I looked online for GTA4 Complete pricing. It was $15 at Gamestop around noon. Just refreshed the page, it's $35 fucking dollars now. I know they're greedy but damn.

EDIT: ordered a 'link new' copy off Amazon for $4.80 shipped. I don't care much about the DLC episodes, they didn't do much for me ~7 years ago but the original game will be fun to revisit.

I do agree with you that we are more likely to see a BO2 Remaster before we see the game go BC because numbers with dollar signs in front of them. But let's not pretend that Activision is the only pub doing this. :)

No its because of money, they probably won't even remaster the game. It will be some weird thing like South Park Stick of Truth where there will be an untouched non remaster xbox 1 version and also be able to have the regular 360 BC version at a later date.

LA Noire is an aggressively boring game. Temper your expectations if you're waiting on it. GTA 5 is also 1000x better than 4, but I welcome any and all BC additions.

Gotta disagree on that one. I had a lot of fun with it and enjoyed the story and the main missions. The only thing I could agree with being boring is the freeroam gameplay, since it's basically non-existent. Big open city that looks great and is rich with detail, but next to nothing to do in it aside from the story.

This "game" lets you make the wrong choices during your investigation and yet you can still successfully complete it. The open world tries to be like GTA but without any life in it. And don't get me started on the lame twist 85% of the way through the campaign; pretty sure writers ran out of ideas and just threw that in there finish off the story. So overrated.

I like it. I'm only on disc 3 (playing the four-disc Complete Edition). The atmosphere/setting/music/characters/cars is what I like most about it. The gameplay is fine, but it really is more of an Adventure game (pointing and clicking).

(It should be noted that I started playing this game in 2013... and have been chipping away at it for... several years. #backlogs)

 
LA Noire is awesome and that ending pissed me off to no end. Brilliant game where they literally didn't know what the fuck to do at the end lol

I loved it regardless from start to finish, but t definitely wasn't a game for everyone.

People forget also that GTAIV is also like the highest rated game of all time. It's also the highest rated game on the 360, so it's obviously the biggest BC title that can be had.

 
Mechanically, GTAV is the best game in the series. However, I found the characters to be so incredibly unlikable that the story was hard to give a shit about. Also, I don't know why Rockstar puts in things like ship-yard-crate-loading-sims. The fun screeches to a halt sometimes, especially after playing games like Saints Row 3 where the main focus is on having fun. I think GTA4 has a better story and I love NYC, so I'd rather run around Manhattan than LA.

 
I really liked LA Noire when I first started playing it, but it chipped at my enjoyment during the course of the game until I couldn't wait for it to be over. You're essentially doing the same 2 or 3 things over and over again the whole game. The crime scene investigation gets to be a huge chore. Walk around super slowly picking up every glistening object you see until one of them triggers a clue.

I could have dealt with that if the story went anywhere, but it really doesn't. No satisfying twists or conclusions or anything.

Read a rumor about L.A. Noire coming to Switch. Roll into this thread and everyone's talking about L.A. Noire. I should go back and play that game. Put maybe an hour into it years ago. I even have all the dlc too
 
Kind of surprised prices only doubled on the gta IV games at gamestop today.
Vanilla is $20
Episodes is $15
Complete is $35

I expected $25, $20, $40-45
Guess I underestimated the kindness of the company

I've heard it too but it just seems like an odd choice. For the amount of money it would take to port a fairly large game like LA Noire from a dead studio you'd think they'd just port GTA to get more Shark money.

It makes sense in that its a "finished" game. GTA V is constantly getting updates and that's horrid for the 32GB sized Switch. Even with external memory, 3rd party devs know not to put as Ubisoft says, 'constantly live' games on the Switch. Destiny, Overwatch, The Division are all examples of live games that will never come out on that system. So a game that is single player and doesn't need as many updates(like LA Noire), would make sense on a Switch cartridge. I personally don't believe the rumor, but eh who knows
Just finished Forza Horizon 2: Fast and Furious. Now, to play Titanfall 2 campaign or LA Noire?

Have to disagree. After finishing the "random" police calls on free roam, it does get boring, but the game as a whole is amazing. The open world just reminded me of Mafia II, where it looks great but there's nothing to do.

For Honor feels great, but the fact that there is host migration in a game that always requires an online connection is pretty garbage, definitely should have dedicated servers. Have to wait for loading every time someone quits is already getting old after a couple hours. Playing the busy modes makes the screen kind of hard to read, specifically Dominion, but maybe that gets better once you're more used to it.

Wasn't it supposed to come out next month though? Pushing back the release date by 1-3 months like they did like 4+ months before release is understandable but pushing it potentially a year back like six weeks before release is a little worrisome. I was probably going to buy it next month, bummer to have to wait so long now when it seemed to be right around the corner.

Just checked amazon and the placeholder date is December 31st.

More accurately, it's been pushed into the next fiscal year, which could be as late as March 2018, or as early as April 2017. So, it could be a summer or holiday release. Headlines were very misleading.

It's just been pushed out of this fiscal year (which ends march). So the game could come out in April and it would be part of the next fiscal year.

Like I posted above, Ubisoft apparently wants to move to 4 live AAA games each year, and releasing South Park would have made it five for this fiscal year.

That's better to know than the timeframe I thought. It actually makes me hopeful, even though they're a massive company, if they limit their releases and take more time, maybe we won't see releases that are a bit messy like AC:Unity was.
 
Said screw it and bought F1 2016. Had about $15 in credit, so after tax it was about $20. I finally got tired of debating it each time it goes on sale. Into the backlog it goes, even if I might convince myself to play it tonight or tomorrow

Yeah. Meaningful delays to ensure a quality game, I'm okay with. The first game got delayed 2-3 times and it clearly paid off, so this ultimately is probably good news. I'd rather wait 3-6 months for a finished product than to have patches rolling out months after launch just because it shipped to meet a deadline.
