Hell to the fuck Yes!!!!!!! both metal slugs are half off. Aswell with both KOF games and trouble witch neo. And you sillys said april was gonna have shitty deals.
Trouble witches neo is a fantastic little shmup. Play the game first as the standard chars. Luca is way OP... but she helped me 1 cc the game on normal =) Easily worth 400 msp IMHO.
Seriously though, KOF Skystage is garbage.
Sky Stage is nothing special, but still a fun little shmup. Calling it garbage is just hyperbole.

Woot, I've been waiting for these SNK sales. Ever since I was able to play them free with the Modern Warfare 2 glitch, now its time to buy some and finish them off.

Yeah I liked the demo actually, I'll probably pick it up for 400 points.
Grabbing Hydro Thunder and Trouble Witches. Have to be careful to avoid an abnormal Achievement Score due to the latter.
There are a few achievements in TWN that are impossible for me to get (20th stage boss comes to mind) so definitely figure out which ones you want to earn if having an odd gamerscore bothers you.

20th stage boss one is tough as nails. I'm not good at shmups either, but still have fun playing them.
Still holding out hope for Arkanoid Live to be put on sale lol
I thought i was the only one waiting for that one. Beginning to think it won't be happening.

Probably will get Metal Slug 3 (I already got KoF Sky Stage and Trouble Witches Neo, both of which are fun for their cheap prices). Not sure on Metal Slug XX since I owned the PSP version a while back that had some extra content, like that Mission Mode oh wait, that was XX as well. I was thinkin' of the original version, Metal Slug 7 on the DS. Hopin' Xbox Rewards will deposit the 100 MSP that's pending (though since I reached 100 by doing the April survey, probably won't get it until next month) so then I only have to spend $5 on MSXX

Man now that metal sluggs have gone on sale, maybe soul caliber will 1 day to. Also enjoy this week's sales cause nezt week is same shitty cod mw 2, and waw map pack bullshit for the 5th time already.
Sky Stage is nothing special, but still a fun little shmup. Calling it garbage is just hyperbole.
Speaking as a shmup fan and as a SNK fan, Sky Stage is not a good game. The game feels like a doujin shmup. The enemy ship designs are generic to the point where they look like they came right out of Xevious. There is a super move system implemented in the game that tries to give the game a unique mechanic but is ultimately just a typical charge-and-shoot option for the player. I actually really enjoyed the developer's other work on Raiden IV, but this is a noticeable step down from that.

Edit: I realize the above may make it sound like the worst game ever, but it's not. The game is just rather plain feeling. It's just that it's difficult to recommend this game when there are so many other better shmups available on the 360. Trouble Witches Neo is a far better choice for the same cost.

Definitely in for the Metal Slugs. ALMOST caved last month for the 5%. Glad I didn't. I'd be tempted in the KOF fighters as well if I wasn't so terrible at fighting games.

Also, is xbox.com giving problems for anyone else? I can load the main page fine, but everything I try clicking on a game to download a demo or whatever, it says runtime error.

Same here.

Trouble Witches Neo has bizarre GS values for each achievement: 7, 15, 11, 25, 25, 42, 3, 29, 20, 5, 5, 13.
What the fuck!!!

Daytona is still 400 points, do I want it or not? Any suggestions?
Edit: I figured it's just 400 points so I bought it. but immediately after I purchased it, it says can't download. It does say I purchased it though. Anyone else having marketplace issues?

I bought it in the last second. It's a nice little game. Most of us purchased the game mainly from nostalgia.

edit That was 1hr ago via xbox.com. Still haven't tried to download it on my 360.

Metal Slugs are a win. Insta-buys now that they are finally discounted. Already picked up TWN. Guess that's all we're getting the next two weeks...

Another CoD sale next week. Sigh..

Anyone recommend any of the KoF games? One of the few fighting franchises I never really payed much attention to so I have no idea if any of these are worth picking up.

Sixteen months after its release, and Black Ops map packs STILL won't go down. So fucking stubborn.

Why did Activision charge $15 instead of $10? I definitely would've bought it at that price.
And here's a question, with MW3 out now, and a new COD coming out this November, is it practical to even buy Black Ops map packs at this time?

Interesting, DotW this week is really good and has a ton on 1st time sale content, and DotW next week is rehashed trash that surely everyone who wants it owns by now.

Also, didn't see it mentioned, but Hydro Thunder Hurricane is probably the Family Gold Deal for April.

Hmmm...can't seem to get signed into xbox.com at all. May end up missing Daytona. Not a huge loss, but hopefully I'm able to get it before it jumps back up in price.

Because people will buy it at $15, then their friends will buy it to play with them. It's a case of "because we can".

No, I don't think it's practical to buy map packs for a two year old game, but this is coming from someone who has never bought a MP for COD. (Plenty for Halo 3 though)

I'll probably pick up many of the SNK games since I won't be getting any thing next week. All I have iss trouble with witches so I download the trials of the rest.

Listen to this man. He is spot on with his summary. SkyStage is incredibly mediocre - just about every shmup out on XBLA is a step up.

While it's nice to see something out of the ordinary for sale this week (ie not COD, Bioshock, or "insert 1st person shooter name here") it's really hard to get excited about an SNK sale. Yeah the games are decent, but they're essentially the same prequels I played 10 years ago. Anyone who played any of the 7(?) other Metal Slugs or the 13(?) KOF games will definitely get the been there/done that feeling. There are some other SNK games I would've picked up had they been on sale. Battle Coliseum comes to mind....yes I know it's terrible. Heck even Samurai Shodown 2 would've been better than KOF.
Having said all of that though it's not bad given the alternative (which we'll be getting the following week). :)

I haven't seen it posted yet, but it looks like some GoD price drops happened.

Dragon Age 2 - 2400 -> 1600
WWE All Stars - 4000 -> 3200
[PROTOTYPE] - 2400 -> 1600
The First Templar - 2400 -> 1600

That's a good point. The problem is that SNK is a shell of its former self. KOF XIII is the first game in almost a decade that has been well received by their fans, and they struggled during production to get just that one game out. KOF XII was pretty much just a public beta. Beyond that all SNK really has is their back catalog to lean on. I'd love to see SNK develop new 2D for XBLA and PSN but it doesn't look like they have the resources to do so.

As much as I love the Metal Slug series, I'd rather buy a brand new $60 boxed copy of WindJammers 2 than another re-release.

I see that they're offering the Mt. Fuji DLC for the 360 version of SSX despite the fact that the back of the PS3 box says that content would be exclusive to the system until the end of August. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the bringing an end to exclusive content deals, they're an absolutely terrible idea. This content should have been available to everyone day one. I just wish EA wasn't initially screwing over 360 owners while making guarantees to PS3 owners that they're not going to stick to.

The rapid price drop plus the need to offer an additional insensitive to 360 owners to pick the game up really makes it seem like we won't be seeing a sequel anytime soon.

Wow... nice to see some love for SNK instead of the usual COD and Bioshock 2 sales. Even though I have them on PS2, I'll probably pick up the KOF stuff. Really wish they would have put Mark of the Wolves on sale too though!

I know it's been talked to death but Games on demand is crap and these prices aren't that bad except for all stars. 10 dollars really I could shit 10 dollars. I just wish GoD could be a little more like steam but anyway i take it Toy soliders IS a price drop if that's the case maybe sooner or later it be on sale. $10 isn't bad but I would prefer $5

I would never thought SNK would have a sale. Glad I waited on Metal slug 3/xx :)

I am so thankful I didn't cave in for 5%. This is the sale I have been waiting for which I thought would never happen! As I figured with my odd taste in games, there seems to be more negative sentiment on the sale on this thread than positive. I'm definitely getting anything with the Metal Slug and KOF in the title, been waiting on those to get discounts for so long, yes that includes Sky Stage which despite the consensus of "mediocre" here, I find the game quaint and the oddity makes it interesting to me. I am glad amongst all the repeat sales and highly mainstream title offers, some variation for deals shows up every now and then which appeals to me, and as it appears, only me =(.

It has been a long time, since I've been this excited about DotW. Makes up for a few sales which had not interested me. I got what I wanted, I hope soon, some Deal of the Week will feature what you wanted. I gotta jump on the deals, especially ones I have wanted because with the upcoming Arcade Next promotion, I may not have any sales appealing to me for a while. Best break out my old mossed-over Microsoft Points, they're practically post-apocalyptic ^^.

Sure there are a few more I was looking at like Garou: Mark of the Wolves and NeoGeo Battle Colosseum (or was it Coliseum?), but I'll take what I can get. I already purchased Trouble Witches Neo but I haven't played it yet on 360, not because I am afraid of the oddly numbered gamerscore it issues, but what it may take to get the one that gives 13g
(based on the original game, I think it requires touching a little girl)
; if I have that someone will message me "I know what you did to get THAT achievement!" =P

I am one of the rare persons which have not purchased the World at War DLC yet (nor any DLC from the series). I do not have that Call of Duty title. Yet, I am not convinced to get the games. I am open to it though. However, I have not lost sight of how many already have this content and would prefer the newer stuff go on sale. That is why I have no complaints of this week's Deal of the Week when they offer new or odd items up. The alternative of a repeat poor choice is way worse in my opinion.

I love ya Xbox Live team, glad you show me you love me back once in a while ^^.

That is just hilarious.....and very true. :lol:

Wow, I'd have never guessed an XBLA SNK sale in a million years. Very cool. I only wish some of the older titles (Garou, SS2) were included, I'd snatch 'em all up.

I'm in for Metal Slug XX. Really happy that it is on sale. I'll debate over Metal Slug 3, but I already have the Anthology disc on PS2. I'll have to demo Trouble Witches, I had an interest in it a long time ago, but its faded. Maybe the sale will renew it in it.

Also, glad that I won't have to try to track 10 hours of multiplayer gaming for XBL Rewards. I can spend an easy 800 points here and qualify for 1/3rd of the requirements.

I'm a pretty big Metal Slug fan, but missed out on Metal Slug XX. I know it got some pretty bad reviews, does anyone know why it was critically panned? Is it really a bad game?

2 reasons

1) it's a port from ds with nothing added to it
2) $15 price tag

MS must have an agreement with the publishers to never sell GoD games for below the title's MSRP.

Unlike a retail store, I think digital storefronts like Steam and XBLM work with the publishers. When a drop or sale happens it's because the people who run the store got together with the publishers and decided on it. Microsoft doesn't just mark down games as it sees fit.

yeesh, disheartening. I'm a huge Metal Slug fan so I'll likely pick it up, but I didn't realize it was so poorly received.
