This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Shit. Why didn't they just have a complete ME3 DLC sale? OH well. Still have half of ME2 to go so hopefully by the time I hit 3 they'll surprise us.
The easy answer would simply be "because EA", but who knows. My guess is that they still sell well enough that they figure people will budge over time anyways.

Catherine is £9.89 on UK marketplace (that's like $16), same goes to Kingdoms of Amalur...thanks for nothing MS.

I'm interested in Phantom Breaker, Contrast, but with my huge backlog i think will wait for 75% off deals.

Can anyone tell me what save point I need to play the Citadel DLC? I wanna know because I think I may have a save file too far into the game (not counting the finished game file).

Been waiting for the sale on Citadel. Been keeping my last $10 card from the 3-pack of $10 when they were on sale for $27 at BB for this DLC. Finally have all ME3 DLC now too. Now if only more XB1 games would go on sale. I did see Powerstar Golf but that game is a buy at $10 or lower mo.

Well, it looks like (from xbldb) that I missed previous sales on both Omega and From Ashes. I have Leviathan from a previous sale, and it looks like I'll get Citadel now, but I'll probably have to wait quite a while for either of the other two to go on sale again. :wall:

Well I guess I'm getting skate 2 and mirrors edge,

I have been trying to fill my 320 gig with games I don't have lol.

TY Amazon Credit & Xbox

They are godsend

I'm glad Catherine is 13€ here, I almost cave in for a 10€ price against my fourth directive. Now i can save my money and my dignity.

I don't think it matters. I played Citadel after finishing the game. Post-game, it bumps you back to pre-mission, I think Priority: Cerberus Headquarters.

Yeah, any time after Priority: Citadel II ([customspoiler=Spoiler]Udina's coup attempt[/customspoiler]) and before Priority: Cerberus Headquarters. I would actually recommend playing it right after you beat the game and it returns you to the Normandy before Cronos Station. Even though it takes place before the last mission chronologically, it feels more like an epilogue to the whole trilogy.

Surprised when I read that Mass Effect 1 wasn't a Games on demand title. It used to be. I bought it around the time ME 3 came out because the disc version was hard to find at the time. Not sure when they took it down.

Mass 1 is a GOD....the rest are not. $14.99 US

hmm....always wanted to try this R.A.W. game out. Anyone have first hand opinions?
I really enjoyed it. Felt like Baldur's Gate. However, it's more fun co-op. Biggest problem is that co-op partners progress doesn't save. Huge flaw.

When a co-cop character joins, they are level'd to your level. But their gear is shit. So before you quit, you need to take their gear into your inventory. Then save. Problem is, the game only saves when you beat a stage.

EDIT: Words on Moon Diver? Looks like Final Exam may be my only buy.

I grabbed Shank 2 because, well, who wouldn't at that price? I feel sorry for those of you buying Mirror's Edge and want to go for the No Guns achievement. That game had so much potential and then, guns happened. Talk about something that'll truly ruin your experience.

The No Guns achievement isn't that hard to get.

The sale is (x)% off the original price, not a straight conversion. That's why, even though Canada is right here, some of the game prices can be higher during a sale.

Whoever brought up the ME DLC sale in 2010 (it was actually 2010 not 2011) I hate you. I literally bought all the ME2 DLC except for Overlord a week before that as an end of semester treat to myself....shamed my CAG ways :(

So I'm going to make a last minute decision on Powerstar Golf. Does anyone know if it is supposed to stop being on sale today? And around what time? I'd prefer to buy it when I get home so I can use amazon credit to get an Xbox gift card, but I'm thinking the price might change by then...

That sucks, I probably would have purchased it if not for this misfeature.

So is Citadel the biggest piece of DLC on Xbox Live?  At 4 GB it's pretty crazy, that's bigger than some Games on Demand.

I'm still happily downloading it though.  :)

Help me out guys, should I buy Kingdoms or Citadel? I've been looking at Kingdoms for a while now, and of course I, like many others, have been waiting for Citadel to go on sale. I don't think I have enough cash for both :( Decisions. Decisions. :wall:
The Kingdoms DLC has been on sale a few times now, ME DLC rarely goes on sale. You'll have a better chance of getting Kingdoms on sale later.

Gonna pick up Shank 2 and Mirror's Edge for sure.

Possibly Catherine, although I see it's only $20 on amazon for a new disc copy.

I wasn't able to get a Quick Match in Phantom Breaker last night after several tries... Is the online community dead?
It's been pretty dead for the few months I've had it. Never found a matchmade game. I've got a few friends that own it that I play with occasionally. Add me if you want and we can at least do some 2 player.

I have the Kurisu DLC too.

Oh yeah, Catherine is shit, everybody. The block puzzles quickly shift from "tolerable but not fun" to "super difficult and definitely not fun" after you've played for awhile and the story is god awful (does anyone over the age of 15 really think relationships are like this?).

I know no one seems to be bringing it up, but don't buy Final Exam. It's an unimaginative hack and slash and the co-op isn't even fun. Not worth it unless it's $2 or less.

I literally cannot disagree more about the game.

Also, how have you not had a relationship like the one in the game? That has seriously been how quite a few of my more major relationships have played out. The cutscenes are well animated and the story is engrossing.

Is the online pass needed for any thing in KOA? After paying for the game, dlc, and an online pass it might be better to get it new or from gamefly.

What's the word on next months games for gold? Is Microsoft going to give anything free for Xbox One? It feels like Sony is doing everything right and Microsoft could care less about giving anything away.

ALSO-the original American McGees Alice is free to download and play (through madness returns menu) since EA did away w online passes
Thanks for mentioning that. Make sure this information is in the OP.

Looks like I need to go get another 32gb flash drive.. Filled up everything from these deals, original 20gb hard drive and 2 32gb flash drives.
I have about 10 GB left on my 320 GB drive. Can I use a portable drive for extra storage or do I have to use a flash drive?

I did a bit of research on Blood Knights. It's by the team that did Venetica, features a hot vampire chick, and has easy achievements. I'm pretty easy to please so that was enough for me.
Never heard of Venetica, but I'm downloading the demo anyway.

Contrast is pretty cool. It's similar to Limbo in that there's a lot of weird platforming (and a lot of trial/error) but you have to create own "platforms" by shining light on objects to make a shadow. Only thing, there's some glitches (from what I've seen on Youtube), but it's nothing game breaking, just funny.
This game sounds familiar. I checked on my PS3 and I see that I didn't buy it and was confusing this with a game called Closure. Are the two games similar?

Blood Knights is mediocre. I lost interest 20 minutes into the game. Phantom Breaker is great if you like side scrolling beat em up games. No idea about the other two.
Decided to try them. I'm a softie for side scrollers. Speaking of which ...

Also for that price everyone should buy Shank 2. It's fucking awesome.
Finally a Shank sale. I am definitely purchasing this. Would be funny if Shank 1 was one of the free games next month.

Oh yeah, Catherine is shit, everybody. The block puzzles quickly shift from "tolerable but not fun" to "super difficult and definitely not fun" after you've played for awhile and the story is god awful (does anyone over the age of 15 really think relationships are like this?).
Sword Art Online says hi.

I know no one seems to be bringing it up, but don't buy Final Exam. It's an unimaginative hack and slash and the co-op isn't even fun. Not worth it unless it's $2 or less.
The fact that they parody horror movies has me interested enough to try the demo. Under "related" it mentions Serious Sam Double D XXL (fun game) and Orc Attack (fart game; truly crappy) so I'm curious to see where Final Exam falls.

Count me in as a fan of Dead Space. It's the only game series I've experiences where watching my character die in gruesome ways was fun (Limbo comes in second).

Current demo download queue: Final Exam, Contrast, Phantom Breaker, and Blood Knights.

Current game download queue: Tales of Vesperia and Duke Nukem Forever.

Current wishlist: Faster internet.

I couldn't agree more.

I never understood all the praise/love this game got. The gameplay sucks and the story feels like it's written by a 12 year old who has no idea what a relation is.

Is the online pass needed for any thing in KOA? After paying for the game, dlc, and an online pass it might be better to get it new or from gamefly.
All GoDs come with online passes.

Regardless, EA made the pass free now anyways.

They don't really do a good job of parodying anything, though. It's more like they tried to make Left 4 Dead and Borderlands into one game and failed miserably. It's far more towards Orc Attack on your scale as its low production values and poor writing doesn't get it anywhere close to the greatness of SS DD XXL.

What's the word on next months games for gold? Is Microsoft going to give anything free for Xbox One? It feels like Sony is doing everything right and Microsoft could care less about giving anything away.
It could be a while before MS hands out any free XB1 games (F2P games aside). The Tomb Raider game that was released four years ago was only just recently made available for free. When compared to Sony, MS's free game program is still in its infancy.

Anyone want to sell Contrast? For $5 I'd probably just go for it but I'm waffling at $7.49. This feels like a game that will be on sale again in the future.
