This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

That's definitely one of the fights that you are glad to have unlimited ammo rocket launcher on next several play throughs (I beat that game about 15 times).

I'm guessing school is out for a lot of people now because Project Spark got a ton of new games this week. I think I had 10 clips recorded in the past 2 hours. Probably will upload most of them to YouTube later this weekend

EDIT: Having some recording problems as well. Losing about 15-20 seconds at the end of clips

I can still play al those games online and get the chievos? K, I'm cool then
The only game that will have it's achievements affected is Midnight Club: LA. While you'll still be able to race, the "Rate A Ride" feature will be disabled which affects the "submit a vehicle to Rate My Ride" and "rate 25 rides" achievements.

:(

Is this effective immediately or is there still time to grab these achievements?

At similar prices, too. The only one of the multiplatforms I'd buy is MX vs ATV, I don't remember seeing such prices on any such retail game as of late.
I just bought MX vs ATV Alive used for $5 yesterday and I wish I hadn't. It's sort of soulless and featureless and just plain meh! So don't feel too left out. The one game I feel bad about is The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief - I so want that game on my Xbox like now but only for $5 so MS please make this happen soon.

And thanks Ebbtide now I can't get that sharp way that Sheva says "Okay!" out of my head. God the in-game banter is annoying in RE5.

I don't think I've seen anyone mention the free movie weekends on Xbox Live. They don't require Gold. This weekend's is Knights of Badassdom, a movie about LARPing and happens to star Peter Dinklage, the dwarf from Game of Thrones. I'm excited to watch it - everyone should check it out.

I noticed that tonight. I think I will check it out. The trailer has quite of few lesser known comics that I really like. Plus Summer Glau is in it.

I have an XBL question I know is stupid but I'll ask anyway...

I have an active XBL Gold membership.  Can I add codes from 2,7,and 14 day trials to that membership and it will stack?

Those are trials, not real gold membership. They won't stack to real gold membership. Thinking about getting Child of Light. Good reviews and looks entertaining. Can anybody comment on the length/replay value please?

OT: Hannibal is changing from the books quite a bit now. I may have interpreted the book wrong and will have to re-read a part. I'm afraid they are moving parts up from the books in case they get cancelled. They used an idea from Red Dragon last week. This week a significant part of the books changed. I don't mind the changes because they make the show a new experience for those that read the books, but still scares me that they might be expecting cancellation.

EDIT: Cheese and crackers promo for next week shows something from Red Dragon. Book story is being thrown out the window, but I like it

Fuller has stated he's not concerned with it being cancelled and totally confident that there will be a season three. Better yet as he has said about the second season finale "We end season two in such a strange way - boy, I would be pissed [if that were the end]! We don't quite land the plane, we leave the plane in the air."

Super TIME Force on May 14th for 360 and 1.  Hoping and praying to every deity that this is just a "timed" exclusive.  Looks so awesome!

Also, constant in-game banter spoilers:

Sheva: "Chris!"

Chris: "You grab it!"

Sheva: "Okay!"

Chris: "Take it!"

Sheva: "Okay!"

Chris: "I NEED - HELP!"

Sheva: "Be careful."

Chris: "Much appreciated."

Chris: "Sheva!"

Sheva: "Okay!"
"Thanks, Partner!"

He also goes on about "War and fear and pestilence!" Or something like that.

They don't explain what to do in that last part so you're bound to die a lot, especially in solo play.

I wish all games had that. My friend would get so mad at me.

I haven't read the books yet, but I am a big fan of the movies, especially "Hannibal". Tonight's episode was very strange for me. I feel like two separate things were merging together. The last few weeks I've felt like the rug was being pulled out from under the show I thought I knew. It's exciting and scary at the same time.

And Hannibal in general has been kinda diverging from the books this whole season considering
Beverly is mentioned in Red Dragon and Chilton is still alive at least in Silence of the Lambs.
. Though for the second to last season Fuller has mentioned he wants to do the Hannibal (the novel) ending and not the movie ending.

Late night extremely tired Hannibal spoilers

Beverly was a minor character in Red Dragon, so killing her off was no big deal. So was gender changes of some of the characters. This week especially changed a lot of stuff. I'm not hating the changes, especially that Will knows Lector much more personally in the show rather than seeing him in court a few times. I bought the books in case the show gets cancelled before they got to Red Dragon so that I'd know what happens, but the show is full of surprises. I'm still reading Hannibal (finished Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs).

I'm really looking forward to who will play Starling. They have some big shoes to fill after Dancy.

If anybody here makes worlds in Project Spark or has world recommendations let me know. I'm trying to make videos of them for YouTube because there is not enough of them. There are so many good ones that deserve attention that are not on YouTube yet.

Went ahead and banged these out tonight. It was pretty annoying because I was getting connection errors about 50% of the time when trying to rate a car. Apparently the servers are in pretty rough shape already. If anyone is going to go for these achievements I'd get on it sooner rather than later.

Augh wow, out of all the games I have for my 360 I don't have that one, Midnight Club: LA, in my current gaming library (recently moved). Should I go to Gamestop just for this game's achievement or have my folks mail it to me lol.

I don't trade or sell my games, but for the first time ever I had to double check if I have that game. I've got 320+ games on X360 and yet, this never happened, I always remember what games I own and what games I don't. I remember considering it last time it was on sale for 5 bucks or so, but it appears I did not buy it. Damn it backlog!

The pride of any backlog is either thinking you own a game you don't or accidentally buying a game twice. I've nailed both.

For my birthday, I decided to grow my physical backlog. Bought the Collector's Edition for Enslaved (been meaning to play it for a while), Rage (same, kept seeing it cheap but never bit, now I did), Doom 3 BFG Edition (it's got 3D which I can use, also Doom 1 and Doom 2 XBLA). Also getting Peggle 2 next week (digital obviously), plus contemplating Child of Light and the new Star Wars tables for Pinball FX2. Also probably going for the Game Of The Century edition of Saints Row 4 when it comes out. Yay physical backlog, lately I've only increased the digital one dramatically, finally I can change that, lol.

Lol same here. I have two copies of Bulletstorm, and the worst part is that I paid more for the second copy because I thought it was a great deal that couldn't get better :/

My friend did that with Yakuza 4 a couple months back lol. He gave me the other copy and now it sits in my backlog.

I'm surprised that Super TIME Force is out on XBLA and XB1 at the same time, unlike the other cross-platform games that Microsoft has published so far, though maybe them not owning Capy helps give the developer more power over that sort of stuff. Cross Buy would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath until I hear MS make some sort of big declaration supporting that feature at some point since they'd hopefully like to give everybody a better reason to buy games on their platforms and more reasons for Xbox 360 owners to upgrade to Xbox One.

After spending 2 hours attempting to play SFxT and SSF4 with friends on PC, I was a little less sad about having to pay $30-$40 a year for XBL

Which is exactly how Microsoft wants you to feel, have bad experiences with their crappy free Games for Windows Live games on PC and good experiences with their non-free Xbox Live Gold. Try something other than GFWL games for a better experience on PC.

Hopefully, GFWL is patched out of these at some point.

GFWL is notorious for having issues, and thankfully is being shut down this year (the only problem is getting games that used it moved over to a new service). Steam, Origin, uPlay, and numerous other services are far more reliable and easy to use, so don't take GFWL to be a good example of a PC matchmaking service.

Usually it's much worse with PC games for us. At least with GFWL we can play a private match. Hopefully SSF4 will have some sort of simple to connect thing like GFWL without doing a bunch of port forwarding horse honkey that won't work even after. I think Skullgirls has a good system in place. I'm pretty sure they aren't patching out GFWL for SFxT though :( They gave up on that game a long time ago.

SSF4 they are though for Ultra. I hope we won't have to buy the new game though.

I'm not sure what you've been playing, but Steam and most other clients have one click invites and matchmaking all built into the games, you don't have to mess with port forwarding and the like. Granted not all games support Steamworks and use arbitrary proprietary services, but generally you aren't going to have much more trouble playing a MP game on PC than on consoles.

Any thoughts and predictions on the next sale? I'm thinking Baseball or Extreme Sports games sale.

Also, psyched about SR3 being free. I've never played it, but its been on my list for a while.
