  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I, too, received a message from Live with a code for Season 2 Ep. 1 of TWD. Good thing, since I bought the season pass last night despite not buying the first episode for $.99 months ago.

Have to get Walking Dead Episode 2 pass before my gold expires. May have to get the Serious Sam disk too.

Too bad the xbone games won't be free if gold is activated after expiring.

Should I buy Turtles now or wait for a lower price drop? I'm a huge TMNT fan and I definitely want it, but I think it might go lower during the Thanksgiving/End of the Year sales.

Also, it looks like I popped in to the thread at the right time. Had no idea tha there was a Banjo bundle coming. I passed on them when they were on sale last time which was years ago if memory serves. I think I can handle $15 for both now.

A buddy of mine and I were debating, do you guys think things will get discounted heavily at the end of the 360s life or will it just get left at full prices and abandoned with no future sales?

As I was looking through the games on my hard drive last night, I glanced at Torchlight. I really enjoyed that game and wouldn't mind playing another game in that sort of style. Diablo 3 has always had my interest when it has gone on sale, but it's always been a little bit too high.

Also was thinking that I wouldn't mind seeing Alice: Madness Returns on sale. I regret never getting that.

Could go either way, really. My guess is that things will just get abandoned eventually. I'm making this assumption based on the delisting trend over the life of the 360. Most (but not all) games/DLC that get delisted don't get a sale just prior to being delisted and are usually pulled with little/no warning. I am hoping this will change in the future, but they haven't shown many signs of doing so.

I also received a code. Made getting the season pass for the rest a no-brainer. Whoohoo!

Does anyone know if the GoD version of Fallout: New Vegas works with the dlc from the ultimate edition? There are sometimes issues between disc saves and digital versions so I wanted to be on the safe side, even for $5!

Oh I know that its been on sale, I'd just like to see it at a lower price. Something like $15 or $20 sounds nice. Also I prefer digital to physical these days.
 
Has anyone played the final episode of TWAU? I have to say it's the best episode so far and I'm enjoying/enjoyed it a lot more than TWD 2. I can't believe it's over and I do hope they do another season.

To stay somewhat relevant to the thread, I bought DA 2. Let's hope some more good stuff goes on sale now. 

 
Just got the Walking Dead: Season 2 Episode 1 code for free on my XBox messages as well. So basically paid $7.50 total for all 5 episodes. No complaints here.

Took 'em long enough. I'm still gonna hold out 'till the end of the day for Major to post something on his blog or at least tweet about it, but if not, I'll buy it tonight.

If it goes on sale sometime during the month or the games become GWGs, I might kill someone though. :wall:

This is pretty much how I feel. They've shown time and time again that they'd rather have the game get delisted than put it on any sort of sale.

Is it not a hub for the games, like the Twisted Pixel bundle? That's the only bundle I've purchased yet and it is an app from which you can download the other games.

It probably works like the Twisted Pixel bundle does. You buy the bundle and download the bundle, which is just a launcher app that allows you to download the games free of charge. You have to download them from within the app though, because that's how they get around the individual price points (just like season passes tell you to download in game instead of direct from the market place). The 10MB download is just a launcher, not the games.

 
Is there anywhere that has a list of all the 360 retail games that have had code cards put out with GoD codes? (like Reach, Gears 3, Gears 1, etc)

 
To all of the people that received the message for two episode 1 for free. Did you purchase the season pass before receiving it or just received it randomly?

It is for about an hour, then after you're like "man..how about some variety?" You'll get it, but it'll just be 1000 enemies rushing you instead of 100.

And to answer your question earlier Dishonored is absolutely worth $5.

That along with the Duke Nukem-esque dialogue is part of its charm: Blow ridiculous monsters up, get new weapons, meet new monsters, repeat. The variety is definitely there (moreso in the third game). I used to get killed often by those enemies that shoot the bowling ball cannons.

And that last level in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter feels like 10,000 enemies. So much fun.

I just got the code in my xbox messages and I did not purchase the season pass yet, but I did buy the first season way back when. Nor did I buy the first episode when it was on sale.

As for the season pass, I always tune it out when people talk about it but do you get to keep the content? What is the advantage of buying the season pass versus just buying each episode individually, unless the pass is on sale like today. Never bought a season pass and I won't buy it if I don't get to keep the content, would someone mind clearing it up for me?

 
I want to buy Batman Blackgate, but not for that price. 7.50 it's my sweet spot for that game, so I'll wait a little longer.

I have fresh in my memory that I bought Soul Calibur II HD for 10 bucks, and then, two months later it was on sale for 5.

I own every episode of TWD except s02e01 and I didn't get a message for the free code. I actually haven't played any of it yet. Maybe that will trigger a message?
 
I Bought the season pass for season 2 this week then I got the free code this morning. Then again I also got shit like the free Killer Instinct code or whatever too.

 
Just got the code after buying the season pass for tw2. It took roughly 15-20 minutes! 7.49 for a whole season of twd awesome plus episode 1,for free.

Why wouldn't you get to keep it? You bought it. Season passes just offer a way to purchase multiple DLCs at a discount over buying them individually. For Walking Dead Season 2, buying the pass lets you download episodes 2-5 for $15 (at normal price), while those 4 episodes individually are / will be $5 each, saving $5 with the pass. The savings for passes will vary from game to game.

Thanks just wasn't sure. I was thinking like a season pass at a amusement park or something where you get access to everything for a limited time, if that's the case than I will pick it up, I don't see it going much cheaper and I'd rather play it now.

I haven't purchased TWD Season 2 (yet), but I checked my messages and I had a code. I had purchased TWD Season 1 via XBox Live, doe.

 
I hope that Dead space 1 and/or bioshock goes on sale during this sale, considering I was about to buy them both right before the sale started and now have to wait and see if they go on sale. I think bioshock has a good chance at being one of the daily deals
