This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

The Microsoft / Amazing Spider-Man 2 fiasco ought to help push 3rd party publishers to Sony. I'd be down with XB1 getting trampled to bring Microsoft down to earth for XB2.

Since Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a Sony film IP, Sony as a whole should be enjoying this.

Umm. Maybe if the game was one that was guaranteed to be great, then this would be a big deal but it's not. Games based on movies usually suck. And Activision has already said they are working with MS to remedy the situation.

Hey guys, anyone else is having problems with the avatar items from Pinball FX2? I can't even see them. I read on the internet that that problem was solved long time ago, and you had to only update the clothes, but it doesn't work for me.

Any of you had that problem and already know how to fix it?
No help here but some sympathy: I was playing FX2 on the spare room 360 when I hit the Wizard score (or whatever the hell it is) and bam! Avatar award of a silly flame shirt, great I thought, wonderful. Sometime after that, I went back to my main console to edit my avatar and got the 'we need to update your avatar collection' ...and now that's what I have to endure every time I try to view either the avatar sale items or just edit my avatar, I get to watch that little update animation. Meanwhile, under my awards, it shows the flame shirt as an error icon.

ONCE I got the update to stick and show the award by deleting every temporary system file, but after I shutdown and booted-up again I was back on the same cycle.

So much dumb.

I've been looking at my backlog lately thinking, "when the hell did I decide I needed this many games? And how am I ever going to get through these?" Then decided to get a gaems vanguard. Anyone here have experience with this? I thought it would be cool to sit in bed and game. Or during holidays have the cousins and other kids bust out some multiplayer achievements with me.
i got one a year or two ago... it was nicely built... but i hated the screen... the screen sucked.... it made me have a headache after like 10 mins of playing... it just looked like the pixels were jagged... idk...

i bought it clearanced out for like 80$ and sold it online for like 180? lol...

Mine has been doing the same thing for the past year now, always needing to update the avatar collection on my main HD. MS can't figure it out either. We cleared the cache and deleted all the corrupted files. I'm at a point of deleting everything and redownloading them but at the same time I hardly change my avatar look so it isn't worth my time.

I probably check out my Avatar stuff like once or twice per year, hence I haven't changed a single thing for at least 3 years now. I always just assumed they keep updating avatar stuff, which means it needs to update the library every time (every 6 months or so that I access it seemed plausible), but it seems this really is an issue. But kinda like you, for the amount of time I spend in the Avatar creation screen, I may as well ignore the trouble.

I grabbed Deadlight as my Gold is about to expire. Hoping to find a good deal before the next round of freebies pop up.

I would be ok with letting it lapse but I'm using my membership for multiplayer (Borderlands) all of a sudden. The free games aren't making the choice any easier.

Most every freebie so far has been something I thought about buying at some point with the exception of Dead Island, which I've dumped like 45 hours into.

Not very encouraging news on the Pinball FX2 Cross Buy situation. It would be nice if MS didn't leave them hanging with this sort of important information.

Yup, the dev that has no problem selling the PS3/PS4/PS Vita versions of their tables for one price are definitely the one's holding up cross-buy on Xbox One.

Other games have cross-buy. I don't see why they can't. Sounds like excuses from dev
Pinball FX2 is a Microsoft game, so it's up to Microsoft as to whether they're allowed to do Cross Buy or not. Considering that the Steam version is also published by MS, it doesn't seem like they got back the rights to the franchise like they have on all of the other platforms where it goes by the Zen Pinball name. I'll have to disagree with your notion that it's Zen Studios' fault.

anyone else think the Arkham games were kinda boring?

I didn't really get sucked into the atmosphere. I think I got Batman'd out from the movies.

Wow that flash PSN sale makes me want to cry for bit yet owning a PS3. As good as this MS sale is we have been put to shame by Sony.

http://m.au.ign.com/articles/2014/04/18/braid-tokyo-jungle-and-more-cost-1-in-ps-store-flash-sale

At least I don't feel as bad for someone like Tyler who was shut out of this MS sale. Best of luck to you holing into your wallet this week PSN users. If I had a console Sony would have $30 from me easy
I Only spent $4, at best I'll spend another $7. AT BEST. Even than all I think about is getting that stupid, dumb, wizard robe my virtual character will never wear in Pinball FX 2.

What's it called in video games where objects are blurry whenever you or the camera are moving?  Motion blur?  Whatever it is, Fable II has an awful lot of it.   :puke:

At best, you'll purchase 11 games. This is why we have backlogs that can never be tamed.
I CAN STOP WHENEVER I WANT TO! Plus I haven't bought the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games that my trigger finger is slightly itching to purchase. Slightly. Oh and Gotham City Imposters.

Slapping metal balls is more productive right now!

Damn I don't want to buy all my tables over again.
As someone who has them all I have to agree but also look at the fact that yes we got to import Pinball FX 1 tables into Pinball FX 2 but that was because they were on the same platform. It's a bit of a different story going to a new platform yet like stated earlier it does seem to be in Microsoft's court on that one.

Yeah I was the total opposite, the Batman games sucked me in (AA/AC, don't have or care for Origins). It was Rocksteady's eye of detail to the comics that really made those games come to life, the fluid combat also didn't hurt. I can't wait for Arkham Knight, esp now that I have a Xbox One. My body is ready!

Hey everyone just got back from a week in Boston for PAX and NYC for fun. I'm not caught up on the thread so ignore my ignorance on any topics covered.

Crazy Spring sale! I'll have to pick up the rest of the Pinball FX2 tables that I'm missing. Also tempted by the Batman AO and Injustice season passes but I'm hoping they'll do more complete versions and puck them up whenever they're cheap.

I may pick up some of that cheap Borderlands 2 skins if any look cool. Gotta buy and play the last Headhunter pack. I don't mind supporting them. They gave me a free code to get the Pre-Sequel free at release at their PAX panel :D

I got Trials Fusion and have been playing it all day. I thought the season pass was expensive at $20 but the description says it'll include 6 DLC packs released over the next year so I'll bite.

I like that they added 3 challenges to every level. It adds even more replay value. Heck I spent the last hour pushing a stupid ball from the beginning of a track to the finish (goal) line. That damn ball kept bouncing everywhere.

Goal Line Technology: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=8FF2E726F0A89860!197&authkey=!AHNIutRh-49kD_Y&ithint=video%2c.mp4

Most of the challenges are tough like that, but some are just plain silly. I like to call this "Just the tip":

Yep, I'm finding out I don't like Batman as much as I thought, and would like too. I bought City when it was on sale a while ago (Microsoft points were still in use) and I have yet to finish it. I'm hoping to just crash through the game, hoping I'll enjoy it. The story's cool and the 3D has to be one of the best I've seen in games.

Usually games let you turn it off. Makes me sick sometimes as well.
It's killing me in Mass Effect 1. I didn't have this problem with either of the other Mass Effects or any other game, but I can't play ME 1 for more than 45-60 minutes without having to take a break.

Yep, and I'm grateful for that, mate. If anyone wants to hop in for Mad Moxxi's DLC, we are two, so still two more free slots. The more, the merrier :D

I played Dead Island 80+ hours, and I loved it. Still waiting to play Riptide, which I bought last time it was on sale.

Also, I've 1000+ millions in FX2, so if anyone needs to increase their wizard score, feel free to FR me at
GT:EloyOn
. Anyways there is some trouble with the awards from that game, and I can't see them even if I update the clothes, so be warned.

I thought the season pass was expensive at $20 but the description says it'll include 6 DLC
I like that they added 3 challenges to every level. It adds even more replay value. Heck I spent the last hour pushing a stupid ball from the beginning of a track to the finish (goal) line. That damn ball kept bouncing everywhere.

That's awesome dude, I too have supported Gearbox since the beginning. I didn't buy Duke Nukem though lol.

I know that track, yeah that was the first challenge I unlocked without knowing what it was, (Full Throttle). The challenges make for some good hard to master gameplay which you can find in Peggle 2 as well, similar 3 optional challenges. Good way to balance casual & hardcore gamer's play.

Mass Effect also has the bad texture pop-in issues of early UE3 games and lots of stuttering and freezing issues during autosaves and loading in some areas. It's a shame that MS pushed that game out the door without a few more months' worth of polish to fix those sorts of issues.

Try the Barcelona team. It's colorful and well, I'm not into soccer, but if I was, F.C.Barcelona would be my choice (It's from my city after all LOL).
I went with Barcelona! Not only is the blue/red color really nice (blue flippers FTW), but the odd garden-gnome-like mascot is pleasing to watch. I couldn't stand the soccerball-head mascot reused for a few other teams.

anyone else think the Arkham games were kinda boring?

I didn't really get sucked into the atmosphere. I think I got Batman'd out from the movies.
I loved the hell out of Asylum; it was kind of a surprise that someone did so well with a licensed game, then there was a lot of the mechanics that felt fresh, and the spin/attitude was interesting as well, it prob didn't hurt that the batman voice of my youth was back in it as well.

Arkham City, on the otherhand, I've burnt out on and I'm pretty sure I'm only 60% in. Too many sidequests that you have to backtrack for, and I'm the kind that tries to DO ALL THE QUESTS!

Speaking of burnt out on...

Borderlands 2 GOTY was only $20 at Amazon today, not sure if this will help anybody out or if it's still on-going by the time this gets read. Are the headhunter packs worth it at all if I'm mostly solo-ing, that's all that's not in the GOTY: hh packs, and that vault hunter pack 2, am I thinking correctly?

I think what made Asylum so good, was that I was expecting it to be complete trash. It turned out to be a very nice game. I'm still sour about how they removed GFWL from Asylum and City without warning (that I was aware of). Would've moved them much farther up my backlog.
