Used to have it on my old profile (before it got corrupted), but I always liked it. The friends backgrounds are locations from the game, like a ruined sewer, a nuka-cola machine, a vault boy, etc. I liked it a lot, so it's a good buy.

Thanks for the reply, i'll probably check it out.

Getting Baconing, Pinball FX2 Core. Gonna demo Phantasy Star II, Pinball FX Classic, and Outrun. Have everything else except Magic (not my thing).

Will gladly advise others against Stacking, it's just an adventure game and I really had to force myself to get through it. Looks nice though.

Just to throw in my input on Stacking; it's charming as hell (like Costume Quest), but over time the game starts to drag. Some of the luster wears off after slapping dudes 10 times or scaring them 5 times with whatever unique doll you're wearing. I'm actually on the last stage and haven't finished it as I can only play for an hour or so at the most before getting bored. That said, I bought it for 600 points myself and I don't think it was a waste; I just like CQ better.

I am on the fence for The Baconing I played the first two to completion and actually put a lot of time into them but I am not sure how much "fun" I actually had. It felt like I was just grinding it out for achievements and leveling. The dialog was funny but even after awhile I got sick of it.
Any opinions on Weapon Of Choice? (I'm seeing that game on the Dashboard link instead of "Reap Revenge.")
It's supposed to be one of the best XBLIG's out there, and from the demo I would say it's certainly pretty good. The game hasn't ever been less than 400 before to my knowledge (it came out back when XBLIG's were new and they weren't all 80 points), and was a finalist in the Dream. Build. Play. competition.

Try the demo out, if you like it then help out an indie developer/show Microsoft they should put more indie games into the spotlight like this.

Also posted at Major Nelson:

http://majornelson.com/

I notice xbox.com is calling this a Black Friday sale, whereas Major Nelson is calling it Fan Appreciation. I sometimes wonder about the communication over at MS.

Also, on xbox.com it says I can renew xbox live for 33% off, but when I click on it, it tells me I don't qualify. Anyone else getting this?

EDIT: Duh. First line on the Major Nelson link. You have to be a free user to qualify for this.

Outrun and Streets of Rage for me. Still remember playing Outrun in the arcade.
Nothing is "Gold-Only" this week. Good thing. My gold ends...umm, Wednesday.

Deal of the week is still gold only
I got the marvel tables. So I guess the core and classics aren't good so not worth buying?
Core is supposed to be decent. Classic is best avoided I hear.

Pinball FX2's classic pack, which I got free from my purchase of the original FX, I found to have improvements in its physics (still some wonky events like the ball hanging on Extreme's side bumpers as if they were stairsteps opposed to smooth diagonals). However, I feel they took a step back in fun because they tried to adjust the scoring of the old tables to be more consistent-ish with the new tables [they tried to make 1mil significant]; this caused a lot of the display/led videos to be inaccurate. For example, you may get a 2x multiplier to your score, what is not shown is that the number is immediatly divided by 2; or you get bonus points but not mentioned where that amount is taken away from your score. It would have been nicer if you completed the pinball tasks and the display would say "does nothing."

That may be a reason players should consider other tables/packs first. Then get the classic ones if you can't get enough.

Hope that helps.
I got the marvel tables. So I guess the core and classics aren't good so not worth buying?
Core and classics are very much worth it. Core alone is worth twice what they are asking.

Horrible offers, WTF microsoft?

Last year XBOX had a black friday week and they had some pretty good deals.

They're still doing BF and Cyber Monday sales. Hold your horses there granny.

And these seem to be on-par so far with the deals last time.

What Mr. News said... Calm down, lassie.
Well looks like BFBC2 is 1200 MSP along with BF2. So WTF?
I think there might have been a mix-up. BFBC2 is still $19.99, but the original BFBC is in the sale for $14.99.

OK Boy, I'll keep calm and hold my horses back son!

You sure about that?

Oops, it was Bad Co 1

Picked up Core and Marvel tables and DeathSpank: The Baconing. Almost got Bejeweled 2 but then realized I had played it and it was on the Pop Cap Vol 1 disc.
Oops, it was Bad Co 1
Actually it is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat that had their servers shutdown a few months ago. The servers for Battlefield: Bad Company are still active.

Just a suggestion.. maybe consider putting all of the Pinball FX2 content together in the OP? The Marvel pack is no different than the other two in the way they work or how they're purchased, and anyone who's interested in the first two will probably want to know Marvel is included in the sale too.

I know they're hard to classify as arcade or DLC, but they're all the same however you classify them.
The way sales appear on the new dash is a useless mess
I concur. With everything being hidden away in sub menus and slideshow tiles, I'm more dependant on CAG than ever to make I don't miss out on anything.

Yikes, copy and paste error there. Fixed it.

Yeah, I'll lump them together.

I don't think it's too bad. But I never use the dash to find deals anyway, I always get them from here and Major Nelson.

And just FYI, you probably all figured it out, but on the new dash you can use the right stick to quickly scroll through slideshow tiles.

My least favorite part of the new Dash is how my arcade games are listed. Having over 100, takes forever to scroll through them, even with the bumpers.
Thanks for the info everyone. I will get the core pack but not the classics since everyone but one person thinks they suck.
Both have trials so I'd recommend trying both out before making your decisioin.
Both have trials so I'd recommend trying both out before making your decisioin.
I already bought core and marvel but not classic. I can't try the trial because I don't have an xbox. I sold my twice refurbished original xbox to some dude on craigslist last Friday with the intention of buying a new one on black Friday. I want to make sure I don't miss the sales so I'm buying them on the website.
Both have trials so I'd recommend trying both out before making your decisioin.
Even then it's hard to base a decision on ~20 seconds of gameplay when a lot of these tables are extremely complex and require lots of time to understand the missions and such. The only thing the demo does is let you see what the visuals look like, really.

Looking up videos on youtube or reading reviews of people who have put lots of time into them will probably give you a better idea of what tables are fun.

Yea, I figured that out... eventually.

I wish I could have the list back. It seemed easier and faster to flip through my games or to select the category I want (XBLA, Indie, demo, whatev).

I'm also not liking the lack of the spotlight. (I miss being able to see everything at a single glance.) And the new marketplace is not geared towards browsing - at all. It's more for getting exactly what you already know you want and getting out.

I do kinda like the way that the new dash looks, but navigating can be confusing. Just need to get used to it I guess.
Navigating it makes you feel like it is just a way for them to got more adds in front of your face. And yes. I have a lot of arcade games too and the way they are listed is horrible.

The inside Xbox crazy Larry video is up detailing some more of the deals. Highlights are Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection for 50% off and BGE:HD for 70% off on cyber monday, Mvc2 73% off in black Friday and wait for it everybodys' favorite Risk factions for 75% off. I hope there are more unreleased deals, otherwise the best part of the deal seems to be live already. Seems like they're holding the summer of arcade stuff for the end of year sale.

Holy carp! That's an awesome deal. Beyond Good and Evil HD was definitely worth the original 800 points but at that price it's a hell of a steal!

Hopefully there will be some more equally as awesome deals as well. :)
