This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

It only happened to me 2 or 3 times in almost like a hundred hours I spent on that game, and my connection is pretty bad. It's either your connection or some temporary server issues.
Yea the online for this game has its moments where it sucks like slow level loading when you start a match or even not being able to see other players for like the first couple of seconds while your getting riddled with bullets

Im assuming its the servers cause my online connection is perfect

and it can just be that the 360 version has more pop ups then the X1 version

Update on Games with Gold: Someone on GAF mentioned that they're able to purchase the free Xbox Fitness even though they don't own an Xbox One. So i'm assuming you guys without the console can do that when we start getting our free games.
I bought the X1 so I would be able to do this. Hmmm, should I return it but I got it with the Kinect for $400? I guess I'll keep it.

Planned to get Just Cause 2, Battlestation Pacific and Quantum Conundrum but decided to wait until tonight's results of the date night!

Needed to get back to RAGE...Titanfall distracted me for a bit.

Since GWG & some decent sales my backlog has slowly been replaced from physical to digital. I decided to get off my ass & clean out some of the physical discs. In my unemployment and laziness, did I miss when trade in values tanked? Looking at replacing Deus Ex, but I check Amazon & the TIV is twenty cents. I check some others, same, twenty cents. Used to be for $5 ms space bucks I could at least trade the disc in for comparable Amazon credit.

Anyways I must really be out of it. Im looking at both my HD & physical discs and finding Ive got both copies unused or unopen. Hell if I cant sell the discs, why the hell am I wasting the HD space on the same game? And its zombie games too: Dead Island and Dead Rising 2. I guess I need to open the GOTY ed of Dead island and see whats so special about it.

Getting back on the Halo Topic,

Played an hour or so of Halo 3, didnt really get into it. Same with Halo Wars, played the first couple missions; it was ok. Have Reach and Halo 4; havent played. Played through the whole Campaign of ODST; I have no idea why, avatar awards maybe? Dont remember a damn thing. So the question is why do I have so many Halo games? Because its Halo....it just is....That and I got most of them for free anyways.

Needed to get back to RAGE...
Thats in the Backlog too, is that any good? Been looking to start, but so many other FPS in the backlog to play....like obviously some Halo games.

Rage may be the best looking FPS I've ever played. Reminds me of Dead Island (but less disgusting) with all of the side missions. Even the racing ones are fun. I've never finished it, but I did make it to Disc 2.

I'm predicting this week's sales will be on Kinect enabled games. If one of them involves Dance Central DLC, I'm happy.

I don't usually have issues with PvZ lag unless I respawn at the same time as someone else, then I seem to bounce around for a few seconds while trying to move forward. I would say 99% of the time I have no issues on the 360 version, but I haven't played it in the last few days after i 1250'd it.

I really enjoyed RAGE. It's probably one of my favorite FPS games on the 360. My only complaint was the terrible, short ending. It was obviously built as part of a franchise and cuts off suddenly. I'd love a sequel.

Speaking of gorgeous, I watched a trailer for the new Wolfenstein on XB1 yesterday and that got me hyped. I can't imagine how sexy games will be towards the end of this new generation. Isn't that always the case?

^ That's a good deal. You know what we need... A Capcom sale. When's the last time we had one of those? I could use a sale on  the Street Fighter dlc for Asura's Wrath. That would make for a good b-day gift.

Hey guys thought of posting this here.

Rockstar Games Collection:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
  • L.A. Noire
  • Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition
on Amazon for $20 (New)
http://www.amazon.com/Rockstar-Games-Collection-Edition-Xbox-360/dp/B009KG9I44/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1400513428&sr=8-9&keywords=red+dead

Even my cheapass couldn't say "No" to this deal. It's hard copy and I can always resell it, in addition those are some great games.
They have this in the Target B1G1 sale at $30...

Picked up PvZ:GW

Long time lurker, but figured I'd say I bought it based off some comments here, and the game is really fun. I would also recommend it

a gorgeous looking game, mostly fun, with some interesting weapons. however, the last third of the game felt a bit rushed and the ending was nothing short of idiotic, since they clearly planned a sequel. just know that you'll never get a resolution because there won't be a sequel, enjoy the game for what it is, while you play it, don't expect more.

edit: should've quoted

cuz he was the one asking about the game, duh

Didn't we have Capcom sale a while ago, they were delisting MvC 2,3., X-men arcade. Asura's Wrath GoD was around $8. Although I don't remember Street Fighter IV being on sale (maybe I missed it), I do remember the deal on SF 3rd strike for around $3.

If the speculations are true Street Fighter is coming with GwG next month, maybe then they'll include DLCs.

DR2 and Dead Island were previous GwG titles.

I don't count that. I need those specific Ryu and Akuma chapters for Asura's Wrath to go on sale. Yeah their $2, but I rather pay $1 for what ive been told is like 10-20 minutes of gameplay each.

Played Xbox Fitness for the first time. Did better than average, but it was nuts. Everything started simple. Next thing I know she is saying "OK ladies, sit down and put your foot over your head".

Street Fighter being free next month isn't speculation. It is true.

Finish Disc 2; it's much shorter than Disc 1.

The short ending is more a result of the planned DLC that would come to the game. There was going to be more sections and missions added, but since the game underperformed the sales expectations id and Bethesda had (which is odd since it is a best seller on multiple platforms) they canceled the idea of DLC. The Scorchers DLC was built around cut portions from the game, as you actually battle some Scorcher enemies in driving sections of the main game.

If you enjoyed the main game, the $5 you pay for the Scorchers DLC gives you a few hours more of that, and a new weapon that has 3 types of style to it, instead of just 3 types of ammunition like the other weapons, as well as a higher difficulty.

Yeah this game is more about gameplay than story. How are the multiplayer modes?

To think it use to be the arcades had better graphics and sound than home consoles. Didn't realize the new game is for next gen consoles only.

Hah. My favorite weapon was that boomerang disc and throwing it to confuse the A.I..

Come to think of it, I don't recall the differences between main and side missions after a while to even care about the story.

Thanks, that's good to know. Has Rage DLC ever gone on sale?

You know, I got a huge 360 backlog and growing, but I just got started watching The Wire. Life is hard...
As someone who watched it for the first time only a few months ago, say goodbye to your free time for a while, haha.

It's really best marathoned over a week or two so you remember enough from episode to episode. It's incredibly fucking good, just depressing as all hell (but accurate, I was in Baltimore for a while myself).

The guy's next series was Treme, which I still haven't watched. I hear there's definite drop in quality so I haven't been in a rush to watch it.

Hey guys thought of posting this here.

Rockstar Games Collection:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
  • L.A. Noire
  • Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition

on Amazon for $20 (New)

http://www.amazon.com/Rockstar-Games-Collection-Edition-Xbox-360/dp/B009KG9I44/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1400513428&sr=8-9&keywords=red+dead

Even my cheapass couldn't say "No" to this deal. It's hard copy and I can always resell it, in addition those are some great games.
Probably on sale because of the Gamespy shutdown affecting some of it. Make sure to get those Midnight Club: LA achievements people!

I don't count that. I need those specific Ryu and Akuma chapters for Asura's Wrath to go on sale. Yeah their $2, but I rather pay $1 for what ive been told is like 10-20 minutes of gameplay each.
They've never been on sale, but yeah, I'm waiting on a sale for them too.

As for sale predictions, another Rockstar week wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't mind another japanese publisher week (Capcom, Sega, Aksys, Namco or Konami) though. Basically, I'll take anything that isn't 2K, Rockstar, Bethesda, Square-Enix, LucasArts, WB Interactive, Deep Silver, Ubisoft or Activision. Even EA or Atari would be okay.

The Scorchers is already $5, so I wouldn't expect them to ever lower it. But it is really good, and especially for that price. If you enjoy the main game, the added levels and ability to have a higher difficulty is great. Similar to Nightmare, Ultra Nightmare isn't impossible, it just requires you to play more cautiously and save a lot.

The Wasteland Sewer DLC is also really cheap for what it adds; more to explore. Many people probably have the Wasteland Sewer DLC though, as it came with the Anarchy Edition of the game (the first run copies). While not essential, Wasteland Sewers, along with the Scorchers, shows what DLC expansions could have been like for the game if they had made more.

^ That's a good deal. You know what we need... A Capcom sale. When's the last time we had one of those? I could use a sale on the Street Fighter dlc for Asura's Wrath. That would make for a good b-day gift.
This. Although my dream capcom sale would be Darkstalkers Resurrection and MvC Origins at $5, i would defintely bite at 7.50. However is Crapcom, don't see that happening anytime soon. And yes, i would be cool with Asura's DLC and DmC DLC.

Picked up PvZ:GW

Long time lurker, but figured I'd say I bought it based off some comments here, and the game is really fun. I would also recommend it
Once you've come to this thread, this guys won't let you go back to the shadows.

Some of the guys here mentioned that "Undead Nightmare Collection is the best dlc ever made on the face of the earth"  CAG must really like zombie fliks.

Anyhow I was wondering about it since I'm getting Red Dead Redemption.  Gameplay looks like you'll be shooting bunch of zombies western style.  Would appreciate insights.  Still have few hours to ponder the purchase before the deal ends.

Straight from Harmonix in regards to Rock Band tracks - " "Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine - Pt 1" by James Brown, and the associated Get The Funk Out Pack 01 will come down from the store by 5/30. Keep in mind that we don't control when first party updates their store, so they may pull before that time depending on when they usually update content."

EDIT: So just that one song and the PACK will be delisted May 30th. The other two songs in that pack will become singles. If you want that song, make sure you get it the 30th people, as they can be taken down before then!!!

I'll volunteer and be one of the only dissenters on that DLC. I absolutely loved the main game. The DLC is well executed but I just couldn't get into it. I never finished it and don't really feel compelled to go back to it. My sense is that if you are into the zombie thing you'll love it. I'm not into Zombies so I didn't find it interesting. The only zombie game I've ever liked is Telltale's The Walking Dead.

I got lucky and my friend gave me his copy and hadn't redeemed the DLC code so I did play the Wasteland Sewers missions. I don't remember if I bought The Scorchers DLC. But I definitely plan on playing through the game again and completing it on Ultra Nightmare. I think the difficulty achievements stack so I can knock that and Nightmare out in one go.

DR2 and Dead Island were previous GwG titles.
I know, its just sad I finally went through my physical discs and realized they had been sitting there unopened. All the while theyve been wasting space on my HD unplayed. Plus I may have forgotten to make a joke about zombies and dead backlogs coming back to haunt me. Or Im just a cag who really likes zombie fliks.....

CAG must really like zombie fliks.

The biggest drawback of Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightnmare DLC was that after a while it got a but repeatitive. Ride up to graveyard, set it ablaze so you can start the zombie waves. The biggest plus though is def the zombie horses, 4 horses of the apocalypse hahaha found memories of trampling over zombies while riding on a flaming horse!

So do you guys think PVZ GW on xbox one will be cheaper anytime soon? I ask because I have it from gamefly and it is great as long as you don't get kicked or silly in game glitches. I was considering it at 30 before, I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

1,000,000% chance it gets cheaper pretty soon.*

*I'm just guessing.

I Enjoyed RDR Undead Nightmare mostly because I played it like an asshole. Meaning wait for zombies to pop out from grave and run in circles and begin thinning out the herd by doing so and run up to the lone zombie and get up close and melee/instant kill and repeat.

If you plan on playing through the Scorchers on Ultra Nightmare, save a lot and frequently. It has sections where you're going to be weak, since you can start those missions early in the game. You'll have few weapons and basic items, but not many of them. Some parts of the Scorchers DLC can be harder than the rest of the game. The Scorcher missions are exclusively on Disc 1 of the game, so you might want to finish them before jumping to Disc 2 to save on swapping around.

Also, if you're playing through the game again, look up the secret rooms (Doom Room, Quake Room, Wolfenstein Room). You'll want to unlock them for the item each give, since they're worth a decent amount of money to sell to shops. Plus they get added to your Trophy Room. The Wolfenstein Room is the only one of the three that you cannot go back to if you miss it.
