You'd be way better off getting a raspberry pi and setting it up. Way cheaper, and you can play the entire libraries from multiple consoles.

I had an original Pi sitting around that I had never done anything with, but after getting frustrated with the Nes classic situation I decided to turn it into an emulator box. Gonna give this one away and order a Pi 3 to set up

Yes, you have. Either a Raspi or even a Surface Pro would suffice.

The only reason to buy a Mini tomorrow is to resell it and make money.

I played the OG Xbox version of Superman Returns way back when and it was okay. Appreciated the idea of giving the city a life bar instead of reducing Superman to a normal character who could get beaten up by some street punks, and they nailed the flying. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot less to do in that game.

 
Randy Pitchford can be sort of a douche but I really enjoyed the Brothers in Arms games. They made me think I was really learning about fire team tactics, even though I probably wasn't. That's one franchise I would like to see come back, so hopefully the new COD drums up interest in WWII again.

Then again maybe a Brothers in Arms set in contemporary times might be good too.

Off topic question but here goes...I'm trying to watch Planet Earth ll on my Xbox One S but the home screen doesn't have the tiles for choosing "Play All", "Episodes", or "Subtitles". Effectively I can't choose the episodes I want to watch.

This issue is affecting both disks - anyone else seen or heard of this? Is it an issue specific to Planet Earth 2? I tried a different 4K disk and the usual options were there.

The Disney games and NBA Jam are impossible. Square wouldn't do Secret of Mana, it'd be either Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger.

With how stingy Nintendo was with even accessories alone, there's no way we'd get Secret of Mana for the rumored SNES Classic since really why bother releasing a 3-player co-op game when we all know they'd be too lazy to add a 3rd controller port and would definitely not care to make a multitap for just one game that isn't their own property. Plus no one wants Bubsy. NOBODY.

And my NES Classic just sits on my shelf and I nod at it. This is the most interaction I have with it because I got a goddamn backlog of more recent games from three whole generations.

Not all CEOs. Got back tonight from my company's annual retreat, where the CEO gave a good talk about his vision for the company. Part of that included saying that the expense of the retreat was worth it to the employees vs. the company's bottom line. Some investors may think that's out of touch, but they'd be wrong. :D

He also knows his employees. After the company dinner last night, most people dispersed to various bars. He opened a tab at one that ran upwards of $2k. My boss's tab ran about $1,200. And one bar's month was probably made with a tab that topped $11k. Work hard, play hard. A lot of hangovers waiting for buses to go from the hotel to the airport today.

Umm Nintendo did make a multi-tap and gamecube controllers just for playing Smash Brothers on the WiiU. I think they are incredibly out of touch with reality but I wouldn't put anything past them...

Soul caliber 1, nope, not once. Soul Calibur 2 does though I'd say usually around the time of a big seasonal sale tends to go for half off or more. Same deal with Castlevania.
 
Think I'm going to take the plunge and buy that Forza Horizon 2 Complete Add-Ons Collection. Seems like there's more than enough here at the discounted price to make it worth it.

All of you can thank me later when they give it all away as Games with Gold in June.

 
CoD WWII release date is officially 11/3. This fills out the fall shooter lineup - all releasing on Fridays.

Destiny 2 is 9/8. SW Battlefront II is 11/17.

 
Seems nutty that they'd stop making something that has been selling out like crazy. The few times it was available it was in such small quantities. Was going to get one at Best Buy this morning, but there was a note on the door of the store saying they don't have the NES Classics.

You can play NES games on your Xbox One with the Nesbox Emulator. I guess that'll have to do.

^ Reminder, it is launching w/ the multiplayer only. The single player campaign is coming "later" as a free add-on.

Just my opinion, but the game looks gross - at least the kill animations do. (See the trailer from last week, from 1:45 onward.) Keep in mind, I am not into torture p0rn. Saw, Hostel, shit like that. No thanks.  :speaktothehand:

I did end up getting an NES this morning, went at 8 am and was first in line. Our store ended up with 7, so I think an employee bought one. There were close to 50 people in line total.

Sure, a Retropie is more practical over all, but this is a cool piece for a collection, and I should be able to add just about everything I'd want to play as far as NES games go. Looking into it now, apparently they got RetroArch running on it now, so I can add SNES, GameBoy, Genesis, even N64 games to it as well.

This sounds like lazy authoring on the discs. Something similar was done on S.1 of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Each episode just flowed into the next and I don't recall seeing a way to choose from them (it's been a long time though).

Popped a rare achievement this morning. Used Junk Rat and blew a land mine that sent D.Va into my bear trap and her death. It's fun to see those random ones pop when your just having fun playing and not even trying for anything.

Set up my Pi 3 console last week and it's awesome. I would have gotten an NES Classic if I'd seen one in the wild, but no way I'm paying over MSRP or camping for one. I already have a PSP modded with all the classic 8 and 16-bit games from years ago but it's awesome to play them on your TV. It was worth it just to see my daughter trying out all of the games I played as a kid.

That's how I've gotten most of mine, aside from stuff like sniping someone in midair as Widow, which I had to deliberately do. I got the Junkrat one early on when I was just trying him ut after launch and I didn't even really know what I was doing, haha.
 
With all of the NES Classic madness going on, I'd love some retro indies... I'm still waiting for Rogue Legacy and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse to go on sale again.

But seeing as how it's been over a week since a GTAV/Shark Card sale... I'd say we're in for that.

Just picked up a Best Buy online order, I counted 6 "Sorry we are out of NES Classics" signs posted on my way from the door to customer service. I was very tempted to ask if they had any NES Classics while I was picking up my order since they also had a sign taped to every register.
 
I predict that we will have our every-other-week GTA V and NBA 17 currency sale.

Neither of them we on the sale list for last week, so we are overdue.
