  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

"Still Alive" is a free Rock Band track. There must be some pricing problem. I remember reading when the 50% off pre-Rock Band 3 dlc sale started some of the free songs ended up being set at $1. I wonder if that was never fixed.

 
A little off topic question for you people. Is anyone here part of the update beta program? And if you are, can you tell me, have you had any errors where your disc doesn't work, disc read errors (needs to be cleaned) and/or the game craps out while making a noise from the TV?

I just got off the phone with support and they have had issues with people doing that.

I hope Microsoft fixes it soon and we get some kind of compensation for it, lol.

Usually a screen shot taken of the tweet would indicate the time/date, even if it had a picture.

 
I wouldn't pay for Hitman Absolution, but would love to have it for free (same as it happened with Sleeping Dogs). Been wanting to play it only for the sado-nun's trailer it had.

Too good to be true. Those are my expectations from GwG, although i don't own Absolution so it would be nice. Hoping some good sales this week, i need to spend $6.25 before this month ends for My Rewards, that is if something worthy is on sale. 

 
I hope it is something else because I already have the game on disc (360) and digitally (PS3), so this won't add any value for me. But, as I had said several times, it won't bother me any either because I enjoy the program and the direction this will hopefully lead to with MS. Has this program been confirmed to be permanent at this point or is it still something that was extended past its first end date (I am referring to its originally announced end date of December 2013)?

Yep, dirty disc problem and have to reset the system fully to get it to work, there's a couple threads over on the xbox forums about it as well, kind of sucks :/

 
I had the dirty disc problem too. Just hold down the power button until the X1 turns off and it will work. Pretty much any problem on X1 you just hold the power button down until it turns off.

yeah it's a known issue

"OVERALL STATUS UPDATE: We have fixes identified for all three Blu-ray software issues that are undergoing testing before releasing them in a system update to the preview community. Testing will be carried out over the next few days to ensure that no new issues are discovered with these fixes, as well as with additional fixes that are being bundled in the next system update."

 
I still have no idea why people volunteer to be free guinea pigs for dashboard betas. I admire your bravery/loyalty. They should at least give you some Microsoft monies for your troubles or something. :bouncy:

That really sucks that they took them down ahead of time. That doesn't even make any sense, if it was license issues they'd have a set expiration date that I doubt would be any earlier than the last day of the month.

In the past though certain dashboard sales (Sales + Specials for example) were inaccessible by people in the beta, so for months people missed out on sales and deals which caused a fair bit of grief for certain CAGers if I recall correctly. The same happened with people who were beta testing the new dash and had their points transfered to money early, it caused a bit of confusion or inability to easily purchase things for a bit. It's the risk/reward thing but IMHO in the past the reward has never really amounted to the level of risk.

 
Absolution....played that last week and the game froze, ruining my game save after I had spent tens of hours playing. I promptly deleted the game.

That exact same thing happened to my brother on the PS3 version. I did some research and apparently thats a common problem with this game. Everyone should back their saves up when playing it.

 
Oh man that sucks, I would be pissed. I mean we don't even like to restart a mission let alone an entire game now and days lol.

You have to back it up with cloud saves, can you transfer a save from the hard drive to cloud save or do you have to start the game using the cloud save option? Oddly enough, I haven't used cloud saves too often.

 
Decided to download Warface for a lark. First it takes up 2.5 Gb of precious space and now is asking for another 3.7 Gb (larger than the initial game download, what the fuck?) for some bullshit before I can play? Yeah. fuck that. Deleted. Hope Microsoft didn't delay Titanfall just to get more players for this shit.

Yeah but you aren't running into space issues on a NEW console. I'm constantly juggling save data and games trying to fit new shit in on my 360, and I even upgraded the size a few years back.

And yes, I am a little butthurt that I didn't get into the closed beta, but seriously, this is one of the main issues that Defiance faces as well. These are not PCs we're running this shit on. Having patches take up 1.2GB each is not viable for life expectancy of a game on a console with limited hard drive space. And this is just THE BETA, like you said. Three patches taking up 3.6 Gb is only the beginning of a slippery slope. It's not free if you can't play it due to hard drive constraints.

And yes, I am a little butthurt that I didn't get into the closed beta, but seriously, this is one of the main issues that Defiance faces as well. These are not PCs we're running this shit on. I've got a 250GB HDD in my 360 and I'm down to less than 20 GB of space. I preferred 360 to PS3 the whole last gen so I've got a good 150GB of my 250 on that console left. I'm shift all my purchases to PS3 because I"m not buying another last gen console or modifying an unofficial HDD (or buying another HDD for that matter) for a last gen console.

The radio is the worst with the annual OH NOES I'VE BEEN FIRED! I can practically hear my eyes rolling on April 1 while driving into the office with the radio on.

So apparently I can't even import World Tour now. fucking Activision pulled it early. I'm assming import from other games are also not possible now. I am way madder than I should be, was hoping to at least import GH 5, World Tour and Smash Hits (already have Band Hero, don't care enough about GH: Metallica).

Why set a deadline of 3/31 if you're not even going to follow it?

I decided to start it at about 11:30 last night thinking I would play an hour or so. Bad idea. Finished it at about 5 am. It was awesome. So far the best DLC I have ever played. Completely made buying the Season Pass at launch worth the wait.

I'm a shameless and hopeless mega-fan of Mass Effect and it's DLC, like Lair of the Shadow Broker and the Citadel.  But, Burial at Sea episode 2 very well might be the best story based DLC of all time.  I haven't even beaten it yet and I'm blown away. 

Especially with the season pass, any self respecting Bioshock fan is nuts to not get this.  Such a good deal for the quality of content you're getting. 

 
It was nice to be back in the dark Rapture environment with Burial at Sea.  I don't have the same love for it that so many people seem to though.  I think it was because I played it on 1998 mode for the achievement and stealth just doesn't really fit with a Bioshock game imo.  I might have to replay through it on normal and I think I'll like it much more.

I despise "morning zoo" radio. I can take political talk over that any day. Most days, it's music.

Word is that Hitman: Absolution is the first GWG game for April.
 
Damn, the desire to move to Brazil for Tooie is more and more tempting. :whistle2:(

Edit: Just checked the Guitar Hero Facebook. Apparently I'm not the only one who's mad about the premature delisting. Maybe they'll do something last minute..?  :pray:

It is rumored that Terraria might be the second title...but welp as I said before April Fools is near so we will still have to wait for a confirmation for that...I don't have Hitman Absolution yet but I won a copy  of Terraria for my Xbox and öater a copy for PC sooo I already have that, nontheless, both would be awesome titles...maybe the interview recently about how GwG should feel more true to gamers wasn't big talk at all..

 
I'd love it to be Terraria. Having more friends to play could be fun. We tried playing PC version because it was cheaper, but the controls. Mother of pur the controls were terrible compared to 360.
 
More freebie GH tracks are gone. I updated my post with the list about 2 pages back.

Leave it to Activision to manage to piss people off despite announcing a delisting in advance.

 
I just hope it's something I already have (like, Hitman Absolution) or something I would never play (like, Terraria) so I can actually work on my backlog... still haven't "finished" Civ Revolution yet, nor Dead Island...

They're a few months apart, but the difference is Square frequently does insane cleaning house sales on their games only a short while after release and has shown they are fine giving their games away on GWG/PS+. Terraria on the other hand has consistently been on the best selling XBLA games list pretty much since release, and they don't have any reason to give it away now.

I'm also going off of past GWG, which have mostly been older titles whose sales have no doubt trickled down a lot now so they aren't losing much giving it away.

I Only regret not doing the transfers and getting the Street Sweeper Social Club, Bodom and one Muse song I was missing. Though it's Activision, I figured I shouldn't have expected too much.
