Welp, with trades I can get Zelda for about $30, which I can justify even though I'm quite broke. Along with the Battlefield trial, I know what I'm doing this weekend while I get better from this cold.

 
Forza Horizon 3 has four new weekend challenges up. All very quick and easy and give nice rewards. They added about 20 upcoming challenges throughout the month with several one day only ones, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday if you need to plan ahead.

This is not the "top" 20 supermodels but the top 20 "earning" supermodels. I think we've seen them all too many times already that they're not as special looking as they used to be. The pictures shown are not their hottest either. For me, Candace Swanepoel will always be top and for some reason I kinda like Kendall Jenner.

Also, don't forget about Candace Bailey. I'd choose her over some of the women on the list.

 
Kings Tale: Final Fantasy is fun as hell....while it lasts. Its waaaaay too short. Even the Dream Challenges are mostly easy. Glad it's a free download. I'll have the 1000G before bedtime.
 
Xbone disc drive is almost dead. Any good trade in deals to upgrade to an s or am I better off selling it on Craigslist? I only have 7 physical games, but I'd prefer not to be forced over to digital only.

It's still a problem connecting to matches in general, so being in a match with someone with a poor connection just makes it even worse. It's pretty frustrating, I'm really enjoying the game. At least they're giving us xp bonuses for the problems?

I upgraded around black Friday and when I checked most places wouldn't give more than $50-$75 for an OG X1. You're probably better off with craigslist but even on there I listed it for $200 with 8 good games and no one was biting. I'm going to relist it for $100-$125 by itself I think.

Same here. I downloaded it last night and was excited to try it. Played some campaign last night and some multiplayer today. Now, I'm only playing it because I feel obligated to since this might be my only chance to experience the full game. I'd much rather play something else though, tbh...

Yeah... A couple reviews I glanced out praised it for feeling really fresh, but honestly it feels like a very well made but by the numbers war game. maybe I just got spoiled by Titanfall 2 but it doesn't feel all that special. There are some cinematic touches that stand out but they aren't groundbreaking.

I ended up trading my launch edition with a grinding drive in to gamestop last Saturday for $150. Got a gears of war edition s for $130 with a $50 gift card after the trade in. Not trying to tell you this was the best deal, but I passed on several over the past few months and ones like this pop up every other month it seems... If you don't mind spending a little money at gamestop

$150 isn't bad. You said launch edition so I'm assuming it's 500GB. Did you include any games with it to bring it up to $150? The last time I checked their website they were only offering $100 for the unit, cables and one controller.

Haven't tried the multiplayer but the campaign is pretty good so far imo. They're more personal stories, aside from the prologue - jezz brutal.
The tank pay at the end of that chapter felt like fps Company of Heroes.
 
I thought we only got two stories in BF1? I started the 5th one tonight. I agree with others some just seems off. Assuming it lets me play the last two stories I will power through it. So glad I didn't buy this though.

There's only a limit to the trial on the PC. For the XB1, you can play as much as you have time for. Not sure why the difference (maybe easier to code it on the PC? idk).

Finally got my console reverted from the Alpha build that broke Disney Infinity. My kids were not happy with that.

yeah i fill yah, since i have been playing beseria gotten alot of updates for both region accounts, had to stop with the one for awhile since with updates, run into the almost 100% used mark but just got the halo wars 2 limited edition external yesterday so no more worries about memory usage and can safely go back to installing and gaming

Digital Foundry made a vid comparing Botw on wii u an switch. Only main difference between the 2 is resolution. Wii u is 720p while switch in dock mode is 900p. Other than that, they're nearly 1/1 ratio of being the same.

In the simplest of terms, Zelda is much more than I thought it would be. I won't say anything specific, but it is incredible.

I'll jump on the Switch whenever Mario Odyssey comes out. Everything else I can play elsewhere already. (Setsuna PS4, Skyrim XB1, Zelda/Mario Kart Wii U.) Need that unique killer game.
 
If anyone is looking for a Switch, all TRU are supposed to have the red/blue model tomorrow. My store has 25. I played about 6 hours of Zelda last night and it is extremely good so far. Though I'm playing on Wii U.

My store was also honoring the BOGO 40% off from the website, so I grabbed Halo Wars 2 as well, probably won't be playing it for weeks though. The sale doesn't work on Switch games, not that there are two physical games worth buying yet anyways.

As for the Destiny stuff, the rumors/leaks floating around for a while have been saying nothing was transferring because of a new engine, so hopefully that means it is true, as a lot of Destiny's long-term issues stemmed from the old engine being difficult to work with. I hope they take a page out of Blizzard's book again with how often Overwatch gets decent to great updates every month, they did say they took advice from the Diablo 3 team for Taken King.

I did at least expect most of the cosmetic stuff to transfer, it seems totally feasible with everything being on the cloud, especially if Rockstar can do the crossplatform character transfer for GTA. It appears a lot of people are losing their shit over this announcement on Reddit and Bungie.net, as expected. The fact that microtransactions are all going away is pretty shitty for the huge amount of people that buy thing. I think that could have a pretty big effect in some way, unless they give those people equal Silver in the new game or something.

I'm kind of neutral. Destiny needs a major overhaul and this probably means it's coming. Hopefully it ends up better for it, but we really won't even know until a couple months after release.

Edit: Oh, and the best part for us on Xbox? This means that the last batch of PlayStation exclusives are extremely likely to only come to Destiny 1 AFTER Destiny 2 is out. Great right?

Played it for about 5 hours last night (and way later than I should have been awake) and it's fantastic. So far its worthy of all of the praise and high/perfect review scores. It has elements of Skyrim/TES and Portal (yes, Portal) along with Nintendo levels of polish. The gameplay is fluid, you can stumble into situations where you get killed instantly but the save/retry system is very forgiving and encourages exploration.

The console games have been plagued with slow starts and 2 hour tutorials, but that's not the case with BotW. The game does have some guidance in the beginning but it never feels restrictive or like its holding your hand. Even after seeing trailers and gameplay videos, nothing prepped me for how good it is when you can sit down and actually play it yourself.

Also, it plays great on Wii U, so if that's an option to anyone, don't hesitate. I've heard the FPS gets lower, but also setting output to 1080i helps with it. The frames do dip some, but this isn't a competitive shooter, and you'll likely be having too much fun to care.

They are selling for barely over $300 without a game. That's super slim profit margins and might be a loss when you consider shipping, eBay fees and sales tax.

I've played 4, Hardline and 1. I have 3 but have yet to play it. I really liked BF1. I really dug the whole WWI vibe since there aren't many games out there that go over that era. How did you like the BC games? I'm very tempted to get BC2 during the current sale. Also, is BC1 necessary to play before BC2? Thanks in advance.

Bc1 is not needed but it's definitely different from every other battlefield single player game to date. It's more of a open world level based fps game based around hilarious squad mates. I mean there's a level called par for the course and you can drive golf carts against tanks. Bc2 is completely separate from Bc1 and has a slightly more serious tone to its story than Bc1 but it still has its humor bc is known for.
 
LOL I canceled all my preorders weeks ago when the desyncing issues began cropping up. Even one of the systems I was poring over whether or not to give to my brother. The two people I know irl who got Switches are already having joycon problems. Eff that, I'll just dust off my Wii U and get Zelda BotW since that's the only good game so far on that system. Bomberman for $50? Tetris for $40? A proper controller for $80? MarioKart again for $60 w/correct battle mode? I can patiently wait till Fall for price drops and all the bugs to be fixed + Mario Odyssey. In the meantime, preordered ME Andromeda instead

On topic, Fallout Shelter keeps crashing on me non stop at the vault loading screen. Console resets and powering the router off and on doesn't help. I know my dwellers who went out searching in the wasteland are surely dead now RIP

Finished and deleted BF1 campaign this morning. The first story or two weren't very good IMO.

Major spoilers below. Do not click if you don't want spoilers.

I am not very good a flying but really enjoyed the flying mission in this game. The tank one was horrible. Just a mess. Spent probably 2 hours trying to find the last spark plug or two. The best story I think was that last one. I would actually be interested in a 8 hour game based on that.

But they couldn't help but screw up the ending IMO. Don't even bother with the field guns. Just ride up to the train on a horse and throw 2 grenades. Ride to cover. Get off horse, get back on horse magically get 2 more grenades. Rinse and repeat. Didn't fail once this way. Trying to use the field guns I died over and over even just firing once and running away. Take more then 2 seconds to line up the shot and you die.

Jumping in on the "also playing Zelda on the WiiU" bandwagon. Yeah, the game is great and I wasn't prepared at all for the "oh you've played video games before, figure this shit out on your own" aspect, which is kinda refreshing. I've also died in the first four hours more than any other Zelda game ever, but I don't feel let down when it happens. Only real complaint I got is the game doesn't really utilize the tablet at all. So no item management, just play it on a smaller screen and that's it and feels like a really weird choice not to include it.

I feel weird commenting on this in an Xbox thread, but Zelda is needed as a system seller for the Switch, so including extra features in the WiiU version which is otherwise identical with only a minor downgrade in performance, would have led to fewer console sales. The fact that they released it on the WiiU at all will hurt the sales of the Switch in the short term, but they make up for it with increased software sales from people who wouldn't have bought a Switch immediately anyway who buy Zelda for the WiiU.

Edit: On topic, is there anyone else who bought $5 movie downloads during the Oscar promo who hasn't received any of the $5 back emails yet? I bought at the very end, within the last few hours of the promo. They had already changed the listings to not mention the promo anymore, but I did take a screenshot of the terms on my phone, just in case. I want to give them a chance to send the emails before I complain, but if no one else is waiting for them, then maybe I will need to go ahead and contact support. I've already had a recent ordeal with support, so I'd like to avoid another if possible.

I may have to get a Wii U on the cheap just for Zelda (and Bayonetta 2). Have no interest in a Switch. Rather save more money towards Scorpio.

Edit: Wii U is still not that cheap! Forget that...
