn't even useable as it crashes the game when trying to access it.

Surprised the game isn't more popular. Must have missed the block building era.

Not a bad game, but nothing great.
 
So thanks to Microsoft dropping $6 into my account I decided to buy Rise and Shine since it would only cost me a little over $3. I can say that it's a great game, but it's really short. I almost finished it in one sitting (around 2-4hrs). The gameplay is really fun, has great artwork, and has a lot of cameos and references to a bunch of other video games. There is a hard mode after you beat it, and some mini games to add replay value, but I'd say if anyone is on the fence about the game, wait for it to drop to $5.

And of course Happy Memorial Day! Thanks to the fallen soldiers who have helped preserve our freedoms.

Heads up, the Bing Rewards $10 MS gift card for 7000 points expires on Friday 6/2. It comes around pretty often but I plan to cash out 14000 points this time.

I would say there is too many games on demand to worry about sales for a while. So many 360 games I never played, I'm sure they will figure out a way to take my money though :(

No, one portion is co-op, the rest is single player. It adds a pretty decent selection of content and even if you only care about the story stuff I'd say Baba Yaga and Blood Ties make it worth the $7.50

Endurance Mode - A survival mode, gather resources, weapons, and food to avoid starving and freezing. The goal is to survive as long as possible while collecting treasure. It's fun if that premise appeals to you. Two player co-op was added when the 20th Anniversary stuff came out.

Baba Yaga - new area and story for the main campaign. Pretty solid all around, good exploration, combat, and bosses.

Cold Darkness - A recycling of some areas from the base game with a lot of enemies and randomized puzzles, in the frame of a very basic story to shut down a bomb or something. Like endurance mode you have to find supplies, though starving/freezing isn't a threat.

Blood Ties - The big draw of the 20th Anniversary content that was added late last year. Adds a new story section set in Croft Manor, no combat, big focus on puzzles and story. It's pretty good.

The side-modes like Endurance and Cold Darkness have a microtransaction card system associated with them that give you buffs or debuffs to modify score. Most DLCs added some stuff in this aspect, as well as some new weapons, and new costumes that can be used in all modes including the story. 20th Anniversary brought in some nice legacy skins from old games.
