think i'll buy gears season pass, regardless of discount, since i want it anyway. deals suck this year imo, tho wasnt there another new years sale last year? so far i see nothing about one this year :(
12/20 - 1/2 - Countdown to 2012
This is a two part sale. One part lasts the until 1/2, the other is 1 Day only sales.

If they had called this sale the 12 DLC's of Christmas it would have gone down much smoother.

Anyone even thinking about buying Fruit Ninja for $5 should reconsider the eBay auction for Gunstringer+FN for $10 (best offer) as mentioned earlier in this thread.
Probably half off.

I really wanted to buy some games from you Microsoft, (Orcs must die expansion, Magic expansion decks, Trine 2), but looks like I'll be holding on to my points a tad longer.

These "sales" are seriously weak sauce. Most of the people who own the games that have the DLC and season pass packs already have purchased those things by now anyhow, and Fruit Ninja is way overpriced for a game that is just swinging your arms around.

Let's pray Microsoft never ever buys Steam.
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and I doubt your credibility when you say "weak sauce". These deals are fine, they don't have to do them you know. Yes people may have them already but that doesn't mean they aren't good deals. As for Fruit Ninja Kinect, you obviously never played it if you're calling it a game where you "just swinging your arms around".

Well I guess I'm about done for this sale. Last year's had a couple good items and a lot of crap (at least for me). This year appears to be no different. I remember when they put all that freaking dance central DLC on sale....

I'm getting a Kinect next year since it comes with my R2 Xbox so I'm definitely interested in Fruit Ninja but being as there are better ways to get it (see the eBay auctions for it with Gunstringer apparently) I guess I'll pass on another 400msp game. 3 in one sale has got to be some kind of record for me.

Just tried Rock Of Ages but felt it was rather dull and boring. Kind of reminds of Marble Blast Ultra except it's straight to the point, get from point A to point B and knock down the wall...and that's it. I don't see why there is hype for it but oh well. Renegade ops am still debating on getting, 600 msp is the price but feels like a 400 msp game to me.

lol when did that get added to the op?? thanks for the heads up!
I read the 1 day sales so far in front of my dog.
IT MADE MY PUPPY CRY!
When I read that Fruit Ninja kinect had just been discounted, I kicked my dog. Now that bastard knows not to be around me when Microsoft puts up crappy deals that aren't tailored to ME.

*no animals were harmed in the making of this post/sarcasm
For some reason I got my hopes up and thought they'd have Fruit Ninja cheaper than that.
Yeah, you're not alone. You'd figured it would be really cheap since it's Christmas day. 400 MSP seems like what it should normally cost.

A good discount price would have been in the 200 range or less.

I kept thinking about when they marked Splosion Man down to 160. :)

Last year was miles ahead of this years for me (assuming the rest of this list holds true). Between the 2 sales last year I spent about 4800 points for 10 different deals, and would have taken part of 6 more deals if I did not already own the content.

This year I took part in 2 deals, spending 1200 points, and would have taken part in 4 other deals if I didn't already own the content (all of which were available the first day of deals).

That is the same for me right now. That will probably change though when Gears day and Call of Duty day hits.

Merry Christmas CAGs! And a big thank you to Reddjoey for maintaining such an awesome thread!

Well, looks like the leaked list is accurate. Might pick up Sonic 4 when it finally gets down to 400MSP, and will probably pick up the Gears 3 season pass, even if it's only 33% off.

I don't really understand the complaints about this sale, we've got some fantastic games for 50% off for the whole period, the 1 day stuff is just an extra bonus for people who haven't picked up the DLC on their games. I reckon if we had Bastion on day 1, ITSP on day 2, Renegade Ops on day 3, Bloodrayne on day 4, and then Afterburner, Peggle, PvZ, Portal, etc as subsequent daily offers people would be probably be quite happy, but they seem to have developed unreasonable expectations for the 1 day stuff. The Year End sale hasn't had stuff more than 50% off before, has it? Expecting major titles for 160MSP is probably a little greedy.
I don't really understand the complaints about this sale.....The Year End sale hasn't had stuff more than 50% off before has it?
when MS hypes 12 days of sale and then they have one of those days dedicated to "fighting games" and they have SF3 for another day seems kind cheap. Throw in day 2's "kinect arcade games" and then release fruit ninja on day 7??? Seems like they're spacing their shit out to screw the hardcore gamer. Very cheap and slimy to me.

And I remember specifically that Xmen arcade was discounted at least 75% off last year; it was 160 or 200 points right? Down from 800 which it was priced at.....very disappointed with these 12 day sales. Might get Sonic 4 and Call of Duty Classic if they're 400 each. Who knows if that'll happen though

The X-Box Deals have been pretty bad this year. Between this and the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, there hasn't been a lot of good stuff on sale.

I'm cool with the sale. I'm actually kind of glad I don't have to blow through 4000 or 5000 MSP at all once. There will be sales next month and the month after that and I'll pick up some games accordingly.
Me personally, if I had gotten them all now, they would just pile up in a backlog and I would forget about them. At least if I pick them up one by one, I'll dive into them immediately.

this sale sucks so much compared to last year.
last year had all 5 of the summer of arcade titles.
all of the dlc was 75+% off
hell, this year is actually recycling some of last years sales (rdr, sonic, deadliest warrior, etc)
Sonic 4 and the RDR dlc have been on sale at least 5 TIMES each

Only one DLC was 75% off and that was Lair of the Shadow Broker. Alan Wake was 64%, Dance Central song was 67%, Hydro Thunder Hurricane was 67%, the other two ME DLC (Kasumi, Overlord) was 64%. Everything else was 50% (or less, like Undead Nightmare at 25% off)

One damn Kinect game is on sale for Christmas Day and it's Fruit Ninja WHICH IS IN THE HOLIDAY KINECT BUNDLE ALREADY! Most Kinect users interested in it already have it and NONE of the new Kinect users on Christmas Day, myself included, will buy a game they got free. Bravo, MS!

The sale does suck overall, I rarely splurge on a 50% off game these days although if I had serious interest I'd jump on 50% off for a game, but all of the event long sales are only 50% off and the 1 day sales have been, too, as well as not that interesting. I will say that if the Gears and Forza Passes are discounted I will snag them. In Gears' case, even at 30% off you end up paying 21 for what normally costs 45 if bought individually. Easy win.

Last year's BF and Christmas sales were much better though, they had no lesser games they could trot out for 160 or 240 points. That crappy Daggerdale comes to mind.

Not me. $10 was too damn much for that game. $5 is a lot more reasonable and I'm going to buy it right now.

That being said, it isn't so much a sale on the game as it is proper pricing.

Let's all be honest here, these aren't the worst deals. Remember back in 2009 when an SD movie rental on Zune for 80 MSP was the deal for several different days. A fucking rental.

EVERYONE keeps saying Deadliest Warrior is a repeat. The one on sale was the sequel that came out THIS YEAR.

And look at ReddJoey busting out the memory. Yes, some of those days in 2009 were so sad to go check and see... worthless items.

Fruit ninja is one hell of a funny game with your friends. I got a 730 score in arcade mode a couple of days ago. That's after hundreds of trials. lol.
Might get Radiant Silvergun and Bangai-O HD, hopefully they won't go back up until Tuesday.
A bit too late on those.

You guys buying fruit ninja kinect need to check eBay for the holiday bundle download cards. For $10 you get it and gunstringer together and gunslinger is a hell of a lot better than fruit ninja. It fun and funny. A friend of mine was playing it and thought people that would sell those out of their bundles for $10 were fucking idiots.

Overall, it was a very "meh" Holiday Sale. Not enough Arcade games, too much game-specific DLC, 2 wasted days that could've been combined (the 2 Kinect games + Fruit Ninja and the 2 Fighting games + SF3), and yet another Sonic/Sega sale. Still, it could have been a lot worse.

Aside from ITSP and SF3, which I had been dying to see go on sale, Bastion was the entire sale's saving grace. Funny how the best deal was the first Daily Deal.

this really was a terrible set of deals I figured every day would have a selection of things on sale they don't even try to match up with other DDL service sales from Steam and Amazon

oh well very disappointing

Steam and Amazon are direct competitors with PC games but Microsoft is not. They have no need to match Steam and Amazon.

I wish the Fruit Ninja DLC would be on sale too...

I was also kind of hoping the Costume Quest DLC would go on sale, as the game went on sale just before Halloween this year and the DLC is winter-themed.

Disappointing... I don't feel so, even though I haven't bought anything since Day 1 so far.

I got two games I was eyeing at half price. Now, I get to look forward to Gears 3 season pass which I would have never expected to see in a sale like this. Outside the Fallout and my guess Red Dead day, most of this stuff is brand new sale items, which is good to see.

As for comparing to Steam and other PC digital retailers, if you like their prices better buy them for your computer. No one is stopping you. The entitlement is so unreal on this site.

Thank you. Once again, entitlement rears its ugly head around here. These deals are fine.

looks like there is nothing worth picking for me, so I picked up Trine 2 today. The game looks fantastic. Also picked up half minute hero.

Honestly if your expecting some good deals in the next couple of days, all you have to do is look at that leaked list and you'll know whats going to be on sale. All I await is sonic and gears 3 pass.

I don't think the deals are that bad, looking forward to the Gears season pass and thought Bastion and Mortal Kombat Season Pass were good deals.
The list was probably created from the wet dream of a 12-year-old German boy, and likely has about the same chance of being true as... well, the wet dream of a 12-year-old German boy.

In other news, Jon Bon Jovi is dead.
Well, seems to me like that German boy's wet dream came true after all and now you got egg on your face! ;)

Here's an odd question: is there a way to sort on-demand Xbox games by price on xbox.com? I have some points I want to blow.
