  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Reminder: Doritos Crash Course 2 will be shut down in october.

I never tried Ascend. Other f2p games were released after it and still hold a good community as World of tanks, Warface, wsop full house pro and the very recent airmech arena. My guess is Ascend never was so appealing in the first place, definitely not for me and my friends.

Regarding Golf Club, don't forget how easy multiplayer is ruined by modded pad gamers. I don't know how the swing works, but i've played nearly every tiger woods game since 95. When online gaming became a thing, modders busted it. I've lost faith in golf games. The lack of levelling up only got it worse.

Do you guys just see news that games like ascend are being shut down, or is there a website that has all of them. Good thing someone mention crash course 2 is getting taken down, so I can 100% it before it does.

That's right. The now standard swing mechanic of a golf game consists in moving down and up the stick, the more steady the more accurate and solid shot. Pushing repeatedly a button gives extra power to the shot. A modded controller prevents any deviation of the down-up movement of the stick and adds 'autofire' to the button. As a result the tee drive is a joke. I've played against people using the same golfer, with the same stats and apparel and their drives took an insane amount of yards of advantage. You could see the on-screen ball that shows the extra power going red instantly and never missed the fairway unless they tried the green-in-one (which they constantly did, never mind a par 4 or 5 or whatever doglegs had the course). Still you could fight back in the approach game but always from far away, like a PW versus a 3-iron. So annoying and unfair.

Go to your card collection (not deck manager) and scroll to the left once to see the premium cards that you cannot unlock without purchasing premium boosters

Thanks, downloading the 6 hour demo now that people were complaining was too short. Who plays a demo for over 6 hours anyways? Looks like you can also pre-purchase and preload the full version.

Undead works perfectly fine without Red Dead. Really recommend getting the base game if you haven't played it though.

EDIT: Actually I think I'm wrong. I know there's a way to play Undead Nightmare without Red Dead but the Undead Nightmare Collection on XBL shows up as an Add On, not as its own game. I wouldn't risk it.

I would have to upgrade this way as I still have an ancient, phat 360. Have been waiting to pull the trigger on a 320 gb one but 500 is so much bigger than the 120 I've been using I'd make the jump.

 
Yeah, third party sellers are already selling the 500 GB. I just bought one a few weeks ago for $50 w/free shipping. Outside of no original xbox emulation, it functions exactly the same as an official hdd at a much lower price.

 
Madden 15 Early Access is labeled in the store as "trial", but I think you have to buy it to actually play. After it installed, the option to "Install trial" is still in the store. When selecting it, the screen shows the trial is 100% then goes back to saying "Install trial".

I didn't think we'd be able to play it early without buying it, but being able to download the trial got my hopes up.

EDIT: I wonder if it isn't actually broke, you have to pre-purchase the game to play, and they are getting flooded with EA Access people that didn't buy it so they said they will look into it. There were already several Twitch channels streaming from X1.

Working for me. It said it didn't finish installing. Restarted console and now I'm playing. Really fun starting scenario. Nice up close camera, better playcalling. Just having played 25 and hating it, this is already a fresh change that has me interested in it.

Update: This Madden is one of the ones where they change a lot of things. Feels weird, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The trial appears to be full access to the game for 6 hours. Multiplayer included.

So against my better judgement and on a total self-loathing impulse buy, I bit on the $15 MW2 "deal".
It's totally fine. Haven't had any issues as far as hacked lobbies go. Plenty of people playing as well.
And just as a disclaimer: I have strictly been playing Mercenary TDM.
 
Just going to stop here for a second to complain. I wanted to get The Golf Club Tuesday, so I attempted to purchase an Xbox Store gift card on Newegg, since they had 10% off. The code didn't show up right away, so I decided to be a decent human being (instead of overreacting and crying to Customer Support) and wait the 48 hours they said it could take--I thought that since it was my first purchase from the site, it might take longer.

Well, I hit the 48-hour quoted maximum and opened a chat with C.S. The lady tells me she'll send a message to the billing department about it. I asked her how long before they'd get back to her, and she says it can be 1-2 business days. So, in an effort to save $2.20, I've already been screwed out of 2 days of playing the game, and now I have to probably wait 1-2 more? Newegg sucks, and their C.S. department sucks, because it shouldn't be hard to ask why I haven't gotten billed for my code yet. I'm close to just canceling the order and paying the extra $2.20 so I can play the game today.

The developers usually mention it on their Twitter feeds if they are any good at interacting with their community.

Update: This Madden is one of the ones where they change a lot of things. Feels weird, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The trial appears to be full access to the game for 6 hours. Multiplayer included.

It's totally fine. Haven't had any issues as far as hacked lobbies go. Plenty of people playing as well.
And just as a disclaimer: I have strictly been playing Mercenary TDM.

The hacked lobbies aren't major hacks like World at War (flying, infinite ammo etc). But are smaller. Things like Untargetable streaks with missiles, guided launchers blowing up as soon as missile deploys (killing you), modded health (you have half health while host has regular health) etc.

Overall though the lobbies are usually about 80-90% legit and even the hacked ones aren't horrible.

Not sure.

Only really bad lobby I got in was a lobby that locked in spawns. Basically you just spawned and died to about 6 snipers. Ended with a nuke after a minute or two.

This isn't too far away from some legit spawns on Afghan where people get gunners and can just sit on a spawn while decimating anyone who spawns.

Madden Boss Fight Spoilers

That level 5 boss 100+ yd field goal during a hurricane was great. I hope later bosses are neat like that one. Lost on lvl 21.
 
So you think they gonna do a big end of summer sale again? i think they did it last year with all tthose random arcade games on sale

 
Ultimate team looks a lot less complicated too. Finished all the drills. Even though it is probably bad to do online, I like using the camera that locks into 1 defensive player. Some drills are the same from last year, some are way better.
