This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Thanks for clearing up the passes on Saints Row 3.

Deadfall Adventures, how is it?

Only honest opinions please

Looks interesting and I can play almost anything, but is it worth the 8 bucks
Played the demo. Graphics are nice and the controls are decent. You can set the difficulty on combats and puzzles which is great since I stink at puzzles.

My problem while playing is getting limited ammo so getting into a fight with mummies with 0 bullets is a pain. Fortunately, you have a melee attack with a knife that actually does pretty well. Seems like it's best to use ammo on people and the knife on mummies. Neat little effect too where you have to use the flashlight to attack them. Think Alan Wake. It was also hard to hear the dialogue but the options will probably fix that.

For $8, I'll try it. I just finished Phantom Breakers and I think that costs more; that was just a weak button masher with nice 8 bit graphics and music.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to download Street Fighter and continue getting my ass kicked on Ninja Gaiden. The crazy people at Tecmo want me to battle 3 waves of ninjas with throwing stars that explode on impact, defeat 3 dragons, and beat a monster boss ... all without a save point.

Excuse you?

You clearly must have not been playing it right.

You obviously didn't understand the depth.

Other insults.

Aren't the next months free GWG usually announced by now?

Also..having not played the first two Max Paynes..how lost would I be if I jumped in at #3?

Downloaded and cancelled both, saved for later. Charlie Murder & SF IV aren't really my bag.
Understood, but I'm pleasantly surprised with Charlie Murder.

It's like It's trying to be castle crashers a lot of times, which is a good thing.

SF IV for free must please a lot of SFIV pros. A lot of easy wins the next few weeks. Kinda sad Ultra can't play with Super tho.

You'd actually be a perfect candidate to play Max Payne 3 because you wouldn't be disappointed by how unlike the first two games it is. Seriously, it's a decent enough story, but the character of Max Payne is not nearly the same person.

And if you have played GTA V and like the gun mechanics, they were first introduced in MP3. Makes for some good shootouts, but bullet time is wonky and imperfect.

While the first two games were great, Max Payne 3 is very well done. I don't really care about the soundtracks in most games, but it was one of the best ever in my opinion. The game can be pretty unforgiving on the higher difficulties, but is very rewarding when you do complete it. Another thing I liked a lot was the Multiplayer, gang wars is where the fun is at. I don't like many third person shooters for multiplayer, but the online is very addicting. I wish I still had my 360 so I could play this masterpiece, I think I will pick one up used just play this game again.

To answer the question, yes and no. They show quite a few things that led him to where game takes place in Brazil. The major things that they do show from the past games, fills in any blanks in my opinion. I just saw the price for the game and season pass, damn man. I wish I could wait like some of you do, but I got my moneys worth and more. 4.99 for the game and 3.74 for all the dlc, is a tremendous value. I hope you at least buy the game, you wont be disappointed.

Thanks all. I jumped into Far Cry at 3..I know, not the same..but maybe this will work too for me.

Also..IGN revealed June's free GWG on May 13..I guess I was hoping that was the new precedent. :)

That's because Microsoft revealed them on May 13 along with a bunch of other pre-E3 news about Xbox Live changes, which only happened due to it being E3-related. They normally wait until the last moment to announce the new games.

We're lucky to see anything announced before the last few days. I have bitched before about them not announcing the titles next month till literally there was less then 24 hours till the next month of GWG. I think with E3 coming they just wanted to get all the Gold/Price Cut/GWG news out of the way so they could showcase all their 2014 and part of their 2015 lineup without mentioning anything else.

Max Payne 3 was a lot of fun but pales in comparison to the first two. Since you didn't play the first two then your a perfect candidate for the game and you'll really enjoy it as a stand alone title.

Space Tales and the Mutant Blobs who Attack is now available on XBLA for $8.

It's actually a really awesome game, it used to be a Vita exclusive.
Yeah, I played the demo for a few minutes this morning before work and it seemed like a lot of fun. I'll spend a little more time with the demo tonight but probably end up getting it. One of the puzzles in the demo was frustrating but that may only be because it was 6:30 AM and I hadn't had any coffee yet.

One thing I'd like to mention in warning about Max Payne 3. I liked the game a lot, but it's freaking huge. So if you're space limited you might want to reconsider. I nabbed it last time it was on sale without thinking to see how much space it took up. I can't recall exactly off the top of my head but I think, not counting DLC, it's about 12 gigs of space since the initial download is not the full game.

Strider is a lot more fun than the videos looked. Bought it because of how good STF (somewhat same gameplayish) and obviously the sale.
Strider is great, the backgrounds are really distracting (too busy, unlike the clean ones on the original), but the gameplay is solid. Really solid. You feel like an incredible bad ass once you get most of the power-ups. There are a few bugs here and there (missing map in one area was the worst for me, and a couple crashes) I don't think they fixed, but it doesn't hurt it badly.

Guacamelee is one of the most fun games I've played in a while. The combos seem hard at first, but you can do some really cool things after very little practice. And the graphic style is really amazing, and funny. It isn't terribly long though.

Has anyone been able to connect to a game in Charlie Murder online, I just keep getting booted. Love the game though.
Are you being booted or kicked? I was able to get into a game, but everyone left it since I was a level 1 player. But now that you mention it, maybe the game just booted us all. Hmm....

I'm not a big fan of 2D side-scrollers, but I also really enjoyed Mutant Blobs Attack.  I played it to completion which I rarely due with indie games since few manage to maintain my interest for very long.

Anyone know what's up with Dishwasher Vampire Smile? The 360 dashboard has it listed under the games with gold section in the dash "get more with gold" ad, but it still shows up as the usual $10. Was there supposed to be a sale on it or something?

I think Charlie Murder was made by the same people. Maybe they mixed them up.

EDIT: Somewhat related, the patch to fix the broken achievement is in certification. "Hey Ska Bros and Ladybros! Charlie goes up for free with Gold this Monday the 16th. That’s exciting! We’ve also got a Charlie patch in certification. Will it make in time for Games With Gold? We don’t know! Why has it taken so long? We sort of know: it has really been a combination of things, some of which we had control over. Unlike things like erosion and radioactive decay, patches don’t simply just happen over time, but we’re getting there. We’ve only done one patch other than this one: it was in 2009 (five years ago!) and it was somehow ridiculously easier.
"

So... how much time does it need something to pass certification usually? Between 1 and 2 weeks according to Kotaku.

It's still $25 from Gamefly, if you're looking to get it. With shipping, it's probably darn close to $30 anyway.

It's made by the same people/studio, Ska Studios

Max Payne 1 and 2 might have been good back in the day but they don't come anywhere near Max Payne 3.

3 is one of the best games from last gen, definitely in my top 10.

You will not find better gunplay anywhere

I really want to get Strider and wanted to pick up Peggle 2 also.  I just have a feeling we'll be getting a lot of arcade games free with Games for Gold the next couple months.  There aren't that many games to choose from so there's a good chance those two will be included.

Yeah, but I suspect we'll be getting the bad stuff that launched with the system before something like Strider or Peggle 2. At this rate we're going to get a sale on all the Xbone games though.

My goodness the credits for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon are so long.  I don't think Ubisoft knows how to make a game with less than 1000 people anymore.

Could be worse. They roll the credits for Watch Dogs twice, with the 2nd set rolling FOREVER. I got up, had a sandwich, had a cigarette, took a shit; and they were STILL going when I got back.
