Welp, guess I'm going to have to buy Saint's Row 3.

Anyone who does not think the CheapyD DLC is cool is just a hater. We would ALL kill to be put in a video game...kudos to CheapyD.
Just bought Orcs Must Die, it had me after i beat a level in the demo and suddenly the guy started dancing.

Might buy Dungeon Defenders if my brother likes it, even though the camera angles kinda annoyed me. Does this still have an online community?
I agree. Orcs must die was fun to play, especially being able to play 3 different levels in the demo to actually get the feel for the game. It's what a demo should be so I think i'll get it. Dungeon Defenders is over rated in my opinion, horrible camera angles and the character(s) move really slow. I tried the demo online over xbl and didn't find any fun in it so it'll be a pass.

I'm stoked to hear the Simpsons game is finally coming. I know it won't be as good as I remember it, but still.....it's the Simpsons arcade game. In my house. That = Instabuy.

Also, I think I"m the only person in the world looking forward to Haunt. I love spooky, haunted mansion type stuff, so this is my kind of game. Hopefully it won't suck.

Wish I had friends that gave a shit about cag to share that with, that's pretty amazing

Also Simpsons arcade is amazing. Basically that gives hope to any and every old game you remember coming back to life someday.

If I remember, he won a charity auction for this role. Pretty awesome, can't wait!
If I remember, he won a charity auction for this role. Pretty awesome, can't wait!
Yup. He talks a lot about the details of recording and how his role grew from background work to full homie status on the podcast. It's probably about 5 or 6 episodes back and I think is titled something like Cheapy is your Homie.
Looking forward to beat CheapyD the homie with that dillydoe sword, ha.
While you're doing that, can I throw some "farts in a jar" at him?

In all seriousness, it's really cool that CheapyD will be in the game. I hope Cheapy or someone makes a thread for it in either the videogame deals section or at least the "Free" section. That way more people will know about it.

I'm also looking forward to Simpsons Arcade. I'll buy it immediately if it's 400pts, but if they ask 800pts for it, I'll have to wait for a 50% off sale. '

A new challenger has just entered the XBLA compilation disc arena:
Deadliest Warrior - Ancient Combat ... contains the 2 XBLA games, all DLC, and 6 FULL episodes of the hit TV series!!!

Oh, and Gotham City Imposters releases on Feb. 7th. From the beta experience, I'm a little disappointed that Monolith has gone "tough but silly" in the presentation, rather than "superhero homage", and I'm expecting review scores to stick around the 7's. It just doesn't have the polish that WB probably intended ... but you would've more expected from the Jace Hall years @ Monolith & as head of WB Interactive. :)

deadliest warrior pack seems kind of pointless. most people already have either the first or second game, and the games only cost $10 each at full price... so you're paying another $10 for DLC and episodes of the show. feel it should've released at $20, but I'm sure like most of these xbla retail releases it'll drop in a matter of months.

Defense Grid is winning me over, I think I'm going to pick it up. Orcs Must Die is having the opposite effect: the more I play the demo, the less impressed I am as the novelty wears off.

I wish I could get my money back on the DW purchases and own the disc. Eugh. It's not a bad compilation.

Maybe if it goes cheap. I'm a double dipping loser.

It's nice for ONE DLC pack for SR3 to be free but, still, you have to play SR3 to enjoy it.

Not to sound like an a$$, but I can one up you on having the arcade game on a 360...

Take a look at what we just got for the basement ; )

I spent way too much time playing it the other night...
What is it about the game that makes it look good to you though? You seem to want to buy it just because nobody likes it. Give us some reasons why buying a game with poor production values and so many rough edges is a worthwhile endeavor.
I'd have to play Amy to give reasons why it's good. And I did buy the game, for $10, out of my own little pocket. I finished Chapter 1 and really enjoyed what I played.

Is it perfect? No. The game was a bit too dark so I had to turn the birghtness up which kinda ruins the atmosphere a little.

It def. plays a little like Ico. Hand holding, sending Amy to solve puzzles and the combat is as bland as whats found in Ico,

The plot is interesting what with zombies, explosions, trains crashing and military.

Puzzles were very simple so far. A little detective work and some elevator action.

I honestly need to play more but I enjoyed what little I did play and after reading Jim Sterling's review I'm pissed off. major plot points are explained which should be a no-no for anything past the starting chapter of a game. I encountered none of these "horrendous" control issues, or lag.

Are the scares cheap? I guess, I didn't jump at anything so far. There is a sweet little maze scene near the end of chapter 1. I've played worse on XBLA and I've played retail titles worse than this (Vampire Rain quickly comes to mind for a craptastic horror title).

Will this win awards? No. Will it be the best horror title of 2012? Could be, who knows how Haunt, or the 2 new Silent Hill games will be. I honestly expect the new RE on the 3ds to kick all kinds of horror ass this year but Amy is a cheap diversion. Genre fans should enjoy it and really no one else would buy it anyways.

I find this funny. Before Orcs must die was released most people here were saying it wasn't that good and that it's better to wait until Dungeon Defenders is out and get that instead. The perception at the time was that DD was going to be awesome while OMD was average.
I snicker every time someone posts that they were FINALLY able to pick up OMD now that It's on sale.

For the record I have both games but have not played either. So I'm just going by what I've heard.

Having played about 1/2 of Orcs Must Die and the demo of Dungeon Defenders, I think I would like DD more if it has a feasible single player mode. The leveling and character and weapon progression seem awesome.

Orcs Must Die is a lot of fun too, but I think comparing them is kind of foolish, because DD seems like it was built for multi-only play, where OMD was built for single player only.

But yes, I remember all the stories about OMD and DD when they were both released, because they were released so close together, and they were constantly being compared.

I think the reason for this is three fold. First, those that really wanted DD bought it at launch (like I did) so there are probably a lot less people interested in buying it now for a discount. Second, OMD, being released right before DD (and most people here knew it), was passed on in favor of a sale. Lastly, the discount isn't as good for DD as OMD so there again you will find more buyers.

They are both good games so I wouldn't trash DD necessarily just because it's being overshadowed by OMD right now. If the sale prices were reversed you would see a lot more chatter about DD than OMD I would suspect.

They feel completely different to me. Orcs is all traps and building the ultimate mousetraps to kill orcs in.

DD is a lot more of the traditional tower defense with a truckload of RPG injected. It's loot and upgrades and built for multiplayer.

Bought them both.

Yeah. They are very different games despite appearing so similar at a glance. As much as I fantasize of a hybrid of the two I try to imagine OMD with co-op and it's just everyone yelling at each other that they're not funneling correctly or using the most efficient trap placement. I picture someone's elaborate trap setup being barricaded off in the last wave by a guy who wants to funnel orcs into his.

I ended up with DD instead of OMD when the two came out... though I got DD for free (was fully intending on buying it though)...

Spent hours and hours on it (DD). It's a lot of fun if you enjoy the Diablo-esque leveling and loot elements (all loot is randomized -- even unique boss drops). It is entirely playable solo (for the moment, probably until the major patch and/or DLC later this month), as you can switch between characters before starting a wave, to mix towers. All kills by your towers (in single player only), earn XP for whatever character you're playing.

OMD looked okay, but I was completely put off by the stupid antics of the main character. =X -- I also hate spending 600 points and having some odd number left, that I probably wouldn't use for a long while. Looks like it could be fun, but DD has staying power. The community still plays as well, but it is MUCH better with friends.

As for Defense Grid... if you enjoy TD games, you'll love it. As shown by the trial, there are A LOT of challenges/challenge modes for each map.

You know, I had problems with the dancing and goofy humor of Orcs at first too. But it grew on me. It started reminding me of the humor of the dungeon keeper games. After a few tries of the demo the humor got me. Hes a dopey frat boy and you just gotta let go of the seriousness and laugh at the antics.

The map in the demo is extremely big and has 3 spawn points for enemies. The character moved too slow and it felt like I was spending 5-10 mins between rounds collecting mana and setting up towers, whereas this would take 1-2 minutes with others I would imagine. I was able to handle the waves no problem, thought it was hard to keep an eye on all 3 spawn points. But it was so boring in between waves, I imagine that's what it's like throughout the game for single player.

Defense Grid is probably one of the three best tower defense games ever made, anyone who likes the genre needs it.

I have Orcs and Dungeon Defenders for the PC but may rebuy

The weak animations and slow pace are what turned me off to Dungeon Defenders.

It just made me want to play Monday Night Combat instead.
Add me to the list of those who've been bamboozled.

After reading a similar post elsewhere two days ago, I purposely went on ea.com and changed my new password then yesterday I was hacked.

There's absolutely no way that's a coincidence. To me, it seems like this is inside-work at EA, this just seems way too coincidental that I change my password and then, bam, within 10 hours I'm hacked and lost 10k in points that I had built-up. Luckily, I didn't have any CC attached to my gamertag--and seeing how it is that MS makes it near-impossible to take all of your payment methods off your account (as I found out trying to remove my gf's) I'm glad I never made the mistake of adding any.
Joystiq has an interesting theory about this

wow at the joystiq article. You'd think sony's gigantic disaster would be a wake-up call to ms on this.
it also burns me that the people actually stealing accounts are probably never being caught

Yup, around New Year's Eve I was hacked too. They took about 2100 points and tried to use my credit card but my bank didn't let them (I love my Credit Union). After I reported it around January 2 (the weekend so no customer support) I got my account back and my points back within 8 days. I made sure they suspended my account by trying to see if I can access it.

The moment I noticed that someone used my account, I did a transfer of licence to my console and put a Xbox live access password for all consoles (button command) and changed my live id password. I was fortunate they didn't try to change my password at the same time.

Don't have a paypal access since they can withdraw a huge amount of cash without the bank stopping it.

Microsoft needs to fix that hole that allows people to try as often as they like without a captcha. That said, that would only work to steal someone's account if the user has a very simple password because it requires a brute force attack of just trying passwords over and over. Since they have to go through Microsoft's server to try them out it's not even that fast. They have no idea if someone's password would take 20 minutes or 20 years to crack this way. If they are stealing accounts using this they're probably just checking against common passwords. If that's true your password would have to be something like god, pencil, password, 12345, etc. for them to steal your account.

Using a good password that's long and avoids dictionary words should keep you safe from this type of attack.

I am thinking stoned people are going to be have much more fun with this than either group. Although those on acid might need to warned about trying this game while tripping.

I have kids and I'm pretty sure I can get them drunk so this is right up my alley. Day 1 purchase.......seriously.

really dug the demo to defense grid. my live just expired yesterday though, but I see an offer on my dashboard for $1 for 1 month, so I'll have to jump on it this weekend and hope its there the next time i have a chance to fire my 360 up.

How do you change the exp date or cv? My friend can not get it to work. He is about to call his bank and get a new card now. Thank god i do no not have one on file. I am shocked MS does not get super heat on this cause wow has it really increased so much lately...

If anyone can help me fix my friends cc issue that be great if not sorry for him i guess some $$$ to get a new cc from his bank.

Also Dungeon Denfenders still shows full price since tue for 800 not 400...
DD's full price is 1200, down to 800
Ahhh weird stuff cause it says price 400 on the dashboard. You click in and says 800. I need to get another points card this weekend i might grab it but 800 not sure. To many games so little time. :)

I called Xbox Support yesterday to have my CC info removed, the process took about 10 minutes and couldn't have been easier. I couldn't do it myself through the website since my Gold plan was still tied to the account (even though I had already paid in full), so they basically removed my CC info and issued 3-month LIVE tokens for the time I had left.

Anyway, it's prepaid cards from here on out. And to stay on topic, Orcs Must Die! is great. :)

You sure you didn't see "Save 400 (MSP icon goes here) and misinterpret it as it costing only 400MSP? I thought the same thing at first but looked closer and all the values that were displayed in each tile of the games on sale showed the savings, not the cost. I thought that was sneaky because I'm not used to seeing how much I'd save without the price.

Try to buy points off the dashboard and see if the card still shows up. My friend is stuck with it like that now. I had other friends remove cards in the past and does that as well. What a shame how the gov used to step in on companies that make it super hard to remove info or cancel. It seems the gov is run by companies these days. What a shame. :(

I thought I removed my card through the phone as well, but when I was hacked it was still attached to the account. When people say it is difficult, they mean that the card is still there despite some rep telling you it is removed.
