Started considering this the other day and I'm still trying to figure out if the Halo Wars Definitive copy is for XB1 or Windows (is there even a Windows version?) and if it were for Windows then is that play anywhere?

I helped my brother-in-law set up his X1 on Christmas and figure out where the hell things are on the dashboard. When he saw some old 360 games ready to go (including a longtime favorite, Arkanoid) he was pretty excited to carry them forward on his shiny new console. He was like a kid on... okay he was literally a kid on Christmas.

It's literally you learning the ropes, taking command of a ship and giving the option of a universe at your disposal. Yes, this is where the game picks up. If anything fly through the game with a guide, don't skip it! If you don't like dialogue segments than I don't think this is the game for you. ME2 is more action oriented but it still has those dialogue sections, this is a RPG from Bioware after all.

What do you mean? Games to back on Kickstarter? If so there's a whole category for games with sub categories for different types of games. I wouldn't, and don't, do it anymore personally. There's so many more failures than successes, copies of games aren't significantly discounted anymore, and most of the time the ones that are worth getting wind up cheaper and/or in a better package at release or shortly after. Or things just spiral out of control like Torment not coming out for three years or the Dark Souls board game (only thing I've backed since Torment) winds up costing like $30 for shipping.

What Spybreak9 said; if you're not into the story/dialogue by now, you're not going to dig Mass Effect. I would say the same is true of the other two games. While the combat is improved in the sequels, there's still a lot of talking.

Towerfall Ascension is coming to XB1 next week, 1/25. It includes the Dark World DLC, a single player campaign and a co-op campaign.

I never played this on PS4 - or Ouya lolz... does this have online, or is it couch only?

 
Overwatch Year of the Rooster starts the 24th. I'm curious if this will last the full 3 weeks of other events, if so the game will probably roll into a Valentine's event, which I feel like is the last obvious event they have up their sleeve.

No online, which is a real shame. I remember reading the developers say that it wasn't possible because you couldn't have lag of any kind for it to work right/be fun.

It was couch only. No online multiplayer (unless you did the PS4 feature where you shared a controller then you could do online play)

If it's anything like Steamworks games or Blizzard games, and I bet it will be, the DVD's will be there just to facilitate a faster install (vs. just downloading from the internet) and would require the product key to be entered to start the install. After that, the DVD's wouldn't be of much use.

Well, there are 1100 retail games, PLUS 700 XBLA games. I think they'd probably top over 1000, if they keep chipping away indefinitely. Keep in mind the 300 that we just hit is around 2 years of work, 1 year of it as an active program with what sounded like a year or so of original development and testing before it started. At 3 - 8 a week they won't run out of games for quite a while.

Taking out old sports is probably 100ish total, maybe more. All games that require Kinect or accessories is probably another 100. Games that have next gen versions generally won't happen, though we have a few exceptions already. The bulk of games that won't come will probably be from stingy publishers or games that have their rights in limbo.

If anybody wants to do some Horde I'd be down, but I don't have access to these for custom games so I can't host. there is no notification in game yet so I wonder if you get the Gear Packs right away or later one.

Really glad I finally grabbed Tekken 6 dirt cheap at some point. I hope Soul Calibur IV and V are in the pipeline.

Shows the standard 4650 for me. Too bad. I bet that would stack with the "2,107 points for any purchase at the MS store" promo they are also running.

 
I got the email, but it only says 30% off for me (3000 points/$5). And when I click on the link from the email, it doesn't take me to the discounted rate page. Is it because I'm on mobile? Does it have to be from a PC?
 
Never mind, I read it wrong. It says 3500 points, not 3000. Same promo that's been going on for a month now. I don't see a 2500 promo.

Also, does Battlefield 3 come with all DLC?? The file size says 33GB on my xb1.

Weird.

I knew the 3500 point promo has been going on, (as well as the 7000 points for $10). Cashed in on those, and they look to be repeated use ones, as they stay there after redeeming them.

This was a separate one that only worked once, then disappeared once redeemed. I was able to see and redeem it in the Bing app for iOS. Not sure what made it appear for me. It was also shown in my "Monthly Rewards Highlights" email as well.
 
Now that Lost Odyssey, the Mass Effect sequels and Battlefield 3 are available digitally so many years after release, all we need are the Dead Space sequels and Splinter Cell Blacklist to go BC.
