This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

As someone else said, this seems like a long overdue DLC sale for February's GwG as well as a sale for Verdict Day when the GoD was on sale (which I passed on and am kind of regretting now).

Edit: So Verdict Day's DLC is confusing as fuck. There's a bunch of complete packs, but I don't know what belongs to what. Hoping someone can figure it out.
Verdict Day was on sale recently at Gamefly, and Newegg. Though if it's GoD you're specifically interested in it'll probably be a long time before it ever goes down again.

Really? What's the going price been? It was like $7 or $8 as a GoD.

Achievements or not, I still need more tables so I can get that stupid ass wizard robe.
Thank you for saying what we've all been thinking.

Urgh, they raised the price of Borderlands 2 a couple of bucks. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it is when you were kind of meh about the original.

(Yes, tablet, I totally meant to type "bvucks." You bvschmuck.)

Wow, I thought it was lazy when they dropped it from 3 cheeves per table to just one, now none? Im not an achievement hound, cause hell some of those cheeves are damn hard, but it's still fun when I see it pop up.

I was never a Dr. Strange fan, which is the reason Id pass on it. Also I guess its hard to actually pay for some of these table when we got so many free off twitter, eh Antarael?

I got to admit aside from Thor and Moonknight I didnt care much for Vengance and virtue. X-men seemed too small of a table without much substance, just like Ghost rider. Avengers chronicles are very well done, but that felt like 3 tables and then the one based on the avengers movie. Once again, too small of a table to me but still has more going on than X-men or ghost rider. If youve read any of the series that the avengers chronicles are based on, except the movie, its amazing how they actually translated the story well into a pinball game.

Is it just me or does Yoda talk too much on the clone wars table? Thats like a huge distraction and he says the same damn things over and over. Any way to turn that off?
Well they hit their limit with 100 Achievements for an XBLA Game that's why...doesn't have anything to do with lazyness but it's still a shame..on the other hand some of those cheevos (especially some Marvel Tables) are especially hard lol...

Well yeah I got quite some tables from Twitter and by Trading later on, but I still bought some whenever they were on sale and I didn't have them already...I know I could play the trial but well...Fear itself is one of my Favorite Tables btw...

And thanks Baboy for your Input! I might consider it but I'm really not sure...

As for the Wizard Robe I already have all the Avatar Stuff...Thanks to a German Guy with the Nickname OrpheusWueste...he has a low GS Score but might be honestly one of the Top Pinball FX 2 Players in the World In-game Scorewise...

EDIT: Just checked it...Number 5 on the World Leader Board...

The achievements for all those tables are hard as fuck! Some of the shit you have to do is more luck than skill.
Yeah, think of it like the Dark Souls of achievements. I believe it was a whole year of playing on and off when I finally unlocked one of the achievements on a table I'd been trying to get. The amount of joy then, it's over 9000!

I was psyched when I finally got it. Then I looked at it...

http://xboxavatargear.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/pinball-wizard-robe-male.png

How is that a robe
I might have worn the hoodie like a week, mostly took advantage of that flame t-shirt though.

I don't mind no achievement for a table, the table itself is what I'm pickin gup and playing.

Spent about an hour with Skulls of the Shogun out of my backlog, I think it is too hard for me.   :whistle2:(  I'm really not very good at these types of games.

Deadlight is showing up for free for me even though my gold ran out.  Tempted to "purchase" it, but I'm sure Microsoft would find a way to charge me for it after the fact.

I played it on ios and it can be punishing but I usually took 45 mins for each level at least so if you're going slow that's not unusual by my standards. Part of the strategy is manipulating the enemy AI. They'll typically go for eating skulls or rice fields instead of attacking sometimes for instance. Or leave a field open to bait them into haunting and then have units nearby to kill them in one turn. Off the top of my head, I would say just eat a lot of skulls ASAP.

I sucked too and pretty much always finished each match after all the enemy ran out of rice and fields to haunt. Still a fun game with some deep strategy. The magic units were fun as well.

Has the DLC for Kingdom of Amalur ever been on sale? I've been putting some hours into it lately, and having a lot of fun, so I wanted to know about the DLC as well.

Thanks. I felt like I was going very slow, which is really the only way I know to really be able to play those types of games. That being said, I'm kind of on a kick to clear out my backlog and 16 more levels times 45 mins per level sure doesn't sound like a great time to me, and that's assuming I beat each level the first time, which absolutely won't happen. Maybe if I were having more fun I'd try and dig deeper, but these games just feel like work to me to an extent.

Also, I had a hard time selecting the right units all the time on 360. How did it play on mobile, did the playing field turn into a muddled mess at times?

So, from the "huge" week sales i narrowed it down to just Pacman. Is it worth the $5?. Thank you so much Bloomy for taking your time sorting out this humongous amount of items for sale, if it weren't for you i know a lot of us would have been smashing our heads trying to figure out what should we be getting.

Imagine Pac-Man Champ, but instead of the usual eating dots business, you're also starting a conga line with a buttload of hungry monsters. The goal is to entice sleeping monsters to chase you, then once you've got a few dozen trailing you, you chomp an energizer and you tear them all a new ghost hole. I'll be frank, I liked Pac-Man Champ better, but this is worth the reduced price. It's bloody awesome to hit an energizer, turn around, and start a domino effect of total carnage.

Somehow I remember it as being $13 or so. All these deals are running together and screwing with my headbrain!

Newegg has it at $10, but it's OOS unfortunately.
According to XBLDB, it was $7.40 about 2 months ago. Which is a really good price, but I think I had to blow my gaming budget money elsewhere that week.

So remind me, is it still hard to remove credit card info from the xbox dashboard console itself? That free month requires inputting it via the console. So I'm wondering if it's still a pain to remove after I obviously turn off autorenewal? Or does inputting on the console automatically input on the website as well and if I cancel it there, it will remove it from the console dashboard as well?

Sorry that's really overly complicated but hey, I'm dealing with Microsoft here. They're so well known for their billing services and accountability ... /s.

How long is ACIV DLC and is it all out yet? I don't own the game, but I've been planning on picking it up for a long time. I'd want the season pass before the cross-buy expires.
I haven't played much of the multiplayer but I enjoyed Freedom Cry. I think it took me about 4 hours or so to complete it with all achievements. I enjoyed Ade more than Edward as well he just seemed like a more interesting character to me, plus he uses a machete so what more could you want lol.

Nothing for me this week.

Already have Batman AC GOTY, Borderlands 2 GOTY, Dishonored GOTY.

Not going to get Batman AO season Pass, waiting on the bundle deal.

AC4 Season Pass is still too expensive, waiting on 50% off.

When will they ever have a complete EA catalog sale!!!

When EA stops being greedy, AKA never.

Speaking of EA, Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare has a new meaty DLC for free. 8 new characters, 1 new map, 200 new customization items, 10 new achievements for 250G, and it's all at the lovely price of free. EA may have bought PopCap, but they still rock as far as fan service goes.

Yeah, 291 items, that's crazy haha. And this is already the second big free pack since launch, I love what they are doing with this game!

Yeah thank god Battlefield got so mangled because I'd guarantee you we wouldn't be getting it like this if that game went by without a hitch. Also, thank god that Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was such a success because PvZ:GW's design and the Garden Ops mirrors many of ME3's multiplayer design and philosophy. I am still shocked that EA hasn't put in a pay for packs with real currency thing although the only thing against that in this case is that this game is competitive as opposed to co-operative with ME3 so you mess up the balance of the game. Still though you could potentially not deal with players who bought the packs by joining classic matches (where everyone is using the default loadouts aside form cosmetic customizations).

I've picked up Headhunter 2,3,4 for Borderlands 2 because I've played the crap out of that game and already had the other DLC when it was on sale -- got Mechromancer as a pre-order bonus picking up the CE -- , State of Decay's Breakdown DLC (god this game is fun) and Pinball FX 2 tables. I picked up the ones I didn't have before -- like Borderlands 2 another game I've played my full share of what I paid for it -- with Dr Strange, Football table and the other Star Wars pack I didn't have.

I will eventually pick up ACIV but I don't see, even with discount, the appeal of its Season Pass. Bundling skins never really interested me, I don't play multiplayer for AC games (it's always been a single player game to me) and the single player mission isn't really ground breaking (as opposed to the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC for ME2).

If I buy the dead island arena dlc can my friends join me and play it with me if they don't buy it? I know some games do that (Fable?) but don't know if this one does

other than the annoying collar in Dead Money they are all pretty solid, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road were the best IMO
Old World Blues is still my favourite by a mile, with Lonesome Road in second. Dead Money is pretty good too (aside from the aforementioned collar). I hated everything about Honest Hearts except for Joshua Graham and the Utah/Mormon references (my girlfriend at the time was from there so it was neat seeing all this Utah stuff she told me about in-game).

Played the first couple sections of deadlight, seems like a pretty solid game, I will prob finish it.
How you will regret those words... took my time to complete the PC version last year, and boy was I disappointed by its clunky controls and general lack of polishness, which will start to surface from chapter 2 on. I think they could've done a much better job with the mechanics, as the art direction, atmosphere, cutscene style and voice acting are above average, but it's the game itself that starts falling apart after a while.

Oh, and they added an extra difficulty level on PC which Xbox lacks, that will give you an alternate ending... "alternate" as in a "what if" scenario, but interesting nonetheless, so you may want to Youtube it out after you've finished :)

So they can release DLC with achievements for free now? That's a nice change. I've only bought the Dishonored stuff so far, thinking about FX2 tables and Pacman DLC. So much stuff on sale, it will probably take me all week to figure out what I want.

i have been waiting for a fallout 3 and NV DLC Sale for a while

I would say i put about over 300 hours into both games

Even though i feel Fallout 3 DLC was better then NV

still to great buggy ass games

And i hope they keep up all the good stuff with Plants vs Zombies

its an amazing and funn game and all the added free stuff just makes it even better

even though i would have no problem dropping down 5 bucks for the latest update

but thankfully we dont

If you have Windows Phone with 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Spartan Assault and Skulls of the Shogun, they cross-buy between the 2 devices. Hopefully 360 and X1 gets added soon. I'd pick up Spartan Assault if it was for all 4 devices.
