This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I don't think so. The thing is that he ONLY played videogames, I don't think he had her gf (if he really has one seen a photo with her blonde gf) attended in any way. 1 million GS is too much to have a normal life around it. But he did what he wanted, and achieved something noone else has (yet), so it's good, I guess.

Me? In about 2 years and a half with a 360, I've got 39.000 GS, and I consider that I've been playing way too much.

edit: though GS is not a real indicator of how many hours someone plays to videogames. I know people with about under 17.000 GS that have played thousands of hours, but only to a few games. They almost only play Gears or Halos in online multiplayer.
In over 6 years, I have like 25k lol

If it was "inevitable" then a lot more than one person would have done it...
I meant it's inevitable because he purposefully dedicated his time and money to reach that goal, not necessarily that any random person could get 1M. I'm sure there are lots of people who want to get there, but are hampered by time or money or other life commitments that have delayed them. Again, not dissing his 1M accomplishment, I'm just less impressed, is all.

That's cool he got one million, I'm sure he had to play a ton of crappy games and kinect crap to reach it so props for being able to suffer through that garbage. I don't care about gamerscore enough to play games that are no fun to me but I do like getting achievements in games I enjoy, it gives extra to the game for sure.

Yeah, I definitely don't admire a dude with a 1 million gamer score. I'm sure he passed on playing dozens of great games that don't have achievements because he was busy playing the European version of Hannah Montana or something to get another 1000GS.

Looks like he only played the US version of Hannah Montana, so I guess even he has a line that he won't cross....for now.

It is sad however, when you see some of the games on his list. Three versions of Conan (US, GER, JP)? Seriously?

Wonder what would happen if someone did all their gaming offline, topped that score and logged in for the first time.  No obvious suspicious activity (no bugged achievements, none that require online play) aside from everything having been unlocked offline.

Probably would be branded a cheater/gamerscore editor regardless. Which would very much suck.

The unofficial rules seem to be if an achievement doesn't have a timestamp then it's not counted, I believe achievements unlocked offline don't have timestamps.

There are people on x360a who are all over this stuff, checking people's scores for shenanigans.

I neither condone nor condemn them.

Yeah. I like to have mine timestamped as well , but even so I have many chievos without timestamps, because I won't stop playing if I'm disconnected from live or if my internet server suddenly falls.

Been then man. I remember I had no net for over a month. Gave me the kick in the ass I needed to start Castlevania LoS. 1000'd. Then, 1270'd it. Shame its all offline :/

Oh well. Was still a great game.

Anyway. I honestly don't care about him hitting 1mill. Most if not all of his games are easy ones. I'm proud of my about to be 170k.

My parents are divorced and my father doesn't have internet. When I was young and went to visit him for a few days, I always had to play offline. Unless the person goes offline for few weeks and comes back with 100,000 more Gamerscore, I don't mind when people have offline achievements. Some people do get really angry about achievements without timestamps though.

I play video games way to much and always go for achievements, I can't even fathom how much you have to play and how many absolutely horrible games with easy achievements you have to slog through to get a million gamerscore.  I've always assumed Stallion has to be more than one person playing on the same account.

I wondered about this myself, some days his score jumps 2-3 thousand and not all on easy games, but I guess it's doable if you play 15-20 hours a day. Plus whenever I've seen him playing something on Twitch he doesn't appear to be particularly amazing skills wise.

There are some dead giveaways for cheated gamerscore. Primarily being online-only achievements that are unlocked without a timestamp, unlocked achievements that are known to be unobtainable, and unlocking achievements in a timeframe that isn't practically possible (e.g. unlocking both the Level 1 and Level 50 achievements for an online shooter in the same day when it should take 100 hours of playing to achieve that). There's nothing suspicious about offline achievements in general.

Microsoft is fairly aggressive about flagging achievement cheaters and there is amateur detective work that goes on at sites like TrueAchievements.com. Everyday, no-name users get banned and/or marked as cheaters on a daily basis; you can see that on the Microsoft forums. If a well-known tag like Stallion had evidence of cheated gamerscore on it, it wouldn't be a secret.

Wow, to complete LoS achievement-wise is a lot of work, and worth of praise. The game must be kind of difficult in insane difficulty, specially the DLC demon.

^Ive seen plenty of people get flagged or banned from TA caused of some achievements. I've had a few friends get banned off TA for the Skate achievements glitch. (There was a glitch when you beat Rob Dyrdek, you unlocked several online achievements as well) Nothing happened to their personal GT, but TAs "amateur" hall monitors are so antsy on these things. Even if they're developer flaws.

The core 1000 isn't to TO bad. I've only wanted to bash my controller 4 times.

But that demon dlc -_- ... I almost broke a controller over my head and threw my Xbox out the window.

Kinda disappointed that Microsoft isn't having some Xbox One sales this week on Live, considering many people will just now be getting the system in the Titanfall bundle.

Would love to buy a digital version of Battlefield 4, Dead Rising 3, etc....  And right now, the system has my full attention.

Didn't Phil Spencer say they were gonna have GwG next month or soon? So maybe we'll get some news.

That sounds a bit anal since it's the programmers fault. I have BF4 campaign achievements even though I haven't even touched the campaign yet because there's a glitch in BF4 that causes random cheeves to pop. Good thing I'm not signed up on TA then. Lol.

Haha. Yup. Honestly, TA isn't even that great. It has some uses, but those uses I can get on 360a.

I completely agree. x360a is my primary go-to site. I think the forums and interactions in there create a better sense of community, too. When I'm really stuck on something and can't find a good solution on 360a, then I'll go on TA.

Today, my Xbox froze, turned it on again and worked for about an hour. Then, I think there was a slight power surge in the house (turned off the amp but TV was fine), and the 360 flashed the dreaded 3 rings. An hour later, when I let everything cool off, it worked fine again for an hour before I turned it off. I really hope it's not dead
Had the same issue years ago and the system worked for a good year + before I had to send it in for repairs.

I always saw gamerscore as just another high score. It's just to get this score you need to play multiple games. In RPG's you might grind against weaker enemies to raise your level. In fighting games you might want to discover hit boxes and frame data. These are things to maximize your skill.

Finding a way to make a living off chasing gamerscore was a way to maximize his efficiency. Achievement hunting is it's own game. Him getting sponsors for playing isn't that different than a game where wearing a certain item increases enemy loot drops. At high level play it's part of the game.

He might have played some crappy games or the same game from different regions, but again that's similar to grinding techniques in many games. There might be a beast you regularly kill because it's worth a good amount of XP or money. A game that is worth a quick 1000 gs is like that.

Grinding on Hanna Montana would land you in jail....or at least it used to. Now if you do it, I think it gets you on MTV.

The view I have on offline achievements is that if there's no evidence that you earned your achievement offline in an illegal way, it's fine. 90% of the people who earn achievements offline make is obvious that they hacked because they unlock achievements out of order when it's not possible. I know there are some games where you can do that like Halo 4 but there are games where you definitely cannot do that and if it shows up on your gamercard like that, you're deemed a hacker/gamesaver and most likely will get reset because of it. And of course there's the online achievements unlocked offline dead giveaway.

It is possible that you could unlock enough achievements offline to reach 1M but a decent percentage of games are really hard to unlock certain achievements. Plus there's also the fact that Stallion83 has at least 3 types of Xbox's (1 NTSC, 1 PAL and 1 NTSC-J).

I've had a 360 since 2008. 22000something GS. Lots of offline achievements (didn't have consistent internet connection to my 360 till 2011). I'm an odd one lol

Haha. Yup. Honestly, TA isn't even that great. It has some uses, but those uses I can get on 360a.
Agreed, except TA has a much better tracking system.

I use 360a (or PS3trophies if it's multiplat and the 360a guide is lacking) as default, combined with their community (their forums are usually much more active, and definitely friendlier).

I use TA for delisting-watch (they have a lot more achievement-related news than 360a), the tracker, and for the scheduled boosting sessions.

Both sites have their use. That said, yes, TA people are very anal-retentive about achievements, even ones accidentally obtainable through glitches. They had a whole "debate" recently about "cheaters", which at the time included people who boost achievements.. which is ridiculous.

What bothers me about TA, is they have their own scoring system designed to reward difficulty of achievements and give 0 TA score for unobtainables (removing the point of hacking your gs for unobtainables), yet they still bitch when people get unobtainables, even 0G ones.

Who cares? The system is DESIGNED to give 0 points for unobtainables. At most it would just increase your base GS/completion percentage. I don't edit my GS, but if I ever did, it would probably be for unobtainable shit just because it's broken anyways and half-finished games would eventually antagonize my OCD.

^Thats just another reason why I say fuck TA.

Also, fuck em even more for the "boosters are cheaters" debate.

Microsoft has already openly stated that, as long as you do not alter your internet connection to XBL, boosting is completely okay with them. Plus, boosting is sometimes the only route to go. Like in Batman AO, the community was DEAD before launch and the MP achievements were stupid as hell. I guess I'm a cheater cause I got a group of 8 to finish the game -_-

Oops. 8-[ :whistle2:$

Maybe people that try to get a win streak achievement in a game where disconnecting (not quitting) counts as the match never happening. I hate when games do this.

Elaborate?

And that is mostly directed towards people like those who credit glitched in Halo Reach. (Unplug internet as you earned credits, to re-earn them.)
I saturated my Internet connection to get into bot only matches for the Foreshadowing achievement in Gears 3 (execute Kim with RAAM 10 times in public Vs.). Though with as bad the netcode is in the Gears games, MS and/or Epic probably couldn't tell the difference.

Yup. The main reason I can't stand current fighters.

I think you'll be alright. Theoretically you're not doing anything wrong. I've known plenty of people who've uploaded a video to YouTube to downgrade their internet to get private lobbies.

Yeah, I know. I violated the letter of the law, but not the spirit of fair play the law intends to provide. Like doing 70 in a 65. I'm sure if MS wanted to be super strict about things like that, even that Stallion guy would be in trouble.

Nah. Stallion's sponsored by MS at this point. He's above the law.

I bet he even had MS make all those games in Oman free so he could have the competition banned. How dare he use Rayman for evil like that.

Now, but before he got his score high enough to get that sponsorship? Or maybe if smrnov passes him. Unless Stallion has enough influence to change the exchange rate and makes the Canadian achievements worth less.

I reached a 100k milestone a few days ago and was pumped. This dude hit a million?! I'd buy him a drink.

I'm going to tell my wife (who told me told stop playing games now that I hit my goal) that he's my hero and I'm going to follow his lead. I'm also going to point out that he has a very supportive significant other who encourages him. This probably won't end well. Don't be surprised if this is the last post from me.

Don't worry, if you end up amongst the fallen, at the very least we will honour you with "Post of the Day".

But seriously, hardest I've laughed all day. Dead man walking.

The problem is that if you screw up which console you have your profile linked to and play offline on a console that isn't connected to the internet and that doesn't have your profile linked you can lose achievements. When I first moved to Australia I didn't have internet for 6 months so I gave my profile to my nephews so they could use my Xbox Live Gold account and play all the games I bought. During that time I played on my own system at home offline and amassed like 10,000 achievement points. When I finally did get internet all those achievements disappeared. So now I have save files for later in the game which means when I play a game I get achievements for stuff way out of order. This happens a fair bit when you don't handle offline play correctly and transfer your profile. It isn't cheating and explains why some people are missing earlier achievements. Hence, don't be so quick to judge and call someone a cheater. I wouldn't even know how to hack achievements and don't care enough to do so.

Anyone can get a million GS if they have enough time and money. Thing is, most people have jobs/lives.
