Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

This.
I don't have the time to sink like I used to. Chipping away bit by bit, never feels like a lot of progress is being made.

Just watched this guy The Mexican Runner finish Super Mario 3 on NES as the final game to complete the entire 714 game NES game collection. Apparently he's the only guy to ever do this. The entire collection took him 3435 hours to beat

Also I had no idea until Omen told me last night but For Honor is actually coop all the way through. It doesn't do a goofball advertising it, but then option is there for two people to do the missions

Sorry, it wasn't clear I linked the site on the HW2 pic.
Has anyone found the Halo Wars 2 Kellogg's promo stuff? Been to three Walmarts and saw the placards but no special packaging. Tired of looking through Cheezits and Pringles displays looking like an even bigger psycho than normal.

fuck! I think I am screwed with my Visa Checkout purchases. The card associated with those purchases had a fraudulent charge on it so now I need to cancel that card.

VC told me to call Best Buy about it because they can't change the card but I have a feeling BB is going to kill those orders. And it sucks because a lot are orders that I had partially picked up combined with preorders.

Just finished the For Honor campaign. It was fun, and did a good just introducing a lot of the multi-player mechanics, but once you play against humans it's a lot less fun killing AI. Also to whoever was freaking out about the For Honor in game currency. I unlocked the last of the characters last night, and that's even after buying several gear packs for Orochi. After finishing the campaign it must give you like another 4000 steel because I now have almost 5000, and apparently the advanced tutorials give you 1500 steel in addition to the 2000 steel the regular tutorial gives. I'll probably spend a bunch of the steel on more Orochi packs, and then bank some for when new characters come out

I rented For Honor. The multiplayer is definitely the best part. It's just too bad they didn't use dedicated servers. It would be a much better experience for all. So many kicks back to menu, lag, and other issues holding back an otherwise fun experience.

It's an old school CRPG-style game like Divinity: Original Sin that's a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment.
Such a great game, which has me excited for the sequel new game since most of the original crew is making this one.

However, P:T was based on the D&D system and this new game is based on a new RPG system, Numenera. I'm hesitant but hopeful that it will be good.

I forgot this was coming out, and while I love these type of games; I can wait for a sale. Kickstarter funding gets too much out of nostalgic premises, and I worry it will follow too close to the source and not move the genre forward, or even stay current. Plus, I locked up most of my credit waiting for refunds.

Same people that did wasteland 2 so we have a good estimate of the quality. I preordered it, gonna beat it and sell it probably.

That's pretty incredible. Includes stuff like Ghosts n Goblins, Battletoads, TMNT...

Yeah, the campaign was pretty fun, silly story and all. I agree re: in-game economy, too. Plus there are 2 new daily quests that are generally eady to complete each day and that give 300 steel each. And as mentioned in earlier discussion, you don't pay to unlock characters - just to unlock the ability to customize them.

Steelbook if you pick it up @ GS. That's the only reason I pre-ordered it.

So is For Honor like a melee version of Rainbow Six: Siege?
Yeah kinda. There's 12 characters, all playing pretty differently. It's fairly tactical, and just going in and button mashing will get you killed quick online

Bob's comparison is good, except what I tried of Chivalry felt pretty janky and pretty random and FH does not at all

I'm on a diet and just read through a solid half page of delicious food talk. Shoutout to the Chili's love - that place is great and definitely better than the average chain. Might have to go there my next cheat day...

Also, I can't remember why I came to this thread in the first place and now I'm hungry. Damn you guys!

^ Just read this on GAF. Gold Edition will be $99.99. Mordor was one of my fave games this gen!

Nice!!! I loved the first one so this is fantastic news! Thanks for sharing it.

In Fallout Shelter, anyone have personal experience gameplay tips? I mostly just read not to over expand or overpopulate too quickly since stronger enemies start attacking you based on your building level. Been working so far as I've barely gotten attacked in a few days, but not very exciting. Also read the $5 starter pack has a godlike dweller in it?

I can't get Fallout Shelter to run on either of my Win 10 PCs either. Loads and plays for a few minutes, then just freezes. Would ideally prefer playing it on PC.

I think the nuclear reactor and upwards is when death claws start attacking. They kill fast.

I made the mistake of making too many babies last week and now I don't have enough food. Too afraid to start up the game again

You got it right, don't expand too quickly but the biggest factor Deathclaws show up is after you have over 60 vault dwellers. The % also increases using the radio room & depending how many times your vault door opens when you send people out into the wasteland and/or send them on quests.

The biggest tip I can give you is there's a very helpful FAQ in-game, just open up an icon that looks like a book in Fallout art style, then RB on over. It's in the middle and if you RB over again there's all your stats, keep an eye on your production and consumption. Yeah, you can go full population production but you run the risk of consuming too much food - keep in mind pregnant women can't defend themselves. Run out of water and you'll have irradiated people walking around basically as soft targets as their hp is lowered. Of course you also need power for all those rooms so now you see the basic formula. There's a big incentive on loot and crafting in the late game so build up a good core vault with enough dwellers/rooms occupied/questers balance.

I can handle Deathclaws but those f'n Radscorpions. They always know where your unoccupied rooms or rooms with the fewest dwellers aka defense are located. I'm currently running quests at night and then when my dwellers come back I'll have them crafting stuff, rinse repeat. Also know if you're going to be attacked from the wasteland (Raiders, Ghouls, Deathclaws) it's coming through the vault door and to the right, floor by floor, so plan accordingly for that defense.

I love this game but yeah I haven't spent a dime in it though.

Go slow until you have a decent amount of caps and at least two dwellers who can fill food and water and three for electricity. Then, buy/upgrade storage and make sure it's placed near one of your other filled rooms, so you don't need to waste dwellers by leaving them in the room if a fire or rodent infestation starts, you can just pull them from one of the rooms temporarily.

Also, make sure to increase your vault door's strength and place two dwellers in the room with guns to protect the doors/be the first defence when attacks happen.

EDIT: As Spybreak mentioned, make sure you build rooms accordingly. Three of the same rooms together are more efficient than one of each beside each other. Also, whenever an invasion happens, it will go from your vault room, past the elevator to the next room, go down one floor to the room on the left and then come across. Basically, they will always invade the room on the left first (the one under the vault) before crossing over.

I don't know why W10 isn't working for you, the game runs perfectly for me.

Speaking of fallout shelter, anyone have it bug out and not give you the supplies you sent out with the dwellers on quests? I've set dwellers up with like 15 stimpaks and they have 0 when they arrive.

I tried to do the lunchbox boosting method that's on TA but the two times I tried it caused my wifi to cut out for a minute.

Pretty certain I got the 200 waves of Feral Horde in this weekend, all in public.  Hadn't played much Horde, pretty sure I started the weekend with 70 waves cleared and am at 271.  Actually completed it once, with only 2 other players.  Had another run that ended after a couple failed attempts at 40.  In that one, someone was able to place the fabricator in mid-air.  Don't know if there's a trick to do that anywhere, if it depends on structure locations or just a glitch for Clocktower.  Helped get through a number of the boss waves, since the Snatchers and Carriers couldn't get by it.  Though the 200 was otherwise mostly 1-9 runs, or 1-19.

Didn't know it was a thing that soldiers and heavies would suicide at the start of a game so a scout pick up their COG tags to resurrect them with their deposit bonus.  At the start of one game, 3 people suicide'd.  I picked up one guy's COG tags, but I guess you can only carry 1 set at a time, because I didn't get the pickup icon when standing over another set.  I took the tags I had over to the fabricator, but the person carrying it never put it down for me to deposit into it.  Everyone else dropped out, then I get a message, "r yu dumb", from the one guy whose tags I couldn't pick up.  That's when I looked up the suicide tactic, lowering my opinion of the other person even moreso since I realized I was doing it correctly.

Also got another dumb message this weekend.  Since I was at L96 at the start of the weekend, I wanted to re-up before Hording to not waste any XP and get quick leveling, with the 500 credits for each 5 levels gained.  In one Escalation match, there were 2 quick dropouts on my team, then a 3rd left.  5-4 can be tough in Escalation with the increasing respawn times, 5-3 near impossible.  At 5-2, I just hid rather than take the matchmaking timeout for quitting.  I get a message "2 ez play social".  Some of those people might be dangerous if they had enough synapses firing to do more than handle a gaming controller.

Dear All My Xbox Live Friends:

Please play Diablo III so you can be overwhelmed by all the gifts I am sending you.

Thanks in advance, Anak Chuckatoa.

Escalation is pretty brutal. I consider myself a decent player, I can certainly hold my own. But if you don't go in with a decent team you're gonna get wrecked. And we all know the Gears community is notorious for their ruthlessness if you're not carrying your own weight. I remember when I first started playing Gears UE, I had no idea what I was doing. Was getting gibbed left and right. Some guy on my own team sent me a message saying, "delete Gears, faggot". Good times.

That was certainly a different way to end the Oscars.

I don't play enough, so I just go in alone. I have my ups and downs, but stick more to the objective game types than kill based ones so all my deaths are covered by the captures / breaks I make. .82 K/D ratio (and improving) but 52% winning percentage (57% in Escalation, with a lot more losses than wins coming from lopsided team counts).

You should have posted here. I'm sure you could have found some people to play with that would not have been rude and helped out, especially with Horde mode. I'm surprised players weren't organizing rounds this weekend for it.

I do find it disappointing that Microsoft seems to take no action against idiots who send messages like that. It ruins the fun of playing when someone berates you for playing or having teammates quit out, something you have no control over.

You can definitely report their ass, but I personally don't believe in that. It's just a part of playing Gears. You're gonna get teabbagged, you're gonna get humped, you're gonna get hate mail...I've just come to embrace the hostility of it all lol.

Now that's what I'm talking about. They worked their whole life to be in that moment, the joy and sense of accomplishment they must have felt, only to realize they didn't achieve it at all, and they never actually reached the pinnacle of their profession. All of those emotions in a 2 minute span broadcast to the entire world. Priceless
They did win quite a few other awards, including Best Director and Best Actress so two of the top four. I'd say they still have plenty to be happy about. Still a shitty feeling at the moment I'm sure.

Kind of like Atlanta Falcons earlier this month?
