This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I would have bought more but MK wasn't available in Australia and a lot of the GoD titles were double the price here than what they were back in the USA. To be honest I'm almost hoping that the DOTW is something I already have as my wallet and backlog could use a break.
Oh yeah, you guys still have that a-hole who fought tooth and nail to keep adult-rated games out of Australia. Sorry about that!

Sorry to hear about your experience, but the press A to continue thing is pretty much the essence of older RPG's, whose structure Puzzle Quest 2 resembles a lot. The no more moves is pretty rare if you understand the game by the way, in fact it can be used strategically along with magic to make sure it never happens when it's your turn. Bejeweled 3 is a great game and I can't stop recommending it, but Puzzle Quest 2 has an extremely long campaign with multiple very different characters, tons of loot, plenty of side-missions and online play. That's a lot of content. Comparing it to Candy Crush which is only based on luck after 10-15 levels is absolutely out of place, since PQ2 requires strategy and logic (sorry if you didn't notice that), while success in Candy Crush only depends on your board, and how lucky you get with the random drops after a while - or how much you're willing to spend on boosters, gold or whatever. The fact you didn't understand Puzzle Quest 2 doesn't mean it's more repetitive than Candy Crush (are you for real? how long did you play the game to even say that? CC has like 2 gamemodes, PQ2 has different kinds of battles, forging, multiplayer, etc.), nor it means that it's a bad game which most certainly isn't.
I have never seen an RPG with so much text. Even Final Fantasy went into [and finished] a battle with less text and moved much faster than this. I see the potential for the gameplay (especially with multiplayer) but the execution was way too repetitive for my taste. I will admit I laughed at the idea of matching door-like gems in order to open a door. But again, the execution could have been better. I hope the first Puzzle Quest wasn't like this too.

I won't repeat why I eventually stopped Candy Crush, but my point was having Bejeweled 3 for a dollar and them charging three time the amount for Puzzle Quest 2 is lame. Even Jewel Quest, which copies Bejeweled 3's "cover the board" level, would be too much at $3. I guess I am just burnt out by these gem matching games in general (hence my recommendation for Zuma).

Ah, I almost forgot the joys of mana drain. That crap happens constantly in PQ2. Pretty sad when you're not even trying to attack or defend, just making plays to salvage the board.
Fortunately, it would only happen once during a level. It's also annoying when you can't find four shapes to match for an extra turn ... until your turn is finished and the pattern forms for your opponent's move. It took a while for Candy Crush to get to a "no more moves" screen, but early in a game like I faced in Puzzle Quest 2 is frustrating.

guess I'll go ahead and grab Arkham City and Dirt 3 then.  Need to use that credit for something and it isn't going to be BLOPS.

I don't plan on getting the DLC for Black Ops II since I sold it months ago but still a good deal for those looking to get into the Zombie maps (and achievements). It's good to have off weeks though so I can play through my backlog lol.

Alright, pulled the trigger, pun intended, on RR: Unbounded mainly for that track editor. I'm also a fan of Bugbear and the Flatout series. I want to get Driver: SF but I'm gonna put that on the list to pick up the physical copy in probably 4 to 6 months from now lol.

Nothing to see here folks. Go back to playing Bejeweled 3 and wonder why you're playing Bejeweled 3 and look and see 3 hours have passed. Nothing to see...

I think it's amusing how we're all into these daily deals and the weekly deals are damn good, I know I'm picking up a few things to add to the backlog. Then every night we're tapping refresh on xbldb at 7:00 PM (est) being all into it and having a good time.

Then next week it'll be a sale on Bioshock 2 DLC and everyone will be all "WTH! PS+ is giving away 2014 Corvette Stingray's and we get this shit!"

I say that lovingly, being a tried and true CAG for a long while now. It's just funny. We're funny bitches.
I said this last week and I stand by it.

Limbo worth it at that price..? I know it's really a short game with no replay value..
Definitely. And I disagree about "no replay value". Going back to replay some of the levels I forget how to solve some of the puzzles and it becomes fun again.

And it's fun to kill your character in various ways.

I just want to know who green lights these kinds of sales... If it's M$, do they ACTUALLY think anyone's going to buy this shit??? If it's Activision, do they ACTUALLY think anyone's going to buy this shit? Seriously... Is ANYONE going to buy this shit???

You realize that CAG's are the minority and majority of people as evidence by sales are huge CoD fans?

Thanks for all the posts about Oblivion, I decided to pick it up.  At $3.74 I'll get some value out of it for sure.  Also grabbed Puzzle Quest 2, which makes my haul so far:

-Soul Calibur 2

-Bejeweled 3

-Pool Nation

-Oblivion

-Puzzle Quest 2

I am considering the following and would love some recommendations:

-Dirt 3

-Ridge Racer Unbounded

-Motocross Madness

-Driver San Francisco

-Limbo

Also, is it bad that I'm thinking of getting Mass Effect and Arkham City even though I own disc copies of both games?

Only on CAG will you find a bunch of entitled people whining about a bad sale after being spoiled by a whole week of amazing sales.

Geez, get over yourselves.

Soooo... With these sales it's time to see if i will pull the trigger on Alan Wake and Rock Band Blitz. Well any advice on Blitz is highly apreciated.

Didn't pick up a single thing all week. Almost picked up a couple of backlog fillers, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Going to bite on Ridge Racer's DLC and possibly the core game though. Wanted to get a physical copy from the Microsoft store a while ago, but they sold out and I haven't seen anything close to it since. I'd better'd decide soon since time's almost up.

So in the end, looks like I've added-

Mass Effect

Viking

TWD:S2E1

Pool Nation

Arkham City

Dirt 3

-to my ridiculous backlog.

Not bad considering I used only Microsoft point that I got free through Bing Rewards.

Have enough left over for Driver:SF, just not sure I want it.

It's not entitlement so much as "don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining."

Black Ops 2 came out at the end of 2012. If it wasn't a yearly game franchise AND didn't rely so heavy on an online community AND it was more expensive to buy it physically, then it might be a good deal.

No one reasonable is looking for anything spectacular. At worst, people will call the choices boring like GTA V or Diablo III.

Aw, where's the fun in that?

For the record, I really enjoyed the past week of sales. Only the last day (T*HQ games? Seriously?!) was kind of crummy, but we had six great ones!

So hey, question time. Is Driver: San Francisco worthwhile? I'm looking for a fun arcade racing game, and this one sounds like it'll fit the bill. Then again, I thought the same thing about Ridge Racer: Unbounded, and look where THAT got me! I'm hoping Driver doesn't put me through the ringer the way Unbounded did. I have heard it's tough, but I'm hoping it's not "stonewall you at the first stage" tough like Unbounded.

If I absolutely loved Need For Speed: The Run but sold NFS: Rivals (for profit) after playing it for two hours, which other racing games would I enjoy?  Driver San Fran? That Vin Diesel game?  What I liked most was the story and racing across the country.  Also: the controls felt perfect and didn't rely on mario-karting the entire game.  Grid 2: I'm looking at you.

NFS: Rivals was about as much fun as going to the amusement park, running excitedly to the bumper cars because you saw that first, and finding out you're now forced to spend the entire day on them instead of going on roller coasters and eating giant turkey legs.

RE: FPS's: Anyone who wanted those games already bought them day one for $59.99+tax at Gamestop and didn't feel the least bit ripped off.
