This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I couldn't wait until the new sales, so I gave in and bought Eternal Sonata and Beautiful Katamari. As for Eternal Sonata, yeah it's been cheaper and at similar price a billion times, but for some reason I am curious to try it, despite me not being a huge JRPG fan. It just looks more interesting than most games of said genre, if not else because of the musical theme. As for Katamari, I must thank everyone who recommended it. The controls are weird (and even after I'll get used to them completely I'll never see the point of moving two analog sticks in the same direction to move in that way), but it's unlike anything else I've ever played, totally different even from other "ball games" like Ballance, Kula World, Super Monkey Ball and so on. Definitely worth this low price.

I loved Phantom Dust back then. Awesome game. I hope they remake it with the, supposed, leaked E3 news of a Prequel.

Oh i didnt imply region locked or anything but zone focused like obviously they're not gonna push Madden there lol. Of course there will still be a small community looking to grab it elsewhere, like here in the States.

To the person who wondered why FIFA 14 was on sale and not the World Cup video, free update coming.

I can't wait to upgrade to a Windows 8 phone next month. Dying to play some exclusives I can't access on my ancient WP7. Sorry, all this FIFA talk and Bob's post made me sad

I finally decide to pull the trigger on Fifa 14 cause of the sale and only a couple hours later it's part of a buy 2 get one free sale on Microsoft Store!

Microsoft seems to be reviving Phantom Dust from Xbox Original

I'll admit, I didn't even know about this game, also thanks to the fact it never got released in Europe, but it appears to have a nice cult following, and gameplay looks pretty fresh. I would not mind a next-gen iteration of this.
The fact that MS is going to revive an older, somewhat niche game like that, even if just for the Japan launch is another good sign moving forward. They have a lot of franchises that died with the original Xbox that would be great to continue now considering they're struggling with exclusive IP count. Them doing this is enough for me to believe that the new management has actually been listening to game/revival suggestions, and there have been plenty of good ones. Hoping E3 brings some more surprises of this caliber, consider me somewhat hyped.

Is there seriously any other complaint they haven't addressed aside from the parity clause (which still sucks) and the hardware comparison to the PS4 (which can't be fixed anyways)? I can't think of anything.

Saw that but that sale is physical copies, I'll have to wait for them. The weekend is now, I bought and downloaded while I played new user tracks for Trials Fusion while Skype in snapped app. Talk about modern luxuries and also GGGGGOOOOOAAAAALLLL!

Indeed, there is a lot of backlash, but at least they do something. I much prefer their sorry and fixing than just a "deal with it" attitude that many companies actually do have. They had the balls to unveil the DRM plan first (let's face it, it WILL happen anyway, just not yet) before others did, took the backlash for it, corrected it and even made the console region-free. Accepted the backlash for Kinect (which is a great but underused peripheral), and got rid of it (partially anyway), also killing the price issue. They raised their game with GwG, they're reviving old franchises, they're improving the service greatly, adding external HDD support, and more. Hardware is weaker than PS4's, but it's just the media backlash that makes this noticeable: PS3 was also more powerful than X360 (see The Last Of Us destroying anything on X360 graphics-wise), but nobody gave a crap. Many multi-platform games had different resolutions between the consoles: some were better on X360, some on PS3. Some ports were absolutely terrible on PS3 (Bayonetta, Skyrim, some COD games), but nobody really cared. Yet, suddenly, it's important that a console runs a game in 960p while the other is just 900p. Like you would actually notice it anyway without a comparison video, please. At the end of the day, I don't give a rats' ass about technical aspects, since most games come out on X1 and look amazing, can't care less if PS4 has slightly superior framerate or something until it doesn't dramatically affect the gameplay. Watch Dogs isn't 1080p on PS4 either, for example, so why bother? What I do see is that a lot of games I love (or am interested about) will (or came) out on X1, but not PS4: Titanfall, Halo games, Garden Warfare, Sunset Overdrive, probably Phantom Dust, and so on. That is the only thing that matters at the end of the day, since feature-wise, X1 definitely is up there with the PS4 right now.

I had this back on OX and as I remember it the game was far from perfect but had enough going for it that I saw it through to the end. Since I chronically start games and then never finish them that should say something right there. Sort of a dystopian post apocalytic action platform deck building fighting game. You made like a deck of spells I believe and then that was your arsenal to go fight the next arena sort of battle with.

Part of the problem though was that the whole gameplay was really just fighting through a series of arena style fights in the same locations. I think they were mostly 1v1 affairs against the AI too. They might also have been dirty cheating SOBs. The story line also was entirely forgettable, only thing I can recall is that
the dust is like people's souls or something
. Not sure if that's a spoiler but just in case.

If it's the right price, in HD, and/or they've made some improvements I would be interested in revisiting it.

Nice, even more reason to pick it up with my Xbone while it's on sale.

I really hope the Games With Gold sales for Xbox One titles are worthwhile. Took full advantage of Target triple TIV this week and will be looking to go all digital if the prices for Forza/Ryse/DR3 are around $19.99

Id buy Ryse for $20. Hopefully the season pass for that and DR3.

I definitely want a discounted DR3 pass.

I've been debating on upgrading my free Killer Instinct Combo Breaker DLC to the Ultimate one for $20 mainly for the original KI. But I think I'll wait for an eventual price drop and discount. I'd rather spend that money on a real game.

I did enjoy playing some KI today. I suck at it and forgot all my training from launch but managed to win over 10 matches with Thunder in Survival mode. I previously downloaded all the regular characters but it was trying to charge me $5 for Fulgore. Anyone else have this problem? I think he was kind of a bonus character for season one. I tweeted Xbox Support but haven't gotten a response yet probably due to the holiday weekend.

Do you have to download the characters if you have the combo breaker add on?

Yeah. Its not worth the $20-30 it is. Maybe $10 I'll buy it.

Can you upgrade to Ultimate for less than $40? It always said $39.99 for me. Maybe it changed.

That was my thought also. I just want KI classic arcade game. Don't really care for extra costumes for the characters.
Extra costumes is nice, but I don't wanna pay for that. I feel like I was buying a half full capcom game. The KI classic would be awesome. Maybe at $10.

That's mostly for Ultimate Team and a new Kick-Off Mode, it's not the World Cup edition. The WC game includes more features like Captain Your Country, Qualification, WC Stories (I can't remember what the actual name is).

Beautiful Katamari is a short game. Granted, it's got multiplayer, co-op, time attack for every stage, also score hunting, finding gifts and characters to unlock... technically, there is many things to do. It's also true that I played through all the stages of the campaign (10 or so) in less than 4 hours - which included having to retry certain stages multiple times since I wasn't really familiar with the game (never played a Katamari game before). It's a fun game and I don't regret the 5 bucks or so I spent on it, but I can see disappointment in buying this for full price or for much more than a fiver anyway. I recommend the game because it really is hilariously fun, but unless you get addicted to the competition and secret-finding, don't expect to have a long-term fun with it.

So this is happening. Old news, but I found it peculiar.

Agreed, probably not something I'm going to revisit all that much besides collectibles and the dlc levels if they ever get a sale/price drop. I bought BC cause it had been years since I'd played a Katamari game and I don't own a PS3. At this price it is pretty nice, maybe not quite as good as the old games, but it fills a need that nothing else will. It's better suited to a playstation controller but works just fine on 360, unlike MGS.

Also the King of Cosmos is a dick.

Warface is running double XP and double Crowns this weekend until Tuesday.  If you haven't played it yet, you could rank up quickly through the lower levels.
