This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I Spent a dollar and four cents for a Lord of the Rings online game so I guess by that standard I'll get Bejeweled. C'mon more XBLA games later in the night...

Bejeweled 3 for 1 dollar. Almost the only PopCap game I'm missing at this point on 360. Sold.
I was actually playing it last night. Why bother getting Candy Crush when there are similar levels in this game? For $1, you can't go wrong.

Riptide and Skyrim are tempting, but I will wait for Riptide to reach $10 and rent Skyrim since I hated Oblivion.

Candy Crush, after a couple levels, only relies on luck or microtransactions to solve levels. While luck will always play a part in these games, Bejeweled 3 takes it to very strategic levels, especially with the Poker and Butterfly modes. Brilliant game, too bad it doesn't have multiplayer like Blitz, but there's so many single player game modes that it hardly matters.

To further explain this, and to recommend this to others: Bejeweled is a fun casual game you already played in form or another, but Bejeweled 3 takes it to a whole new levels. Tons of very different game modes: along with the usual classic mode, a Zen mode where you can change visuals and sounds, a lightining mode which is Bejeweled Blitz on steroids, a genius Poker mode where you have to make color combos, a whole Quest mode with tons of different puzzles and scenarios to solve...

Oh, and easy achievements for 1$. 400G.
There's also Diamond Mine mode, which fun fact was the original mode for Bejeweled and is my personel favorite -- you blast away the dirt, rocks and hardened lava blocks to uncover treasure and see how far down you can mine. Yeah the achievements might be easy to get but getting platinum for the poker mode was hella long to achieve. Plus, contrary to previous Bejeweled games, the bonus modes are not locked under tons of hours of grinding! I quite liked B3, wish they came out with another Quest DLC or something for it or yeah thrown a multiplayer mode on there too. Play Blitz (mobile&FB) daily and I tactfully reached 1 M for high score which felt awesome. Candy Crush is for beginners, you want to step up your game, grab Bejeweled 3 as like you said it's much better and lots of strategy involved.

Same for the combat upgrade?
What do you mean? Like the ability to make your skills "legendary" (i.e., prestige them)? If you have the Legendary Skyrim disc, then it should be on disc 1 already (you don't need to do anything). If you have the plain vanilla Skyrim, then you have to do an update/patch to get that. If I'm understanding your question right...

How could I forgot Diamond Mine - that thing is so brilliant, if you're good at it a match can get really long and hectic in that one, but it's so fun. I also spent a lot of time on the FB version Bejeweled Blitz, though I stopped with FB gaming at this point (only thing I played in the past year or so was Candy Crush, which I tried for a couple hours for curiosity's sake), and the fact I managed to get around 1.4M in it gave me a bit of an advantage at B3 (or Blitz on 360). I played B3 a lot on PC, but for 1$ I won't miss out on having it on the 360 too, given that I already own almost everything I wanted to get by PopCap on console despite having played these games on PC to death (Feeding Frenzy 1 and 2, Bejeweled 2 and Blitz, Astro Pop, Peggle + Nights DLC, Plants VS Zombies, Zuma's Revenge). The fact it's the same (easy) achievements as the PC version make me even more sure of this purchase, can't say no to a fun and easy 400G, and my PopCap collection will soon be done as well. It's a win-win situation.

The mounted combat.

Tempted by Skyrim... Almost bought a copy at $10 from BJ's today, but passed. I keep thinking that I will learn to like RPG games...

Already own DI:Riptide from the $10 Best Buy sale.

I actually am not spending as much as I thought I would with these sales. The fact that 6 or 7 were racing games limited my choices (while I love racing games, I don't need 7 of them + Forza:Horizon, F1 Race All Stars, etc...)

God I hate adding more games to a backlog that I know I'll never play.

Yup, only developer that I've bought their games on two platforms, even contemplated Plants vs Zombies on DS, and well I guess Puzzle Quest game too but that was Infinite Interactive. Those games are perfect with listening to podcasts because they don't have a big story.

Apparently I had $1.60 from XBL Rewards. I think this is the first time I was actually able to pay for something entirely with these funds. It's a miracle.

But yeah, anyone thinking about getting Ground Zeroes should pick up Peace Walker today if you haven't played it yet. It's a bit rough being a PSP port, but it's a great game and definitely important to Ground Zeroes' story. Obviously play Snake Eater first too if you haven't.

I completely agree. I spent $2 on the game and came shy of Level 50 before realizing this. It's not a "bad" game (although I've seen "no more moves" prompted often; I've also seen it in Bejeweled 2 but not in 3) but it has flaws and I wish I used those $2 on Simpsons Tapped Out or Plants vs. Zombies 2.

BTW, has anyone tried out Garden Warfare yet?

Bejeweled 3 for $1 is a steal. It's definitely my favorite in the series. Diamond Mine, Butterflies and of course Lightning mode are a blast.

Fun fact: Diamond Mine was Bejeweled's original name before Microsoft made them change it. *The More You Know*

Yeah, Puzzle Quest games are so awesome. I played those two on multiple devices. Such a shame Gyromancer (the Square Enix/PopCap attempt to beat PQ) turned out to be a large meh. That's Square, after all, great promises rarely fulfilled. I usually turn a PopCap game on my PC when I'm on the phone, listening to music or watching a stream: you can literally go out of habit, don't need to concentrate on it at all and it's a great way to pass the time.

Candy Crush is nowhere near as polished as Bejeweled games. From Blitz onwards, they almost completely eliminated the chance of no moves situations by making the game recalculate the gems to drop until it's sure there's at least one move. The only way to glitch this is the notable example in the FB version of Blitz, where if you make an invalid move while the gem is falling, sometimes it doesn't go back to its place and you can "break" the available move. Also the graphics, the colours, the power-ups, everything's been improved and tested for long, Candy Crush loves to pull off OP power-ups however that completely make it luck or money-based. I played a lot of match-3 games, and none come even close to the level of polish in the actual match-3 aspect to Bejeweled.

Garden Warfare looks amazing, if I don't go overly broke with these daily sales I'm going to pick it up next week when it comes out for 360. The 30$ price point also helps.

Hipster mode on: I used to play it when it was still Diamond Mine. Been a PopCap fan since, and that was a long long time ago. I miss Atomic Poker to this day, that game was golden.

How are the controls for MGS: Peace Walker HD on Xbox? I know many of the previous games in the series had pressure-sensitive buttons and Xbox controller doesn't do that. Does this game require it, and if so, how is it handled on Xbox?

It doesn't need them. PSP didn't have pressure-sensitive buttons. It controls great. 2 and 3 HD had some minor issues, but not Peace Walker.

After looking into it more, Radiant Silvergun seems to be the DOTW on the Japanese store, which leads me to believe that it was lowered on our store purely on accident. That makes me really sad. o(╯□╰)o
What the smeg? It came up seven dollars for me, and I paid seven dollars. I don't know what crazy crap Microsoft is pulling here, but I got the deal that was advertised on the site. You do need to have Gold to take advantage of it, tho.

If I buy skyrim on demand, can I use the dlc that I get from the legendary edition or do I need the disc?
You can the use the dlc no problem, hell you can do that with every game that has the dlc on its own separate disc.

Very happy that nothing today interests me. Bought Dante Inferno's last second and got Soul Caliber yesterday. Two games that I really wanted and for under $10 is awesome!

Today I'm safe, nothing interest me. For those of you that don't own Bejeweled 3, for $1 is a steal. I got it when it was $5 a year or more ago, and I played a LOT of hours, great game.

Bejeweled at that price is a must own

very addictive game for a dollar is a win/win

even though im still gonna hope that Toy Story 3 sumhow goes on sale

dont know why i want it so bad but i do

DLC for some game called Lips. Guessing it's another one of those plastic instrument games. They seem to be pushing a lot of DLC for those lately...

Funny....I'm excited for MGS Ground Zeroes but haven't played Peace Walker even though I'm a big MGS fan.  Just today I was thinking that I should get this game and not it's $5.  Sold.  I'm a happy camper.

goddamnit, I would have bit on Verdict Day and Capcom Arcade Cabinet for those prices. Thanks Graduate School for ruining my life

Holy F***!  Finally a sale on L4D1!

I've been waiting on a GoD sale on it since I got L4D2 for $7 or whatever a year or two ago.

Not to mention MGS PW for $5.  Finally a day of the sale where there's actually things I want on sale!

Fun fact, didn't I just say this... or well I guess not in those words but yeah sorry that's what I meant.

There's also Diamond Mine mode, which fun fact was the original mode for Bejeweled and is my personal favorite -- you blast away the dirt, rocks and hardened lava blocks to uncover treasure and see how far down you can mine.
Yeah contemplating MGS, could probably wait on that --such a huge ass backlog! Doesn't help I keep playing Mass Effect games haha.
