This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

What's the deal with the Dead Island: Bloodbath Arena DLC and the Dishonored DLCs? Are any of these extra levels or modes that work on single player?
For Dishonored, skip the trials DLC unless you like arena/trial combat and stuff. The Knife of Dunwall is good so far (about halfway through it).

From a single player perspective, is any of the DLC for Borderlands 2 or Saints Row 4 worth it? Was thinking of getting the Sr4 season pass, but don't want to bother if it's just garbage anyway. Also, Opinions on Harley Quinn's revenge? No idea what Borderlands DLC is any good. A little help?
For Borderlands 2 DLC, I recommend Torgue (because I think the character is funny) and Tiny Tina's. If you only choose 1, get Tiny Tina's as it has the most content and ties into the main story really well.

So I'm not seeing the $14.99 Saints Row 4, nor can I find where it said the game would be on sale (Major Nelson's blog only currently shows the dlc on sale). Am I missing something?

If you enjoyed the main Borderlands 2 campaign on single player, I would recommend getting the Season Pass. All of the DLC's are good (some better than others) and there's a lot of content for $15. Skip the headhunter stuff since it's not much content in comparison (and no achievements). Definitely skip the skins unless you are really into that. The Mechromancer and Psycho packs are good if you want to try different play styles. Mechromancer is definitely my favorite.

Wow quite a list of things on sale this week.  Of all the weeks to do a good sale they do it the week Trials is getting released ensuring anything I buy will sit unplayed on my hard drive.

Anyone know of anywhere selling Dishonored at sub $10?

It was marked down, XBLDB picked up on the change, but hasn't caught the return to full price yet. Major Nelson did have it listed on his blog this morning, he must've edited it.

Contemplated buying and returning the Dishonored GOTY from gamestop but I couldn't stomach it just to save $5-6. I will return to nab the trade-in prices but not to get dlc for free... Cag gots to have a code.
I'm the same way. No way I'd be able to look the employee in the face as I returned the game.

And nothing of value will be lost. Man that game was terrible. I love the original Burger Time but something about this new version just didn't work.
Yeah it's not great. Some of the platforming challenges were a little devilish and challenging, but the game was just too floaty and controlled way too poorly for it to be anything else than a major frustration.

How do these pinball tables work? You have to buy the core package, then one of the tables? The "full" label is throwing me off.
You download the main client (which is free), and then buy the packs. The "Full" is added to distinguish it from a "Trial" set, basically the difference between the free version and the full version.

Thanks for the info. So, what's a good table for starters? Street Fighter II is tempting...

The Street Fighter II table I found kinda boring. Mostly because it's one of the earlier tables, it's not bad, but the tables that were made for FX2 just have alot more shit going on.

I'm the same way. No way I'd be able to look the employee in the face as I returned the game.
Nice to see that there are some folks in the thread with ethics.

If Borderlands 2 was any cheaper I'd probably rebuy the main game just to avoid disc swapping, but for $7 I'll let it pass.

Hey I catch shoplifters for a living and I do the DLC thing at Gamestop... I just don't like Gamestop. Also employees do it there, and they don't have to pay because they can check merchandise out.

Anyone have any wild guesses about tonight's possible deals around Deadlight?

WHAT?! What do you mean they can check stuff out? Is that official company policy (a perk)? Or do you mean employees who "check stuff out" over night on their own and then return it asap the next morning?

No it's a perk... it's so they can gain better knowledge of the product. Before I got into loss prevention I worked at Gamestop for 3 years.

Hey guys, we've got a Pinball FX 2 thread. Discussed in it a lot of people share their love of the Marvel (Avengers Chronicles) tables, PvZ and the Star Wars one however got mixed thoughts. Ms Sploison man and Spider-Man are two tables that you can get HUGE ass scores and are a few of my favorites. One thing about all the newer tables for FX 2 to me however is the annoying over abundant voice and dialogue though.

Last edited by a moderator:
Are you serious?!?! How long can they "check stuff out" for?
Have you never purchased anything "new" from Gamestop? That's why "new" at Gamestop is never new by normal standards. Of course this is partial exaggeration, but about half of the "new" items i've purchased at Gamestop have been opened and used (I assume).

Don't go saying that around here. Last time I mentioned info like this, some douchebag got butthurt and talked crap.
I'm not offering a value judgment -- just saying you can do it, and that I know you can (and that DLCs from the disc usually work with GoD versions; I know for a fact they do with Skyrim) because of experience. YMMV on whether you think it's ethical or moral.

The guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Gamestop employees haven't been able to "rent" games for years
They still can... I do know what I'm talking about. I'm still friends with everyone that still works for Gamestop that I worked with before and they check out games over night all of the time.

Its a 24 hour rule btw.

Also ultimately it doesn't matter if it's against company policy or not... it still goes on and it's still another reason to Jack DLC from GotY discs if you can.

I left the company because of how they handle their policies my store manager was modding consoles in the back of our store. I reported it and it got me transferred and nothing more than a stern talking to him.

Its a joke. Gamestop is a joke.

Thanks for the info. So, what's a good table for starters? Street Fighter II is tempting...
The only two tables I didn't enjoy were Street Fighter and Rocky and Bullwinkle. I've enjoyed Star Wars, the Marvels, and most of the individual tables. I'll prob get the rest since these hardly go on sale. I'm even thinking about getting the Pinball FX Classics even though most have said it's not worth it.

Then they're breaking company policy
I also worked at gamestop years ago and keep in touch with old friends. The policy is still the same. The reason for renting out games, is so the employees can gain a better knowledge of what they're trying to sell. "You should buy the new Call of Duty bro!! I was playing it last night and it's sic yo!!!"......I'm joking here, but you get the idea. Hell, the "renting" thing is aimed for gamestop employees who look like they don't know a lick about gaming. You know you've come across those employees.....Me/ customer - "Can I get a used copy of New Super Mario Bros. U please?"......Employee - "Um, what system is that for?" *FACEPALM*

I remember our Manager wouldn't let us "rent" out games if we weren't meeting our quota for the week, selling magazine subs and getting reservations. Then our renting privledge was revoked for a week. Jerk........

Naturally Pinball FX tables finally go on sale and Im down to my last ~$7 MS bucks.  Deciding on balance of the force, Star wars Pinball was ok but not as great as the original marvel tables.  Also think I may want civil war as well since I love most of the marvel tables.

Ive also been spoiled on the early table bundles which came with 4 tables instead of just 3. Thankfully you can try all the tables before you purchase them.  All the early ones, like rocky & bullwinkle & SF2 are very plain and boring. I didnt bother geting those 2, most of the others are fun.  If you just get one pack, Id say get the original marvel tables, as all of those are fun, except Iron man. I dont know why they made that table so hard!

At this point I played nearly every Pinball table, some to death. In general, I suggest the Marvel and Star Wars tables very much: they're colourful, creative, original and very fun, plus some allow for some sick scores as well (someone mentioned Spiderman and I agree, that's one of the ones with the highest scores). I also very much recommend Ms Splosion Man, Plants VS Zombies because they're easy, fun, again very colourful and bright, and again allow for some badass high scores, plus the Football themed one because it's plain awesome. Special mention goes to Epic Quest: it's like a mixture of a rogue-like, an RPG and the pinball, you level up your character from time to time (and progress is saved after a match), finding new loot every single time, getting XP for slaying monsters, and as you become stronger and stronger, high scores also become easier. It's probably the most addictive pinball experience around, and that table is also designed well and similarly balanced. Check it out. Anything I feel like NOT recommending? Older tables, like the Pinball FX1 tables, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Street Fighter 2, and so on. They are visibly old, the table design is much worse than newer ones, plus they're also a lot harder and less fun in general, it's hard to keep the ball in play most of the times and point rewards are pretty low. They're also a lot less varied and interactive than newer tables, which have some impressive graphics, often storylines, very unique missions and lovely designs. They offer so much more content than older tables, so if you are not planning to buy all the tables, I recommend selecting between newer ones, maybe based on what franchises you like (there's tons of Marvel IPs to choose from for example). Chances are you'll end up like me: I always liked pinball, but I never imagined they could make me buy so many separate packs, so I kinda ignored Pinball FX2. That is until they gave the brilliant Paranormal table away for free for a limited time. Spent weeks on that table, and at that point, their trick worked: making me not pay that one table lured me into buying every single table ever. A large chunk at their full price, too. Sigh.

Thank you

Is the Doctor Strange Table worth the price considering it has no achievements? It would be the last table (aside from the Football stuff) that is missing now

Also considering AC Liberation...when I bought the Season Pass for AC IV I had  a 25% discount but wanted to wait at least half off now it's 33% off hum, how long is the story?

How long is ACIV DLC and is it all out yet? I don't own the game, but I've been planning on picking it up for a long time. I'd want the season pass before the cross-buy expires.

Gamestop DOES NOT let employees take home games anymore.....
Well, I'm just saying I talk to my buds who DO rent out games as if nothing has changed. I haven't worked there for years so I haven't asked for policy updates lol Perhaps I will ask them next time I see them. Then again, I might forget..........

Well, if you own every other table, I don't see why not getting it. Sure, no achievements (similarly to the Football stuff), but it hardly gets cheaper than this. I've been playing it an hour or two today, and while I'm not liking it as much as some other Marvel tables (Moon Knight FTW), it's solid, if a bit on the difficult side. Great design, though.

For whatever reason, I purchased the Season Pass, even though I didn't think I'd play the MP (and at $20!). The main piece of content for SP is Freedom Cry, which I sort of lost interest in and didn't finish. Otherwise, the Pass includes all the pre-order DLC, an exclusive ship set (wheel, sail, figurehead), and the wheels/sails/figurehead for Altair and Ezio's ships. Apologies if I misspelled their names, Black Flag is my first AC game.

If you aren't going to play MP, but want DLC, I'd say just get Freedom Cry. I think I lost interest b/c I spent so much time with the main game, as it did seem well-executed.

To add a comment about the SP for Saints Row IV, *if* you loved the main game, the DLC has some funny moments. I personally preferred the Christmas one more than the Dominatrix. Neither takes all that long to beat, though. $3.xx is a nice price. I paid $7 and thought it was an alright value. I loved SRIV, but that was also my first entry into the Saints Row universe (I've since bought SR3, but needed a break after IV).

Wow, I thought it was lazy when they dropped it from 3 cheeves per table to just one, now none? Im not an achievement hound, cause hell some of those cheeves are damn hard, but it's still fun when I see it pop up.

I was never a Dr. Strange fan, which is the reason Id pass on it. Also I guess its hard to actually pay for some of these table when we got so many free off twitter, eh Antarael?

I got to admit aside from Thor and Moonknight I didnt care much for Vengance and virtue. X-men seemed too small of a table without much substance, just like Ghost rider. Avengers chronicles are very well done, but that felt like 3 tables and then the one based on the avengers movie. Once again, too small of a table to me but still has more going on than X-men or ghost rider. If youve read any of the series that the avengers chronicles are based on, except the movie, its amazing how they actually translated the story well into a pinball game.

Is it just me or does Yoda talk too much on the clone wars table? Thats like a huge distraction and he says the same damn things over and over. Any way to turn that off?

Hey guys, we've got a Pinball FX 2 thread. Discussed in it a lot of people share their love of the Marvel (Avengers Chronicles) tables, PvZ and the Star Wars one however got mixed thoughts. Ms Sploison man and Spider-Man are two tables that you can get HUGE ass scores and are a few of my favorites. One thing about all the newer tables for FX 2 to me however is the annoying over abundant voice and dialogue though.
Oh? Which of the three Star Wars packs was getting the hate?

Doesn't bother me at all, but I do see that complaint A LOT over at the PAF forums. Zen should offer an adjustable slider with a few options from mute to chatty.
