  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Crazy talk. Why would anyone want to remake or play one of the highest rated games ever that almost 20 years later is still beloved by almost everyone that played it.

Bottom of the barrel in my book. It's like they decided to sap all the fun out of GTA IV. Also the car controls are pretty bad. It's the only GTA since III that I didn't bother finishing.

The target audience for this game is most likely people who have not played the original. The original was released 16 years ago, so a good portion of gamers today will have no idea what to expect playing a remake of this or any other game from that period. Grim Fandango was an awesome game back in the day. So when they look up reviews for the game they will likely read glowing comments from a reviewer who will go on and on talking about how this remake takes him back to the "good ol days".

Grim Fandango is unique, stylish, funny, has great characters and a good script. So remaking it makes a lot of sense since you don't have to invest a whole lot of resources in those areas. It will be a money maker for the publisher.

Just because it is not your favorite game from that era doesn't mean no one will buy it. It certainly is one of the most highly acclaimed (Metacritic score 94). So it makes perfect sense to pick it to be remade.

Might grab Peggle 2, not because I want it, but because it's $6, I have $1.24 on my Microsoft account, and I have enough Bing Rewards for another $5 in credit, making it free.

 
I think IV was a big step forward from the III trilogy in a lot of ways but I don't know that I would want to go back to it at this point (like VC was my favorite at the time but wouldn't go back to it at this point). The mechanics were improved over the trilogy but still had issues, the driving grew on me (unlike V) but I can understand why people don't like it, and it doesn't look all that great at this point. I thought the direction they were taking the story was interesting but in the second half it just lost it and Niko went from compelling protagonist to generic psycho.

If you haven't played IV there's a lot of value there for $5 but if you don't like other GTA games that much I don't know if you will be swayed.

There's no discussion to be had because you refuse to acknowledge that a lot of people love Grim Fandango and there are more that would like to check it out in a legit manner, so until you can learn to accept others' opinions as valid, we'll have to agree to disagree.
 
Wow. I can honestly say that every other platform(including the Wii U) has better sales this week than Microsoft. fuck the regular ol' Deal of the Week. I think the only thing I've gotten this year outside of publisher sales was ITSP.

And putting in my 2 cents, I'd love to see Grim Fandango remade. Didn't play the original as I was a teen back in 98 and I've never played games on the PC until this year(stupid Steam sales).

I didn't even know Wii U had sales. I might have to start putting some money over there.

EDIT: You got my hopes up :( They are only "up to 30% off". I would've bought at least 4 if they were 50% off or better.

I finally finished watching the Xbox press conference yesterday. There's some good stuff down the pipeline but most of the big news was leaked beforehand so I wasn't as excited as I normally would be.

2015 is going to be expensive lol. Even just getting Destiny, Halo and Dragon Age 3 is enough. Though Evolve and Sunset Overdrive look cool. Even Assassin's Creed Unity is tempting with that co-op.

Out of both MS and Sony conferences I'm most excited about the indie games. That's where the innovation is coming from and most unique experiences.

I would of said yeah prior to this week but after the announcement of it coming to the current gen of consoles, I would wait for the more polished version of ps4 or Xbox one or pc if thats your thing. Another recommendation if you need to play the game right now is to rent it and pick up from where you leave of since the newer iteration will allow transfer of saved game from both story and online.

Agreed. Not to mention that unless you're going to buy it and immediately play through it that the game is probably going to be $15-20 come black Friday.

Nintnedo has slooooowly started discounting stuff as they always seem to be late to the party when it comes to the online space. Think of the eshop's current state as the deal of the week back in 2009. 30% off was acceptable for games priced at $5 or $10. I think Castle Crashers was one of the first games to go for $15 like, five years ago.

Actually, I think it's actually unfair to compare the Wii U's eshop which is not even 2 years old to the 360's marketplace which has been around for 8+ years and has MUCH more content. Throw in some devs who want to move their six year old game and there is your 90% off game.

 
For anyone worried about having problems with Forza Horizon, I have played around 2 hours of it so far and I haven't had any "disc unreadable" issues (knock on wood). It seems that a patch was released to fix it. 

 
my 2 cents on GTA 4 it was pretty good subjectively, the euphoria engine and the amount of detail Rockstar put into the city's A.I., voice work, animations and soundtrack def makes it a pick up at that price. I said it in the past and I'll say it again the DLC is better than the core game. You should buy those day one
The Lost and the Damed give you fun biker gang wars while Ballad of Gay Tony give you checkpoints, ups your arsenal and a good story with non 2 dimensional characters.

It doesn't seem to be. Instead of facing a swarm of enemies as a group, the game seems to focus on the "4v1" concept, where you fight a large enemy as a group. I'm not sure if that's just for their "be the monster" campaign, though.

 
So, for those of us with a very short attention span (ie. ME) did anything come out of E3 to be excited about as far as the 360 goes?

 
OT question

Anyone with a xbone know if you are able to stream videos from your home network yet? This is the #1 thing holding me back from upgrading. I use this feature as much as gaming.

You can. I'm not sure about doing it directly (bob101910's link seems like it would be fine PC-side), but there is also a tablet workaround I set up a few months ago.

iOS-side there's an App called "Skifta" - it links to your home network, allows you to peruse your videos, and then stream them on your XB1. Whether there is an Android version or not, dunno. (I generally use a Synology NAS->Mede8er for home streaming, so haven't played with it too much.)

Not near my console and just curious. How much is spartan assault for 360? Also, does anyone have a Xbox 360 OG Dish Drive? My friends died and we are trying to find him one for a good price. Thanks!

I never said it was terrible, and I dont give a fuck what your opinion is. Grim Fandango is not at the very top of people's lists to be remade and its not at the top of yours either. If anyone says it is they are lying. And that's not opinion. Not even people who have their lips stuck to tim schafer's ass would say that its their most requested game to be remade of alltime.

So what is the most requested game to be remade of all time? I am curious to know what is the one game everyone in the world except the handful of people here want remade.

Best Buy has it $37.99 used before GCU, and they have buy 2, get 1 free used games. If there are ANY 2 other games you want, that'd get you there. Or, if there is ONE other game you want, get Titanfall on the One as your third game and flip it for $30 (that's what I am doing for my Wii U games).

Meijer is also doing buy 1, get 1 free on ALL games, and has $15 in coupons for discounts on those purchases (if there's a Meijer in your area). That would give you Ryse and another game for $75, before tax (assuming both are sold at Meijer for $60 each).

There are deals to get you Ryse cheaply now, but you have to want another game.

 
My opinion is much more emotionally charged and upset so thus it speaks for everyone and people can only play one game ever! I DEMAND A REMAKE OF BUBSY THE BOBCAT!

Just saying, he said PEOPLE doesn't want Grim Fandango. That doesn't mean NO people, just multiple. I wouldn't go for the most-requested remake because it's probably GTA V, and I hate that whole franchise.

Personally, since we're already getting Halo's Master Chief titles remade, I'd probably rank my remake requests (for The Bone) as:

1. Kingdom Hearts series, so I will know the KH story going into the new one.

2. Assassin's Creed, so I can get Black Flag and Unity without being lost.

3. Halo: Reach, ODST, and Wars, so all are on the same console (and I never got to play ODST or Wars).

Probably others, but if I went from a Sony standpoint:

1. Kingdom Hearts series, because I won't get a PS3, so I'd like those on PS4.

2. Assassin's Creed same story as on Bone.

3. Ratchet & Clank, decent games.

See this is just trying to set up an answer that you can redicule just because I'm right and that's what you want to resort to, making fun of my opinion. Really you'd just have to be stubborn not to realize yourself which games you want remade more, because they're sitting there in your mind and you're trying to hide it.

Atleast the other guy gets it, he's not hiding it.
