This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Careful if you get Metro Last Light, has a few gamebreaking bugs.

I got to a part pretty late in the game and can't get any further.

Hate saying it, because otherwise the game was great.

For anyone that uses the cloud saves, do you have problems with it lately? The game saves/loads from the cloud fine but the Xbox doesn't turn off. At All. I have to manually hold the power button for a few seconds until it shuts off. Anyone know why?

For all you Wolf Among Us season pass owners, check your XBox Live Messages. They're sending out codes for episode 2. I Got mine about 10 minutes ago.

Yep, they sent me a code as well.

Also, I'm assuming this is just a temporary solution so that they can satisfy the customers.

You could probably hang onto the code if you're in no hurry to play the episode and just wait until the Season Pass thing is fixed

Awesome! Thanks MS, just got the code, so now I know what I'll do in the morning. Niiiice.

On a side note, this also means Telltale is unable to come up with a solution in the short-term. I hope they won't have such issues every single time an episode of anything comes out...

I redeemed the code because I want to play this, but thinking about it, I'm pretty sure people just have been given an extra copy of Episode 2. Telltale will likely fix this issue down the line, this code seems to mean that it may not be a matter of hours, but more like days or weeks. When they fix it, the Season Pass will probably work (given that there'll be people who buy the pass at a later date too), so patient players (not me) could wait until they fix it. Until then? Expect your favourite auction/trading places filled with Episode 2 codes :p

this is why I didnt redeem mine. But really because of the abundance and that its only worth $5, you wont get much at all. I'll come back to my favorite thread to give away the code if this is the case. Speaking of, I just got my Aliens Colonial Marines CE ($10 from GS no judging!) and dont need one of the codes. First CAG to message me gets it. they expire very soon so youd better redeem it quick

It isn't worth much but it's something, it's probably a code worth keeping for the Pass owners who wouldn't have played the game in the next few days anyway.

No judging for the 10$ deal on Aliens, I would have bit on that too. I spent a similar amount on Bulletwitch so I am in no position to judge.

Mind taking a screenshot of said email?

Nevermind. I misread your original message. Thought you said you got the codes.

I was trying to get through The Witcher 2 on my Xbox 360 since I bought the download some time ago (thanks to this thread) for $10 and heard so many good things about it but the game is too frustrating.  Normally when I quit a game it's because it makes me angry and since I play games to relax, I refuse to play the ones that enrage me.  The Witcher 2 I'm quitting for a reason that's never happened to me before.  I'm in the second town (elf storyline) called Vergen.  The town has a lot of verticality built into it but it's a fucking maze.  The surrounding area and the caves are no better.  Even using the map it's impossible to navigate the place without getting lost and wandering around for a while.  Just trying to figure out how to get to a quest giver in town (which would take 2 minutes in most games) routinely takes me at least 30 minutes.  While it's not enraging like some games are, it's just not a lot of fun and frankly I'd rather play another game than wander around aimlessly trying to figure out which of the many red doors leads to the staircase and which of the many red doors in the staircase to exit from.

I wouldn't recommend The Witcher 2 to anyone unless they've got unlimited time to game and learn the layout of areas.  My kid could design a better town than these game designers.

Anyone else give up on this game for similar reasons?  I liked Metro 2033 quite a bit so I'm going to start playing Metro Last Light now that it's free on PSN.

I know exactly what part you're talking about lmao

But....I was into the story at that point and kept pressing on. I understand what you're saying though. Its part of the reason I'm excited for Witcher 3 but simultaneously dreading it as well. 20% larger than Skyrim? Do games really need to be this damn expansive? It just sounds so fuckin daunting.

Yeah, pretty much. I didn't hate the game or anything but I just found it slow, overly complicated, and just kind of boring. And I can deal with so-so gameplay if I'm interested in the story or there's something else compelling about the experience, but nothing in the story or characters in TW2 made me want to care about it. Ah well, you win some you lose some.

I am having the same issue and found the same links you have and yet I also find many gamers who say, they have completed the game several times including in Dark Mode. I will slog through it but in small doses.

At some point, the game world is big enough - I couldn't agree more. With Skyrim, at some point I just had to force myself to do the main quests and the quests that had achievements as I assumed those were the most interested parts of the game. There was too much content and too much to explore. I thought the story for TW2 was alright but it isn't enough to keep me playing.

I'm not upset that I bought it for $10. It was definitely worth a shot and if it wasn't so frustrating I would have played through it all. I don't think it's as good as people had led me to believe though.

I am having the same issue and found the same links you have and yet I also find many gamers who say, they have completed the game several times including in Dark Mode. I will slog through it but in small doses.
Good luck.

I was trying to get through The Witcher 2...

While it's not enraging like some games are, it's just not a lot of fun....
Similar boat, I just gave-up even earlier than you. I grabbed the Enhanced Edition for a steal (I think like $15?) and wanted to jump right into this adult-targeted fantasy world. As soon as I realized the combat alone was so tedious and "involved" as it was, I hitched my wagon back to "funner" horses--namely the eighty-bajillion hours worth of tasks that I could actually complete in Skyrim (which isn't to say I actually have completed more than 40% of the main game but damnit if I'm not trying!)--and never looked back, sadly.

I'd like to thank the users that gave me a hearty recommendation for Catherine... Other than the fact that it makes me want to rip my fucking hair out, it is an awesome game. I have never been so frustrated or bored in a game - and yet, absolutely unable to stop playing. I'm not sure whether I love it or I hate it.

For example, you seem to sit in the bar for hours every night. I could just say - "F it. I'm out." and go home, but I'm afraid that I may miss something that someone says that I may find interesting. So, instead, I sit and drink. But nothing interesting happens, I decline or reply to a couple of texts and then leave anyway... Like I said - I don't know whether to love it or hate it.

I don't play games to feel like I slogged my days home as if I was at work....I play for fun, and I thought Witcher 2 was just no fun at all. Maybe it's my age, but I'd much rather play a game like Sleeping Dogs or even a more linear Alan Wake than Witcher, because I can stop and come back to those and still remember everything. With the Witcher it was not only too many details for me to pick it right back up, it wasn't fun enough to warrant the effort.

Haha, Days 1 through 3 kind of felt like that to me. By day 5 or 6 I realized that I was in fact bored to death. I didn't even bother finishing it.

Honestly, Witcher 2's town and world layouts were fine, the problem was the map system was garbage. It was frustrating and not accurate at all.

This guy is annoying but shows the flaws very well

You probably have missed stuff.

If you don't talk to all the sheep during the night and respond in the right way, you'll miss out on stuff in the bar.

The game is overall awesome and a very unique experience

Lol I haven't given up on it but I did delete it right now to make some room and finish up some of the other GonD games I have remaining. While I've only played a little bit, I don't think I'll give up because it's interesting but I suck balls at the combat.

Yeesh. The Witcher isn't that hard. I found the combat to be challenging but fair. And I found all of areas really fun to explore (I'll admit they can get needlessly hard to navigate). Stoked for Wild Hunt!

I wanted to love The Witcher 2, I really did. The storyline, from the few hours I saw, looks good. The characters and worlds fascinating, so much potential and everything. But it just wasn't fun for me. Granted, I prefer action-RPGs over hardcore ones, but the fights just felt like engineering or something. It felt overly complicated and not fun, despite it being deep. I just couldn't get over the fact that the thing I'll do the most in the game (battles) is something I can't enjoy, and I have a way too big of a backlog to just get over it and spend dozens of hours on a game I don't enjoy playing, but I enjoy "living" (looking at it, storyline, etc.). If this was a 6 hours campaign I might get over it, but as it is I can't. I gave up a long time ago, luckily I got it for free. I might restart it one day but it'll likely stay forever in the "looks good but it's definitely not something I enjoy playing" pile. Along with Bioshock and Dishonered, unfortunately: while I enjoyed those 2 games FAR more than TW2, they still "felt wrong" in many ways, and my main push to continue was seeing the fascinating game world and storyline, but eventually my interest faded. I loved the presentation but did not enjoy the gameplay, just like with The Witcher 2. I can hardly finish an 8-10 hours game when that happens, let alone an epic RPG bonanza.

I liked Bioshock a good bit though I felt it was a bit long.

Dishonored - I wholeheartedly agree with. I just don't see the appeal of the game. I don't like stealth games but it was supposed to work for non-stealth players anyway then they keep reminding you of how much you're fucking everything up by killing people. Meanwhile the "good" way to deal with the main characters in the game are beyond fucked up. Send a woman to a foreign country where she will be a sex slave, have two horrible brothers disfigured and enslaved in their own slave mine, and generally torturing people to death. These acts are not the "good" way to deal with people. A swift death would have made more sense as the good way. This game's morality is fucked.

Damn, reading all that made me want to play Dishonored even more. Wish I hadn't jumped back into AC Bro again, though I am finally enjoying it. I'll have to start it next. The Witcher 2 was my favorite game of last gen. I don't know of the part you guys are having trouble with, as I sided with Roche the first time. The map can be a pain, but the rest of the game made it worth the trouble for me. I still need to replay the other half of the story on Dark mode. Stupid backlog.

Dishonored was never meant to be a happy game. I Mean it's a city ravaged by plague and death and people eaten alive by rats right down to the skeleton. What were you expecting? You to talk the enemies into being good people and from now on and they learn their lesson? These people you had to get rid of were terrible in the first place and ANY stealth game that says you can play it anyway you want including guns blazing just means you won't fail a mission after getting caught, that's it.

If you really want to play dishonored then do it. It's 10-13 hours long if you're slow. You could mainline the game (easy mode with no stealth playthrough) in 4-6. Seriously, the developers clearly counted on the gamer to spend many hours restarting levels after failed stealth runs. If you ignore all that bullshit the game is really short.

Ding ding ding! Dishonored is a stealth game at its core!  You could also finish any Hitman game superfast if you ignore that stealthy bullshit, but where's the fun? At least you have some cool skills when been detected and the game enables the 'rambo frenzy' playthrough but imho if you dont stealth that game you are playing it 'wrong'.

Oh how I miss a Tenchu game... or a remake of Shinobido.

Never played Shinobido, but god damn would I love another Tenchu game. The last was good and they had a great idea with that MP.

I've been starting games on the hardest difficulty they allow forever now. Don't think I could do an easy run, even though my gaming time has become quite small these days. I've broken down and dropped to medium a few times lately, Max Payne 3 being an example of one game I just could not stand on hard mode. I love stealth games, and would love another Tenchu!
