This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Granted, I wouldn't have bought the game, but it's a low move if it was Sony anyway. They could have done this long ago, years ago in fact, when a lot of people didn't plan on buying the game yet, they didn't put money down for pre-orders and so on. The game is almost out and they just decided to shelf the X1 version? What the hell? Also there's a whole set of programmers who worked on the port, they'd better have a better explanation than "oh hey Sony didn't want the game on X1 so bye".

This Spiderman thing is definitely an odd turn of events.

I doubt that Sony owning the movie rights to Spiderman has any effect on Activision owning the gaming rights to Spiderman, but I guess it's possible.  If it was true, seems like Sony should have made Spiderman an exclusive a long time ago.

Doesn't seem like the reason. That would be really shady of them if it were. I'm interested in the confirmed reason though, given how close the release is.

But it's still coming to the 360 so I'm thinking it may be more because the devs can't get a handle on the xb1 programming. If they can't make it look better than the 360 version, that would be pretty embarrassing.

This is what I'm thinking.

I'm guessing it's just not up to par on Xbox One, and Activision needs more time. We all know that MS loves release parity and hates to release games on their console after they've come out on other consoles. MS probably said "you can't delay the Xbox One version unless you delay all the other versions" and Activision said "well we can't delay all the versions because the game has to release the same week the movie releases". So both parties are at an impasse, and MS doesn't want to back down because 1) they don't want to break their release date parity policies, 2) it's almost assuredly not going to be all that great of a game anyway, and 3) because they're going to miss the movie launch week release date on X1 anyway.

That's 100% speculation though, I have nothing to back that up.

Can someone please tell me how much the Toy Soldiers dlc adds and how good it is, I can't find too much about it.

Hey guys, I just read that Microsoft is trying to hold up the release of Amazing Spiderman 2 because they won't delay the XB1 version. Tell your friends!

While that makes sense, I honestly don't believe that they understood they're having issues with the X1 version 12 days before the release. The game should probably be gold already, too. In either case, something's shady: if they were having serious issues with X1, the kind of things that could not have been covered by a day 1 patch, why are we hearing this now? If they're having such fundamental flaws with the game, this is something that's been on the table for months, so why decide or announce the delay/cancellation now, and why don't make it clear? Or, if alternatively it's Sony's call, the same question arises: 12 days before release? Really? People pre-ordered the game. No one will rush out to buy a PS4 to get this game. If they wanted a half-exclusive (it does come out on X360, which to me is enough to make me think it could have came out on X1 as well, considering I don't really see other games having issues coming out on both), they should have made this decision long ago: better for them, for the developers (who now spent time on a port that may not even get released, or at least went crunch mode on a game that's coming out no one knows when), for the fans (pre-orders and such). An idiotic situtation in either case.

Looks like just the X1 version is "delayed indefinitely"

Hopefully this translates into: Spider Man will be the first Games with Gold title on the X1. One can dream.

there is a update to the gamespot story from earlier:

It looks like this isn't set in stone yet, and Activision is working to rectify the situation for Xbox One owners. An Activision representative passed along the following quotes regarding this story:

“We are working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One. Currently, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC on April 29, 2014 as previously announced.”

Soooo this still tells us nothing but it does sound like it wasn't a developing problem

Re: Borderlands 2 DLC

I really liked Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty. It was concise and fun even if everything about the last raid boss was super lazy.

Mr. Torgue's was fine. Fun but ultimately useless and the only thing I can remember from it is the annoying race.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is probably what burned me out on that game. Some nearly impossible (or at best, very annoying) enemies that aren't even bosses. The bosses in comparison are very easy. Possibly the best example of useless fetch quests.

I was already annoyed with this game when I started playing the Tiny Tina DLC so I might not be a fair judge but I thought it was stupid. Still, it's probably the DLC with the most content and it's the only one that ties in with the main story at all.

Already the first DLC felt lazy to me, albeit it wasn't bad. I waited with replaying it and going for the cheap boss because I was waiting for the level cap DLC. When they announced it will cost money I just lost interest. I'll get to the DLCs eventually, but the only DLC I am curious about is the Tiny Tina one at this point.

I popped Gear 3 back in for the first time in ages because my friends finally got the maps and noticed that my level was dropped once again!

I'm all the way down to a 29 now after being level 70+

This is the 3rd time it has happened now. I will never get the level 100 achievement ugh. Gears 2 did the same thing every time I got close to level 50!

No clue why this keeps happening.

Now that's dedication. I would have probably left the game the second time if not the first time that happened.

Yeah I overally enjoyed Captain Scarlett.

My buddy and I were cracking up when playing through Torque's DLC. EXPLOOSSIONNNSSS

Sir Hammerlock's DLC is all about RAID bosses and what not and my buddy and I partaking in that, meh it's not really worth it.

Tiny Tina's DLC is ace though, it's fresh and the new fantasy environment and enemies felt like a very meaty addition to Borderlands 2. You'll also be able to get a gun that shoots out swords, amongst many other goodies in that one. Each DLC is more enjoyable with friends too.

Yeah so quick recap of preferred BL2 DLC.

1)Tiny Tina

2)Mr. Torque

3)Captain Scarlet

4)Sir Hammerlock

Can someone please tell me how much the Toy Soldiers dlc adds and how good it is, I can't find too much about it.
Each DLC comes with 3 new maps and an end boss. The content isn't too different from the base game other than Invasion has UFOs. Play time is about an hour each and the achievements are easy but one of the collectable achievements is glitched and I had to delete my save file to fix it.

I don't plan to play online in Assassin's Creed IV. Is there any other dlc besides Freedom Cry that is worth purchasing for single player?
The SP also gives you three costumes and more ship parts (wheels, sails, figureheads) for use in Single Player. If that doesn't appeal to you, just get Freedom Cry.

2) it's almost assuredly not going to be all that great of a game anyway
I actually really liked Amazing Spiderman, why is AS2 expected to be not all that great?

No particular reason, you may really like AS2 as well. I'm sure the game will be standard movie tie-in fare. Competent but nothing amazing. I more meant that it wasn't going to be a standout must-have game.

Odd that you didn't get fully reset back to level 1. Did you use different save locations? Did you play a match before you noticed your level? Did you play online?

If you didn't play any matches and were offline, try deleting your Gears 3 save data and load the game while online to download your stats from the online servers. If you've already played a match while online, those stats were overwritten.

Below is a thread from the (now archived) Gears 3 section on Epic's forums for making save backups for Gears 3.

https://forums.epicgames.com/threads/839290-RESET-amp-BACKUP-INFO-The-Backup-Thread-Main-Post-Final-Update

I use a cloud backup (mentioned in the above thread). Start up the game, choose cloud storage, play a match, exit to menu (which saves to the cloud), back to splash screen (just to be cautious), exit to dashboard. I update mine every now and again, or if I hit a milestone (like an Onyx medal). Had my HDD save get corrupted and reset once, but was able to restore from the cloud backup with the directions in the thread.

I don't know if Gears 2 could be backed up the same way as 3, but Judgment could, and there were save corruption issues with that as well. Pity Epic couldn't fix the save issues, and it was a pain seeing apologists on their forums who didn't have much programming knowledge say "nothing can be done about corruption."

Also, you'll probably get both re-up achievements well before getting the base game's L100 achievement, because Seriously 3.0 also requires getting all the Onyx medals.

Ah, AS2 was much better than "standard movie tie-in fare" though, it was quite a pleasant experience. I'm familiar with the notion of terrible movie tie-in games, I bought Lost World at BBY for the Playstation when it was released, back when you'd get game reviews from magazines ;)

Pimps are working with Microsoft in an effort to release hookers on Xbox One. Currently, gurlz are available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PC and your next corner on April 29, 2014 as previously announced.

Whoever mentioned the lack of checkpoints being a pain in Grand Theft Auto 3 was not kidding. I finally got through the sniper level I was stuck on for years and got to the Yakuza level. They want me to take the bridge and go back to Mafia territory and kill Salvatore.

Here's the problem: Finding the bridge takes a miracle. The orange and gray map has no distinction (unlike Vice City, which is still more fun so far) so it's basically trial and error to get back (I found an underground path once to the city; no idea where that came from). Then I get a "mission failed" prompt for various reasons which means I have to go allllllllll the way back to Yakuza Land just to restart the mission. Good thing they have a "load game" option to avoid that.

So what kinds of things do you guys do in GTA games to make it fun? I honestly have more fun listening to Flashback FM.

I'm finishing these up(currently running through Hammerlock's), so might as well note my bias opinions for anyone trying to decide which ones to buy.

The worst of the bunch is definitely Torgue's. Bad map design is an issue I have with Borderlands 2 at large, but this is just shit. Bland, overly expansive areas that felt like a chore to traverse. That blandness extends to the enemies- all reskins, nothing unique. You may be able to overlook all of that if you're a fan of Mr Torgue. Admittedly he had some lines that put a dumb grin on my face. But if this game's writing doesn't do anything for you on the whole(ie, you're here for the gameplay, not the funny words), paassss.

Pirate DLC was alright. Nothing outstanding, nor did I find it particularly offensive. Meh.

So far I'm enjoying Hammerlock's Hunt more than I expected. There are a bunch of new enemies that can actually provide some refreshing challenge. This alone among all the DLC assumes you're at a slightly higher level than you would be if you just beat the main game, so if you're going to play all the addons, save this one for last. Conversely to Torgue, the expansiveness of the maps serve the area, and it's more aesthetically interesting.

Tiny Tina's is the best, without a doubt. Way more fun than the main game. Plenty of variety in locales and enemy types, and this is the only addon that seems to give worthwhile loot- not the least of which being self replenishing grenades(!). Also this is the only one that understands you don't need to force vehicles. Hammerlock and Scarlett each add a new vehicle, and they're fine, but not necessary.

TL;DR: Tina's Assault is obviously the one I'd recommend going out of your way for if you're considering any of the major DLC. Torgue's Campaign is the only one I'd outright say is not worth it.

That's probably the best mission in the entire game but yeah, if you think that's bad, wait until you get to Espresso To Go. You have to drive around destroying small shops scattered throughout the entire map with a fairly restrictive time limit. That pain you feel when your 3 seconds too late to smash the last shop and have to start all over again will haunt you for years.

fuck that mission to hell and back.

This past reset was the only one that took away all my medals...I think I'm done playing it. I just can't get back into it now. I had a couple Onyx medals already (Spotting people, Retro Lancer Kills, active reloads etc.) but now they are all at 0. I still have all my characters and everything unlocked though. It sucks because I have been a huge supporter of the Gears franchise, buying the 3 Epic games on day 1. I could deal with the glitchy Gears 1 weapon achievements, but not this.

I've been looking at my backlog lately thinking, "when the hell did I decide I needed this many games? And how am I ever going to get through these?" Then decided to get a gaems vanguard. Anyone here have experience with this? I thought it would be cool to sit in bed and game. Or during holidays have the cousins and other kids bust out some multiplayer achievements with me.

For me on PS3 I only had to have a save file. I had randomly played the original for about 5 minutes and then when we got Dark Arisen on PS+ I booted it up and was gifted with all the bonus items, including the item that gives you unlimited fast travel, I think.
Thanks guys. Will be visiting Gamestop for Dragons' Dogma before starting Dark Arisen......someday.

Looks like two more drops: $59.99 => $29.99 Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 14 [xbox.com]

$0.99 => $0.49 Gunzerker Greasy Grunt Pack [xbox.com]

Does anyone know the last time Assassins Creed lll DLC went on sale? I've been waiting on a sale but it doesn't look like it'll be happening anytime soon. Especially since they have some AC stuff on sale this week yet didn't do anything for #3.
