XBLA - Ikaruga - 800pts

Good news but I was expecting something else from Treasure for some reason.

This is great news. I'll buy it the day it comes out.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about... Every game has to pass the certification process, whether its a retail release or on XBLA. You'll either blame MS for delaying games forever because of strict quality control, or you'll blame them for all the bugs when games are released too early. There are two real problems here, the developer has to go through certification several times because they're not doing it right the first, second, or third time, and the XBLA group is probably understaffed and can't handle the volume of games. Who knew it would be this popular?

If this does well, we can expect to see more quality shooters to follow. They probably picked Ikaruga to gauge the market since its fairly recent and did fairly well.

same here, and it is not like Radiant Silvergun is a bad game either.
 
this seems like a strange choice for the XBLA, due to its diffuculty, i dont see it selling that well

For 400 pts, for sure buy. But, for 800, its a maybe

The whole idea of XBLA is to have something simple to pick up & play qucikly, waiting for 30-60 mins to redownload something is not my idea of quickly. Also I'd imagine the bigger HDD will come about at somepoint especially if this IPTV/DVR idea ever gets rolling for real.

Well, I think we can use SotN as a guage, both being somewhat recent games (in comparison to some of XBLA's offerings), they'll be a similar price.

For 800 points, I'm probably in. But, I can see this easily going between 1200-1600 points, that's when it's a maybe if you already own the game.

a 50mb game takes about 5 minutes for me. maybe something larger like SOTN would take longer.

That's the thing though-- you can store a ton of games on there. All the games out right now probably don't even add up to 2 gb.
 
I just browsed that review quickly looking for a price, but I didn't see one. Even though I highly doubt it, I hope it's only 400 points. I don't think I'd buy it if it's more than 400 points, though anything over 800 is a definite non-purchase.
 
Finishing the game without a continue is an achievement.

I think there should be another one, it should be called "Survived cancer AND vicious bear attack," and it should be worth the same amount of points.

This is one of the few games that I actually enjoy pulling my hair out in anger. I hope it's pretty soon, I haven't downloaded an XBLA game in a few weeks!

Maybe THIS will be our compensation ;)

God I can't wait for this or Rez. And 800 points is a fantastic price point if you look at how much it goes for on ebay.

...So now, all we need now is M$ releasing that Radiant Sivergun will be coming to XBLA this fall and I will die happily.
 
Already have Rez and Ikaruga...but will def. be getting them again on the 360 (don't feel like dragging out my Dreamcast, lol).

The link still comes up in a search on the site, but the page is missing and the Ikaruga game page does not have any reviews listed. Did anybody see the score or anything particularly noteworthy in the review?

it got a 9.0. sounded like they really liked it. some insane achievements.

Aside from the usual XBLA stuff (achievements and leaderboards), the XBLA version is supposed to have co-op over Live, replay downloads/sharing, and improved graphics with more options.

I dunno how the japanese marketplace works w/ the US one but are we going to see Ikaruga on April 9th or just Japan. I saw the achievements were posted on x360a but does that mean the game will be also released for the US? please say yes! :X
