This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I haven't been around this thread for the last week or so, but everyone who's been waiting did buy that Banjo bundle right? Both games for $15 is an awesome deal.
Seriously. I've seen people asking for these to go on sale for years. Now for the first time ever you can get both games at a 50% savings and people are like "Nah...". I bought them both at full price when I first got my 360 and never looked back. I prefer the first one because nostalgia. The second one is a little too expansive sometimes. Just funnel me into the next area to collect more junk.

Just finished South Park and it was awesome. The last half an hour especially had me dying of laughter. The sale price of $40 from the sale was too much, but if it hits $30 and you have the credit def. pick it up. Most enjoyable game ive played so far this year.

Tried to fire up Ground Zeroes and realized it does not consider my 4GB drive as a hard drive :wall:

This is got to be my most careless purchase mistake in the past two years :wall:

Yeah, it has been too long since I had been buying digitally on my 360, forgot how the ecosystem works.
Just look at it as you're swapping the regret of having bought it because you played it for a regret that you bought it and never played it where it can live in a happier place in your soul.

It's unfortunate that the description of the game lacks that information. They should have a symbol on the game image or some sort of indicator for that, just like they do on game cases of physical copies.

I'm still hoping for a sale on a 320GB hard drive, so maybe that will come along and you'll get to play it if you buy one.

Does anyone else wish that Microsoft would follow the Ultimate Games Sale week with an Ultimate DLC Sale the following week?

I bought Darksiders 2 on the last sale. Is this game supposed to be this difficult or am I doing something wrong?
You're probably doing something wrong, I didn't have a great deal of difficulty until I had to deal with that... what was it--it's been a little while-- was it some kind of vine/tree boss blocking progress to an un obtainable path...? Then there was some grinding to boost my weapons and I didn't have trouble again (granted, it's trouble of a different kind entirely) until motion sickness set-in with the floating ship you have to jump and climb all around. Then it was regrettably thrown back into the backlog vault.

Agree on all cards. Amazing games, but I also prefer the original because sometimes Tooie was just too expansive for it's own good. Also that Canary Mary race in one of the later levels is pretty much bullshit.

I also bought them both at full price right when I got my 360. It was before I was a CAG, but I had just sold both N64 cartridges on Amazon which more than paid for their digital price.

That's the enemy that keeps killing me. I keep getting one-shotted by his vine attacks.

If I remember correctly, you don't get to travel through the giant one-eyed obstacle until a third of the way through the game.

I think you have to enter the valley (the monster blocking the path is straight ahead) and head left to continue the story.

Always thought bioshock was more story and action driven

Wasnt expecting it to be pretty creepy and even scary

I jumped a few times already

Considering Quake Arena Arcade as it's the only ID game I don't have, but I never played it on PC. Always been a console guy and played some Doom & Wolf on my Uncle's PC back in the day(nothing more awesome than a cool uncle letting a grade schooler play some M rated games). Worth the $2.49? Achievement look kinda grindy

The moment when you first get the shotgun scared the shit out of me when I was younger but the worse is when you get a certain plasmid?perk and something happens immediately after you finish clicking out of it. As a matter of fact Infinite payed homage to that moment towards the end of the game. Gotta love Bioshock.

Glad to see all this love for BioShock, if far later than I hoped most would have experienced it.

As for the Banjo Bundle - I jumped for one reason and one only, that being the lack of previous sales on the individual titles and the limited listing period for the bundle. Many still think the bundle is permanent and not a month long offer.

I bought Darksiders 2 on the last sale. Is this game supposed to be this difficult or am I doing something wrong?
Even on normal difficulty game can get somewhat frustrating. Since Darksider2 has RPG elements you have no choice but to level up Death, it may involve some grinding and repetitiveness. I like the fact that there is a lot of exploration one can do, some levels are grand and vast, so you have "Places to see, ppl to destro..." Also I would recommend to study enemy patterns and improve your evading skills which is huge help especially against bosses.

Yea i was very late to the bioshock party
which is weird cause a few years ago i remember buying bioshock 2 and not 1
idk y
I still have yet to play 2. Not sure why as 1 was in the top 5 games of the playform and Infinite was very good. Just haven't had that itch. In fact about 7 months ago I went back and played one to prep for infinite. Planned on playing 2 after but I never did.

But for right now Portal 2 jumped my backlog. I absolutely loved 1. I've had orange box for forever and always wanted to pull the trigger on 2 but backlog and lack of money when it went on sale prevented me. It was the one game I picked up in the summer of sale as I'm trying to phase down my 360 log and start a current gen one.

Doing pretty good so far have about 12 games in the backlog down from about 40. Sadly 2 of those are 80 hour plus games. Well 13 as I really wanted BBT but refused to add another game to backlog, but then it went free...

Yeah, I bought it the day the bundle came out after official confirmation on the nature of the pricing and availability.

The only reason I could see people holding out is they're hoping the games will become GWGs (Banjo-Tooie and Nuts + Bolts were GWGs in other regions).

True, thanks for the advice. I'm just shocked that this game is so difficult for me.

I'm working on 1 right now. I bought 1 & 2 way back when they were on sale and bought Infinite as well a long time ago. Figured it was a good time to knock out a series. I can see all the love for the game but holy crap, the controls did not age very well.

Wow no one has posted in the thread for nearly 4 hours.  Anyway, I finally beat AC III and in the end I would rank it #2 on my list of current AC games played. Have not played AC IV yet.  I finished Brotherhood, Revelations and AC III in the last 7 months. While Brotherhood is a great game I still love ACII story from the beginning more.

AC III is such a slow start but in the end I really grew to like the story and Conner is a much better Assassin character than I think he gets credit for.  I have put almost 35 hours into the game and I cannot believe how much I did not do.  It is almost too big and it shows with the frequent bugs. Normally I do not find myself victim to bugs but I did end up inside houses or stuck on fences with my horse a few times.  Anyway, for me I would say ACII>ACIII>Brotherhood>AC=Revelations.

i havent played it in years but does anyone think i should get wolfestein 3d
If you have any nostalgia for the era, it's more than probably worth your time/money at this price. You'll definitely need to strap on a little patience along with those nostalgia glasses, but there's definitely a lot of challenge to be had--the fun kind (especially on the hardest level, "I am Death Incarnate") since it contains ALL the original levels including the expansions it could be worth it to you.

AC Revelations is the next AC game in my backlog. Everyone is always down on it, so I keep putting it off. Should I skip it, or soldier on for the story?

That's the only one I haven't really played. I beat all the others. Everytime I try to play it, I get bored real fast. Never had that problem with others.

My phone is acting so fucked right now, and autocorrect is being a bitch. Wtf...

Wow, very surprising opinions tonight. You guys just convinced me to bump it to the front of the line. Thanks.

The only problem I had with it, is that I played 2 and Brotherhood the week before renting Revelations. Too much of the same in a little time for me, so I didn't play much of it.

Ac4 is sooooooo good though.

So I just bought the Whistleblower pack on XBO for Outlast and it appears to have tried to charge the purchase to an empty prepaid visa card I have on my account so I can "buy" free stuff on Xbox.com (instead of taking it out of my $138 MS balance)

Any idea what'll happen?  I don't have a "real" debit card or credit card on my account because I just use account credit for everything.

Does anyone recommend that I buy all 3 Bioshock games right at this moment?
Note sure how much the DLC for 1 and 2 cost when all added up, but the Ultimate Rapture Edition is like $20 now. That'd be the best way to get the first 2 games along with the DLC for each. I'd grab that if you are absolutely certain on buying them.

Did it let you get the dlc? If so, you might want to give them a call when they open and ask them about it just in case. Check the billing site and see what it says.

New update should be rolling out to preview in the next few days. I'm looking forward to this one. Being able to comment on friends' videos and Gamerscore leaderboard for friends are what I'm most looking forward to.

Just started on Bioshock2, so far it's very meh. Not seeing why this series is so loved yet, just looks like an average horror themed shooter (rail gun hand attachment on currently) with force lightning shooting out the other hand.

2 is a bastard game. It was a cash in by 2K, made by another developer. If the first one didn't grab you, it's not the series for you.
