XBLA - Gunstar Heroes - 400pts

Kind of ironic to me. I thought about playing this yesterday on my genesis until I saw how it looked hooked up to my hdtv. I'll end up buying it when its released.

Will be bought, most likely regardless of online multiplayer (but that would be sweet).

It's difficult for me to feel too ripped off after the twenty cent day of infamy a few weeks ago. Man that was sweet.

If it's 800 points I want a graphics tune up, online co-op and new content. Or at least 2 of those three.

Other than the idea of price, I'm stoked. I love this game!

Because I'm the jealous type, I hate you. Why couldn't I have gotten in on that deal? I'd have a half a million points...
 
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

I have it on genesis and played it for forever as a kid. Will buy this on day one.
 
I'm glad so many people like it, but I really don't like this game. I tried to like it back in the Genesis days and again on the Wii virtual console....but....I just don't have fun playing it. To each his own. Enjoy gang.

The Xbox.com game info page seems to confirm online co-op. That's more than worth the $10 to me.

It's a shame Treasure hasn't started to update their old 2D games (They're a small company, so it's understandable...)

I'd LOVE to see 2DHD remakes of this, Silhouette Mirage, and Guardian Heroes (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?), but they haven't even done a single one yet...

But at least this should be cheap! I can't really see any of the Genesis collection costing more than 400 points; especially since lots of them are available on the Sonic's Genesis collection. But I guess we'll see...

by far the best Treasure game and one of my alltime favorite games. I remember spending hours playing mutiplayer w/ my friend and we were throwing eachother in the air in the elevator and laughing at the top of our lungs because how fast u can eliminate bosses. 0 damage on the partner too. definitely going to purchase this game. not in any rush to do so though.
 
I remember renting this when it first came out thinking it would just be a cheap Contra clone. I couldn't put the controller down for days. It was so much fun. I'll be picking this up for sure.

Now we need some Landstalker.

I can confirm it is 800 points and has offline and online co-op....... graphics still suck.

800 points is definitely not too much. I wish people would stop saying that. This is a high quality game with online co-op added in. Look at the few titles we've gotten that were 400 points. Now name one that wasn't absolute shit. They were 400 for a reason.
 
800 is still expensive but I have to get this. Maybe Sega will port some Saturn titles next? Love to see Astal, Guardian Heroes, and the Clockwork Knight series, (besides obvious games like VF and Panzer Dragoon series).
 
Well Matt, the other Genesis games that've been ported to XBLA were 400 points, so it'd definitely be nice if Gunstar was too. But yes, it is worth 800.

yeah but every single other genesis game released has been 400 points. I think its a hard sell to release these new vintage games for $10 when the genesis collection is only $30 and has like 40 games. GH is the only game not already in that collection, which means you could pick up the handful of other new vintage games and spend more than the full-price collection.

I agree with you 100%. Ten dollars for a quality gaming product is never too much.

its on it's splash page on the Xbox site.

edit: of course, it wouldn't be the first time that they screwed up but its part of Sega's Vintage Collection and the others are 400 point across the board

Looks like I might be picking this up then. I love this game, but there was no way I was picking this up if it was at 800 points.
 
Sounds like this will be worth picking up. I never played it on the original Genesis, but online co-op would make this worth checking out on day one.
