Right but many of those original Sonic games are on the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for 360.

I read that a handful of games on that disc did install on X1 but it was fixed to not do it.

Either way, that collection was awesome and wish it would go BC.
 
Tried to play the Halo Wars 2 beta today. The game won't even launch, it just gives a critical failure dialogue box lol  :rofl:

 
Flock is on sale!!!! No FN way. I've been waiting forever for that one. Ahh it goes against my rule of buying things for my 360 though (to cut down on my backlog accumulation).

Yeah only game I'm getting day one this year is ME: Andromeda, and I used a bunch of GCs to absorb the cost. I'll wait on Zelda and Halo Wars 2. Being a big Microsoft game I'm predicting Halo Wars 2 will be a good deal in a few months after release as they'll want everyone to pay it. It's also chronologically taking place after the events and story of Halo 5 so I'm thinking they'll want everyone to experience it before the inevitable Halo 6 game arrives.

Would anyone recommend Trackmania Turbo? Seems like a cool little brainless game that you can jump in and out of. I really enjoyed Trials Fusion for reference, if they're anything alike. I'll be picking up Trials of the Blood Dragon for sure.

Bloodforge always scares the hell out of me because I borrowed it from my cousin from Oman without asking and I get scared that if I ever launch it, I'd be punished for my actions a few years ago. He had a ton of copies and everybody was borrowing it, but they were all being punished by their parents. They all were no longer allowed to play online with my cousin.


Nice progress on that backlog though! I've scratched off a few games myself in 2017 and have yet to purchase one. This week's sale certainly makes it easy to continue that trend.

Also, I never got the $5 promotional credit for buying Elf last month. I contacted Microsoft support and they said it's been too long and they can't apply the credit nor can they refund the purchase. I guess there's some similarities but they're also very different. It's kind of an odd and very European beast but there's lots of fun to be had if you like arcade racers.

The online multiplayer is big-time dead and that was always the highlight of the series for me on PC. The courses are still fun in single player, but I can only ever find around ~5 online when I log on. I guess it serves as a sampler platter for the PC versions, which are still super active online and a lot of fun.

They have always been PC games up to this point (other than a Wii and DS version I think) and most of the fan base is international so I imagine most of the hardcore base is probably on PC.

Bound by Flame is a half-decent hack n slash / action RPG. Granted I haven't gotten far in it but have it on PS4 and found it enjoyable as long as you keep your expectations relatively low.

I'd say it's worth $5.

Which sonic games are worth getting besides all the 16 bit and Dreamcast ones? I haven't heard of a lot of those.

I couldn't ever really get into sonic adventure on DC.

If you're an achievement hunter it's not great. It's mostly quick time events, way more than any other telltale game, so you have to have quick reactions and maybe follow a guide. The story is good, nothing great. Has some connections to the movie (it takes place at the end of the first movie). I've played most of this type of telltale game and Jurassic Park may be my least favorite but it wasn't bad. It's an easy completion, so if you can I'd buy it from gamestop then return it.

 
Oh man, Sonic the Fighters is pretty jank. Finished max gamerscore in 15 minutes. If it's similar to Virtua Fighter it must be the early ones, or many it's just the extremely low default health or overpowered moves. It does look nice at least.

I missed the Oman Wars fortunately, and naively paid actual money for Bloodforge back in the day. I can't imagine why it got absolutely torched on reviews, as I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

I have beaten 7 games so far this month, and I'm stuck on the last boss on Jotun to make it 8. Have a couple more shorter games I plan on finishing before the month is over to get closer to 10. The crappy X1 sales have made it easy not to buy anything, the only purchase I've made this year was the MUA bundle, but I could honestly spend like $30 on Sonic games this week if I don't use self control. It's also easier when I know I've got stuff pre-ordered that I'm looking forward to in For Honor, HW2, ME, and Yooka Laylee, and if Sea of Thieves gets released this year it's a day 1 for sure too. Was getting RE on my PS4 for VR but don't think my heart can handle it

Sonic Adventure was a big deal when it came out, but both it and its sequel are hard to go back to for me. Sonic Generations, however, is really great, and strikes a great balance between old and new without feeling gimmicky. Really hope it goes BC eventually.

And yes, Sonic Racing Transformed is excellent, I'm considering it at $15 which is saying a lot.
