  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

The service could be great if they added all EA games to it and whenever a new game comes out add it. I'd definitely do this for this years madden to play with some friends.

I have to assume that the early access is just a limited demo, and/or access to the full game with a digital preorder and preload. Wouldn't make sense for them to give access to the full game for a week and then let you opt out of buying it, because like you said, everyone would just finish the game that week.

The early access thing seems a little vague to me. Do they mean that participants in this program can buy (for full price, minus 10%) their new titles 5 days before street release? Or is it like you mention a demo-like program where you can access the new titles for free 5 days before they're released, and then they get yanked away until you buy it?

The first seems more logical to me, but the second wouldn't surprise me either.

 
Play First: EA Access members will get to experience trials of new EA games early on Xbox One. Starting 5 days before release, you’ll be able to try the game for at least two hours and then save your progress.  Once you purchase the digital or physical copy, you can use your save game and continue the experience.

i hope its 2hrs the least to play all 5 days but doubt it

That is disappointing but makes sense. It would be awesome if they also gave you the option to have the full game in advance, if you've already paid for it.

Although I'll still probably subscribe to this in time for Mass Effect 4 to play it a week early, even if it is only for 2 hours. :lol:

How do I join EA Access?

EA Access membership is available to Xbox One gamers through Xbox Live. You will soon be able to sign up through the EA Access Hub app after downloading it to your console.

What will the pre-release trials include? Will my progress carry over?

Each game is different, so each game’s trial will be, too. In some titles you’ll be able to play one of the game's modes for a limited time, while other times you can jump right into the full game. And since you’ll always be playing the real game, any progress you make will carry over so you can pick up where you left off on launch day.

hmm...signing up through the EA app. I wonder if EA Access will be a marketplace item and we'll be able to use MS currency on it?

Anybody seeing the EA thing on their Xbox One? I was hoping everybody with preview would get it, but not yet. I want to know if we can use MS credit to buy it.
 
It's a shame that they didn't get this sorted out earlier so it could be out during this dead period and not next month when it starts to get busy again with Madden and others

MS is so stupid, did they really think this one would slide by without an uproar, especially when Zen Studios was actively going to call them out and 100% blame them for the lack of cross buy? Should have just made it cross-buy to begin with since they'd inevitably have to flip-flop anyway.

I blame Zen and MS. Zen hadn't asked MS about cross buy in over half a year. With all the changes at MS in the past year or so, Zen should've asked again before announcing that it wouldn't have cross buy. Even a quick search online shows that a few games already have cross buy and more are planned. MS should have remembered that Zen asked about it late last year and said something to them when the policy changed. The guy that was supposed to do that probably got fired.

I didn't know that Zen hadn't mentioned it to MS in over 6 months. If true, then yeah it's both their faults. I assumed Zen had ran it by them rather recently.

 
Good to get the final confirmation that Pinball FX2's tables will be coming to One as well. I bought nearly all tables, bar a few very recent ones that I intend to buy. Graphics and gameplay may or may not see a dramatic improvement (probably the latter), but worst case scenario it's one more free game (with tons of content, nonetheless) with its own achievements for my future Xbox One. Along with GWG, the f2p games, and something I'll likely pick up bundled, I could seriously have like 15-20 games available when I get the console, hopefully around Christmas. Good times, good times.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but the Saints Row 4 pass dropped to $5 if anybody missed it the first time or if you just bought it on sale at best buy.

Best part about FX coming to one, on the fly ame swapping.

Waiting for a buddy to get on Call of Duty... Swap to FX then when he shows up swap right back. Honestly I could've seen this console go all digital if they could've found a way to 1) get better sales on games 2) find a better workaround for check ins.

I would buy more digital games if the sales were better. I know I wouldn't be able to trade it in later but the one is built with digital in mind.

Depends. If you play a decent amount of BF4 then probably. Its gives you about 8 gold briefcases, a bevy of skins icons etc, and access to expacs early.

As for the expansions. One has been good, one is old maps, one is mediocre and I haven't played Dragons teeth yet (just DLed it today).

They do also give access to more game modes and weapons. The main game modes I liked were air assault and land/sea assault. Basically allows you to just have fun on those vehicles

If you like multiplayer, sure. You get a bunch of Battlepacks with XP boosts and exclusive gear plus all the DLC for $33. I think that's pretty fair. I'd like for all that shit to be free but I realize its not 2002 anymore and this is just how things are.
 
Got an email saying preview dashboard members should get a code to download the EA hub soon. If I can use MS credit, I'll try it for a month. I hope it is full access to the games with achievements and multiplayer.

same here also usa now and syfy now apps on the xbox one

 
The EA thing can't be bought with MS Credit. It requires a credit card because you sign up for a subscription. I'll still get a month later this week when I can put money into the CC I use for Xbox.

 
Wish I had know about the dashboard preview program, have no idea how I missed that one, how did people sign up? Wish I had a friend in the program to get an invite, ah patience.
 
Not entirely deal related (this thought came about after seeing an A50 deal), but what do you guys think is the best gaming headset for the Xbox One currently?

Did your try from Xbox.com or console? My friend couldn't redeem a code for Destiny Beta (when it still needed a code) from console, but was able to do it from PC.
