Speaking of Ubisoft games, I bought Outland when it was on sale last time and it's a GREAT action-platformer. It plays like a combination of Super Meat Boy (the floatiness in the controls), MetroidVania (back tracking / constantly evolving character) and Ikaruga (color-swapping mechanic). If it's on sale for 50% off again, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's easily one of the most solid experiences I've had all year, retail or otherwise.

Holy folly batman. That sight is interesting indeed. Crazy Taxi was on sale like four times in a little over a 30 day period.

Some games on sale once, and many never!

Street Fighter is one of my favorite series of all time and Super Turbo has always been one of my favorite incarnations of the series. Needless to say I was tremendously hyped for HDR, not only was it the first XBLA game I ever purchased, but it's the game that finally convinced me to upgrade to a gold account. At first glance everything seemed awesome, but gradually it began to rub me the wrong way.

Aside from a bunch of fairly oddball character tweaks, the art style looked hideous and the netcode resulted in a lot of borked matches for me. Playing against friends was mostly okay, but rollbacks and desyncs seemed to be the norm in public matches. I gave up on the game when SF4 came out just a few months later so things may be better now. Also, I know you can toggle back to the original sprites, but you can't do the same with backgrounds and that just makes the game look even more vomit inducing. Would have greatly preferred a straight up port of arcade ST over this, but for 600 points it's a still a decent pickup if you have friends to play against.

Ok I think I might pick up street fighter HDR. I suck at fighting games but still like them, especially street fighter. I spent a lot of quarters on sf 2 and champions ed.

Edit: ok maybe not after reading that post above.
Ubisoft sale next week all I want them to put on sale is Prince of Persia - Epilogue DLC. Nothing more, nothing less.
QFT...well, depending on how much it is. I wasn't gold when it was on sale for 560 points, and I don't think I'd pay that much for it anyway.

Might consider it for 400.
Grabbed Double Impact. I'd buy the fighting games, but the 360 D-Pad is woeful, and I'm too cheap to invest in a proper arcade stick.
You can get the WWE All-Stars fightpads (the 2nd gen of the SF Madcatz fightpads) for $20 at Gamestop.

Thanks. :)

I think you may be misreading the output thou:
http://xbldb.com/offers/002-dcc

Crazy Taxi has been on sale 3 times: 2011-03-28, 2011-04-19, 2011-11-22.

The other events are when the price went back up.

The site is missing some non gold sales. I just haven't had time to manually enter them in the database.

HDR is the best port of ST you're going to find. It beats the living shit out of Hyper Fighting if you care at all about balance, and the netcode works.

If the backgrounds being redone into HD kills it for ya, well so be it.

(I vastly prefer playing OG Super Turbo to the rebalance, but that's because I'm just so used to the matchups in ST. It's the only cab I own, but it's a gem to have)
Ughh I feel you on this. I've been looking out for a MM9/10 sale for awhile...
I always feel like the moment I pay full price for it, the next dotw it'll be on sale
Buy it today. You know it won't be on sale for at least 2 weeks. In that amount of time you'll be able to play it and justify the full price purchase.
what games would you say are similar to age of booty?
Catan because of the similarities in resource usage. My advice to you would be to download the demo and give it a whirl.
what games would you say are similar to age of booty?
I don't think there is one on XBLA. Man I loved Age of Booty.
Anyone recommend Prince of Persia Classic? I'm gonna try the demo this week
I found the controls to be rough around the edges, but in time I got used to them. Fighting against badguys was pretty blah as well. For $5, I guess I'd recommend it, but not a ringing endorsement or anything.

I did not much care for PoP Classic. I found it pretty boring.

I do recommend the Final Fight Double Impact. FF is old and rough but still a classic and the other game that came with it is alternately brilliant and stupid, the sort of kitchen sink fantasy madness we see in the DnD beat em ups

You clearly have not yet learned the way of the CAG. ;-)
Anyone recommend Prince of Persia Classic? I'm gonna try the demo this week
It's a good remake of the PC game. That said, the PC game doesn't hold up well. If you didn't play it on PC back in the day it's probably a pass.
Anyone recommend Prince of Persia Classic? I'm gonna try the demo this week
I pick up most games at the 400 price point, and after trying the demo 2-3 times, I'm still not going to pick it up. I would pick it up for 240 and no more.
Looking forward to the "Ubisoft sale" on 12/6... What do you guys think this might include?
Not to sound too pessimistic here, but I'm guessing the Splinter Cell: Conviction DLC that no one wants and some old Assassin's Creed II DLC.

I really wanted to buy Final Fight since I enjoyed it so much on SNES but after getting Streets of Rage 2 free from PSN+ during my 30-day trial, I've decided that beat-em-ups without a second player sitting next to me is just super boring. Still a great value for what you get but just not for me. Besides, I've got Beyond Good and Evil and Marvel Pinball to play.

If you don't have the Splinter Cell DLC though its well worth it imo.

From Dust is the only Ubi arcade game that hasn't been on sale yet. Either going to be that or rehashes of the Might & Magic:CoH, Outland, and Scott Pilgrim deals we've seen over the last couple months. Smart money is on the latter.

Final Fight has online co-op.

Hopefully they do From Dust and Panzer General .Hope they do an End War dlc sale again because I bought the game after the last time they put it on sale.

I stick it in the FAQ when it gets stale.

Mix Thanksgiving holiday with studying for my calculus exam on Thursday and you get what you have now.

Complaining about it only makes me want to do it less. I know people appreciate the time I put in and are generally understanding when I let the OP chill for a bit.

This list is . Home Alone 3.. WTF? Nah but hopefully this year we see some good dlc and arcade games go on sale. Last year was ok, but qutie a bit of repeats. This year should be fresh and have things that havent or rarely gone on sale.

my bad. I dont pay attention when I eat and type, plus English has never been a favorite of mine for the last 19 years.

It made me cry a little because I bought that game the week it came out, which seems to be the only week it was ever full price :cold:

It's already been stated, but Splinter Cell: Conviction's co-op (which is what the DLC is more of) is phenomenal; that is unless you get randomly teamed up with someone who only speaks Spanish and keeps their mic muted except when they randomly unmute it to call some terrorist 'pendejos.' True story, got to the end of the main game's co-op on the hardest difficulty and then ultimately failed like 20 times in a row cause he didn't understand what we were supposed to do and my screaming louder and louder didn't make him understand English better, for some reason.

Nothing for me in this week's DOTW, which is all good. Couple of days to bank some more points in anticipation of the holiday sale.
