I know Vandal Hearts was on sale at some point. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

EDIT: Found it. It was part of the "E3 Blowout Sale" in June '10: http://m.ign.com/articles/1096260
And I regret not buying it at the time. Didn't think it would be this long before going on sale again.

I wish Castlevania HD stages and people would go on sale again, I bought the game but didn't have the money for the extra stuff at the time and would love to buy all the stages and a new person or two.
Anyone else getting excited about the upcoming Alan Wake? I'm hoping that it sells well.
VERY MUCH! I loved Alan Wake. Game totally surprised me and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I'm still waiting on any Skulls of the Shogun news. I'm pretty excited for it but have no idea when it's getting released.

As far as sales go I hope Guardian Heroes and Joe Danger go on sale soon. Probably have a better chance with Guardian Heroes since Joe Danger is only like a month old.

About a week ago on their facebook page they said the game was being polished up a bit. So I'd guess after the "Block Party" at the earliest.

Speaking of which,

Xbox.com has some release dates up, but nothing that looks official. The Warp and Nexuiz dates are a good indicator that it is likely at least partially wrong.

Warp - 1/24/2012
Nexuiz - 2/7/2012
Gotham City Imposters - 2/8/2012
Rhythm Party - 2/8/2012
Alan Wake's American Nightmare - 2/22/2012
Shoot Many Robots - 3/14/2012
Dungeon Fighter Live: Fall Of Hendon Myre - 3/21/2012
I'd actually buy quite a few of the games at 50% off, but the only ones I really care about are Tecmo Bowl, TS: Cold War, Iron Brigade, MLB Bobblehead Pros, and Trine 2. (Own Half Minute Hero, Adventures of Shuggy, and NBA Jam, all awesome!)

I'd love to see both of these on Major Nelson's list on Tuesday. However, considering we just had a Tower Defense sale, we might have to wait a little longer on these.
This is sad news. I want Iron Brigade too. I remember a long time ago, about a year ago, we had a fighting game sale followed by a sale for Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online sale. I am glad the Live team has decided to give us some variety in sales now, we can have a zombies sale and later an undead sale! ^^

Still plenty of XBLA titles I am waiting on sales for.

I was pretty clear that it was wrong.

Didn't Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online come out around August-ish? I remember it was part of PSN Play which was their summer sale and it was also a selection of new releases. Loved being able to preorder them for added bonuses.

Yeah, it hit XBLA on August 24th.

I was glad they made the DLC stages on sale, but I'd go back & replay the game (especially with friends) if they'd either put the characters on sale or make some nice bundle where you get them all for a discounted price (though considering how old the game is now, I doubt it).

As for that list of XBLA games from 2010 that haven't been on sale yet, been wanting Rocket Knight to go on sale, especially since PSN had it on sale a few times.

Yes, I believe he was refering to the Holiday sales last year where they did a fighting games day (Mortal Kombat DLC and Deadliest Warrior) followed by SFIII the next day.

Ah, well that makes a heck of a lot more sense. That was about a month ago, not a year ago.

I'll be buying Quarrel tomorrow. That's a really fun game on iOS, but missing online there. XBLA version will have it. It's a mix of a word scramble and Risk.

Is a game like this even possible to do local multiplayer? My wife and I love word games, and I can just see the vast majority of people online cheating.

I'll mostly be playing with friends, so I'm not too worried about that, though yes I'd like to play it with randoms too. If somebody is winning all the time I'm probably not going to keep playing with them. LOL.

I don't know if it's going to have local multiplayer or not, but I think it would work OK, because if you are trying to copy off the others you're going to be slower making the same word as them, and you'll lose in a tie (faster time wins in that case). Plus the length of word you can make is limited to the number of troops you have, so you are often going to be trying find different length words. So I think it would work fine local.

Here is hoping I have some people on my list that will buy it. I checked the xbox.com page (probably should have done that first) and only online multiplayer is listed. Still hoping for local, but I'll get it either way.

Yes it was, I think he was trying to use sarcasm that didn't go very well, which tends to happen frequently in text communications.
Where is FEZ?! I thought it was coming out in February.
I don't ever remember hearing a February release date for that. My guess is Fez will fall all the way to Summer of Arcade at this point.
House Party release dates and prices

Warp - Feb 15 - 800 msp
Alan Wake's Americna Nightmare - Feb 22 - 1200 msp
Nexuiz - Feb 29 - 800 msp
I Am Alive - Mar 7 - 1200 msp
Just saw Major Nelson post this. I would say this is looking pretty fair. Nexuiz for 800 might be a great steal for an online MP.

I will say I was hoping for Alan a week earlier and Ubisoft cannot be too happy going against ME3 that week.

Ok, that is fair. I'll buy all of them, unless I Am Alive turns out really shite (you know, hellish development, you can expect everything). :)
I'm impressed that we are essentially getting a buy 3 get-one-free on the House Party. I love seeing 800 point games...
Yes, it's much better offer than Summer of Arcade one.

Is it just me or have XBLA prices been lower this year? I hope we see a trend moving back away from 1200 as standard. I'd get back to buying stuff at launch vs. waiting for the inevitable sale.

So I just looked at Warp...it is rated M for Blood and Gore, Violence and Language. WTF? I was not expecting that from what I saw before.

That can't be right...

Not just you man. That is because of the low sales of the games priced 1200MSP. Perfect example is Shank. Unlike first game, sequel will cost 800MSP.

:)

You can 'splode the bad guys and there is a lot of gore -

That is correct. The developers love blood and are not afraid show it.

At 1:20 you'll see why.

I just tweeted Major Nelson to ask if it was right (M rated Warp), but I don't know why I bother. He never responds. LOL. I do see some blood in the screenshots, so perhaps it's right. But I didn't get the impression it would be like that either.

Ok, just watched the video above. Yeah, M rated. I can appreciate that some would like that and that's fine, but I'd rather it wasn't another gore fest. Oh well.

Thanks for the PAX demo. It looks pretty cool. Was not on my radar but now I might get it. Especially since you are getting 800 back to buy all 4 and I was thinking of picking the other 3 up anyway.

Yeah, nice little game. I read one interview and devs say you can even beat the game using only stealth (of course that is going to be quite challenging). :D

Wow, reasonable pricing. Nice to see!

I've noticed it too, with the exceptions being Cholifter HD (where the developer wrote an essay defending it's 1200 price point) and Scarygirl (a victim of the "Square Enix Tax"). But it's great to see prices starting to dip a little bit again. Something like Warp looks great, but doesn't strike me as a $15 game. Glad they went with $10.
So you do have to buy the week it comes out to get the 800 points? Or can you purchase them all the final week?
You can buy them all the final week, per Major Nelson's blog:

"PLUS To make the most of your blockbuster game bash, all party goers will receive 800 Microsoft Points when you buy all four participating House Party games from February 15 – March 13."

hopefully there will be a few xbla games on sale for this week's deal of the week. majornelson should do another "coming soon to xbox live marketplace" tomorrow as well as he does them every 2 weeks or so. out of the games posted on the list a few pages back here are the ones i would at least consider if they went on sale and some random thoughts about each:
alien breed 3 (have the first two and i just want to complete the trilogy)
tecmo bowl (nostalgia)
zombie apocalypse 2 (played and liked the first one)
sonic cd (nostalgia)
nba jam: ofe (now that they have confirmed they are doing roster updates for sure)
joe danger (hopefully this would fulfill my trials craving until trials 2 comes out)
guardian heroes (heard a lot of good things about this game, never played it though)
backbreaker vengeance (demo was fun)
iron brigade/trenched (demo was fun)
nfl blitz (i know this came out in 2012 but waiting for a sale to purchase)
all zombies must die (read positive reviews, would give it a try)

Major Nelson almost certainly will, and even if he doesn't we'll still know the sales by tomorrow morning thank's to Syplon's site (xbldb.com).

Most of what's on your list I would get at 50% off or better, but there's definitely a lot of new stuff on there you'll be waiting a few months for.

I Am Alive releasing the day after ME3?

Makes me a little nervous that this one isn't being sent to die.

Something has to. Games don't stop releasing just because a big game is coming out.

I probably get I Am Alive but on PSN, probably get it real cheap as a PS Plus member. Most of those games I'm going to skip and see them for half off in the summer in a random sale.
I Am Alive releasing the day after ME3?

I don't think Ubisoft picked the release date. My understanding is that Microsoft chooses for the publisher what day the game is going to appear on XBLA (If that's wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me, but that's my understanding).

what are the chances NFL Blitz is DotW this week or next? with the super bowl 13 days away I would think its a good candidate.

sonic cd. is worth $5. no sale needed.
guardian heroes. i'm still waiting for this to go on sale
