Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I remember back in high school some kid said he was having troubles with a ps2 game not reading he said he threw it in the toilet and flushed it and somehow it worked.True story
Toilet really works. I had a disc that didn't work. Friend takes the disc into the bathroom, comes out, and it works perfectly. He fixed a few of my discs that way.

Oy Vey...also read a stoey that boiling disks helps too...not tempted to try either thing though.

When I look at the disk under a light the side that gets read has a wavy shimmer to it. I'm guessing there was an issue when they burned this batch.
Does your Xbox recognize the disc at all? If so, go to the store Page and you can download the game after verifying you own it with the disc.

Dumbass rabbit doesn't realize he needs to stay secluded during the match so we can respawn when we die. Rabbit out there Rambo'n shit and we lose
How else is the rabbit going to kill the opposing rabbit for progress toward that chocolate hammy? Haven't quite decided if this event was poorly planned, poorly implemented or both. (I posted on their forums they should have used challenges so people would at least know when they'd earn each one.) It will be interesting to see how much grief will be on the forums because people didn't get skins they thought they earned because they had made a mistake tracking their own progress.

I can confirm boiling has fixed warped games for me before. Bought a copy of Final Fantasy XIII from WalMart that didn't recognize. Threw it in a pot of boiling water for 30 seconds and it fixed the warping. Haven't tried it with X1 games before as I have access to a JFJ now, but I do know that GameCube games will melt when trying this either due to size, or the material the labels are made of.

No, the xbox doesn't even recognize the disk is in there. It makes different sounds when trying to read it compared to my other two games, then just gives up. No errors or anything either.

Praxus, try holding the front of the Xbox up while loading the disc, but this is to fix a disc drive problem on the original black xbone.

Year One Edition is more of a HD remaster really. I double dipped, I've enjoyed my time with the game a lot and am really looking forward to the sequel (said to have 4 player co-op). Yeah co-op was said for the OG one too but now they've got the resources, considering Microsoft picked up their studio, I think they'll pull it off this time. Also they've talked about the scale of the maps, with multiple maps allowing you to play different stories and having expansive gaming sessions. :D/
um wasn't it actually said they were going to do an MMO? before the game was even released. So just 4 player co-op is a bit of a let down, but yeah I understand expectations have been scaled down a lot

My day one X1 would have trouble reading discs and like 75% of the tine wouldn't read. I could also hear the difference in noises when it read and when it did not. The fix for me was to hold onto the disc and make the drive pull the disc from me

Yep, mine is the same way and that technique works for me every time.

I bought the Black Ops Collection from GS today and I plugged in BO2 and it started downloading the 16GB game.  Cool.  I got to Manage Game and it shows I have ELEVEN DLCs waiting to be installed:

Apocalypse

Call of Duty ®: Black Ops II Season Pass

Dragon Pack

Graffiti Pack

Nuketown 2025

Nuketown Zombies

Pack-A-Punch Pack

Revolution

Uprising

Vengeance

Zombies Pack

Out of all of these, the only one I actually own is Nuketown 2025.  What's up with that?

Even though I had all the DLC already, they showed up as small files (i.e. 30 MB instead of 1GB). I'm assuming they packaged the DLC in for free.

Can u guys confirm this statement for me from the FAQ:

  • On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
So I just bought an XB1 and I have a 3-month Gold subscription that I am going to activate.  Then I am going to buy Forza 6 and the Porsche expansion, which is cheaper under "Games with Gold."

So if I purchase this content at the GWG price, when my 3-month Gold subscription expires I won't be able to play it?  That's crazy.  Is there an option to purchase it for the non GWG price if I have an active Gold subscription?  I don't game online honestly, and I am only using the Gold Subscription because I got the card a few years ago on the cheap (thought I was about to buy an XB1 back then but got busy and never did until last week).  Thanks!

yeah it sounds like the triple pack disc includes the DLC (cool!), so it's downloading it to your xbox one

My cousin just picked up a S bundle today with the following games:

  • Gears 4
  • Halo 5
  • Gears Ultimate Edition
  • Halo Master Chief Collection

It's a 500GB console, so does he need an external to fit most of them? Poor guy has a download limit of 250GB, and he just really wants Gears 4 and Halo 5 first.

games with gold only refers to the games that are free with gold, a cheaper price means deals with gold which you can play regardless of live status

No. Games you pay for are yours forever regardless of if you get a discount. You have to have an active sub to play the "free" XB1 games you get as part of the sub though.

Master Chief Collection is massive. If 250 is all you can download for now, then I would hold off on MCC until you either go to a friends place that has no limits, or wait until you know for sure you aren't going to download any massive games. Halo 5 is pretty big too.

Damn. I have an unlimited plan with 150 download, I'll just tell him to bring by my house and start downloading.

Played a few hours of ESO with the free weekend and enjoyed what I played. It's a nice change from how Skyrim plays. Decided to pick up the gold edition. Still contemplating candleman, overwatch, ultimate alliance and dead island.

Can anyone else confirm this? I purchased the pack from GS as well and it installed 16gb. In game, it doesn't show that I own the packs and there is no option to install them from "manage game" either. You sure you never purchased the packs?

The ESO talk made me remember that ESO: Morrowind Collectors Edition deal back in January for $22.99.
Amazon still hasn't canceled it despite it more than likely being a huge price error. Hope it comes through!

That is a good point, 360 games still work after your sub runs out to the best of my knowledge.
This is correct. From the start of the program, Xbox 360 games were always yours to keep regardless of maintaining the subscription, but the downside is that only very old games were offered because of that.

With Xbox One, you have to have Gold to play them, but the upside is we are sometimes offered newer games as part of GWG.

I'm looking at the game's DLC list (right myah) and out of the 38 DLCs there I only one that says "Already purchased" is Call of Duty®: Black Ops II: Nuketown 2025. All the rest still have a price.

Are you able to play those maps? If you can't wait for a multiplayer game with those maps, I guess you could try running one of the zombie maps from the dlc

Same, I'm astounded every time I look at my orders.

Opinions on gold dlc? I've got regular on disc but am tempted to upgrade.

Ok, my bad. Thanks for the help. I was not differentiating Games with Gold vs. Deals with Gold. Thanks to ELdrichOnRye too.

Only discs I ever heard of boiling working for was oxm discs.

I'm getting mixed results here.

  • All of the packs I mentioned have calling cards and I have access to those inside Barracks within Multiplayer, but the special calling card for owning the Season Pass (The Deuce) shows as locked.
  • I go to Store in the Zombies menu and the only thing it shows that I own is Nuketown 2025 (I actually do own that). Everything else here, including the Season Pass, shows an option to purchase.
  • If I start a Local or System Link game inside Multiplayer, I can choose any of the DLC maps without issue. If I go to Store inside Xbox Live, it shows me the same purchase options as going into the Store inside Zombies, where I only own Nuketown 2025.

Gears 4 is 85.6GB plus 19.5mb
Halo 5 is 97.7 GB
Gears of war ultimate is 44.6GB plus 9.5mb
Halo MCC is 62.7GB

Less then 300gb Should all fit on a 500gb easily.

If/when he gets external drive he can move the games to it.

A 500GB console only has like 360GB for games though

Yeah most likely due to this is how it goes with PlayStation+ now too. If you've updated to the current dash, you'll have a sub section called Subscriptions under your My Games & Apps.

I got a question about playing 360 games on the Xbox One.....is it possible to play a 360 Game together with my main account that purchased the game, while another account of mine (not the same) plays the same game (with the 360 console license) on my 360?

I mean it was possible to use my main account on my second 360 while I was playing with another account on my 360 that downloaded the game first...so I'm asking if this is still possible just between different generation consoles =)

In my quest for games which can be played in short bursts (quick levels, etc.) I started replaying Rayman Origins. That game is just as good as it was 5-6 years ago, dang. Full 1000, here I come.

No, the xbox doesn't even recognize the disk is in there. It makes different sounds when trying to read it compared to my other two games, then just gives up. No errors or anything either.
Well, shit.

Praxus, try holding the front of the Xbox up while loading the disc, but this is to fix a disc drive problem on the original black xbone.
For real? This sounds like it could disrupt the balance of the disc drive, you're never supposed to move a disc drive while it's accessing a disc, unless it's designed for that (car stereos, those ancient Disc Man players, etc.).

I bought the Black Ops Collection from GS today and I plugged in BO2 and it started downloading the 16GB game. Cool. I got to Manage Game and it shows I have ELEVEN DLCs waiting to be installed:

Call of Duty ®: Black Ops II Season Pass

Has anyone put the BO2 disc from the three disc set into a 360 to see if the DLC gets downloaded? If it's a GOTY / complete type situation, I'm significantly way more interested.

For me, BOII (disc install from BO collection) only showed the 2 weapons skins I had bought and the 2 map packs I had already purchased (and Nuketown 2025), so YMMV...

Same with BO1 - shows the two map packs I own (the first two).

Looks like the install installs all the packs and the "manage game" install is just to unlock the maps...
