The inside Xbox crazy Larry video is up detailing some more of the deals. Highlights are Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection for 50% off and BGE:HD for 70% off on cyber monday, Mvc2 73% off in black Friday and wait for it everybodys' favorite Risk factions for 75% off. I hope there are more unreleased deals, otherwise the best part of the deal seems to be live already. Seems like they're holding the summer of arcade stuff for the end of year sale.
That would be:

Mortal Kombat for 400msp (50%)
BGE: HD for 240msp (70%)
MvsC2 for 320? (73% of 1200 is 324)
And of coarse Risk for 200msp (75%)

I will probably pick up the bottom three.

For $5 I'll probably get MK. For $3 BG&E HD is an insane deal, I'll get it even though the camera controls are awful for inverted-Y only players.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Surely I can get used to it though

Okay here are the deals listed in the video.

Cyber Monday Nov 28
Beyond good and evil 70% off (240)
Marvel Vs capcom 73% off (324)
Risk factions 75% off (200)
Dungeons and dragons daggerdale 50% off (600)

Sorry if this comes out weird. I am on my phone. You have all the available info now.

Isn't that the same price as last time?

Edit: Nope, 800 pts last time. Drat for buying it then and not yet playing it.

I'll grab both of those, loved BG&E on xbox and wouldnt mind playing through it again in HD

I've got 950 points. I will pick up Core and Marvel PX2 table sets BUT I'm going to wait to see what the deals are on the 25th and 28th before I pull the trigger. I only wish there weren't so many impossible achievements.

BG&E is a must-have for XBLA. Personal rule: any game with a take-pictires-with-a-camera mechanic is a good game. (LoZ Windwaker, Bioshock, Toy Story 3, Dead Rising series, etc)

Hmm, tempted to get Full House Poker but with some the achievements now unattainable I might wait for it to go down to 200 MSP.

Probably be a long wait though...

I'll get beyond good and evil since I have everything else. Since I have been wanting some pinball tables, should I get core and marvel, one or the other, or none?

Beyond Good & Evil for 240 is amazing, been wanting to play it for years and now I can get it for the same price of the BG&E outfits in the marketplace.
I hope the Dead Space 2 DLC goes on sale personally. :O Bastion and Half-Minute Hero would be awesome as well.
I REALLY want Bastion to go on sale :p

POKEMON SNAP?!?!

I still fire that bad boy up to this day.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Surely I can get used to it though
I hope I'm able to as well. Playing the demo, I was crashing into wall left and right and looking all over the damn place.

It was like giving the controller to somebody who has never played a game where you use both sticks to move. I was AWFUL!

Rumble Roses?
Streets of Rage 2 is on disc. To get the game specific achievements, I'd need to buy from xbla?
I'll take a look.
Yeah, when it comes to many older games in a collection, the game roms are usually identical but to justify the separate release/price tag they add an online multiplayer option and achievements (as achievements are required of XBLA releases).

This week's sale is a solid start I think, there are some random things but it seems like those worked out in my favour (as I planned on getting Homefront, and just started up AC: Brotherhood). I was hoping that would mean that Black Friday deals would be insane, but.. not so sure about that (Fallout 3, really and for $22.50?, I have no idea about Warhammer, and I believe someone mentioned above that the Poker game wasn't entirely functional). Cyber Monday is shaping up to be fantastic though. (Especially if they include the MK Collection for 400).

Isn't Daggerdale the game that everyone thought was crap/rushed and they actually apologized for? Or am I thinking of a similar-named game?

And with the news of Risk: Factions on sale, I kinda regret buying it earlier in the month for 400.. it's $2.50, but that's $2.50 better invested towards this week's deals. x.x

I bought the Homefront stuff this morning (I had a weird remainder of points), I'm definitely looking @ SMB, the Brotherhood DLC, All 3 sets of FX2 tables (just because I have a feeling a sale isn't going to come around again for a while, at least not for less than 400, though I might not get the Classic after what you guys have said, kinda wish I could just get FX1 instead), and Outrun.

My list of maybes are Stacking (I'd bite if it were 400), The Baconing (I own 0 Deathspank games, and I feel like I can hold out for another sale, but it's tempting because it's a newer title), Fancy Pants Adventure (loved the flash game), and Weapon of Choice.

Gonna try and see if I like Happy Tree Friends or Flotilla or Magic 2012 (never played a Magic game before), and I'd love the old classics like Streets of Rage 2 or Phantasy Star 2, but I just don't think saving $2.50 each is worth jumping on these right now, gotta save the points.

I would say core and marvel, they both had good tables and it is one of the games I do not regret paying full price for, actually it is one of the only games I paid full price for.
If I were a cheap ass and chose only one Pinball pack to buy, which would be the best?
Definitely Core 1st, Marvel 2nd, Classic a distant 3rd. That seems to be the consensus among everyone I've seen, from casual players to the hardcore players.

only thing I'm interested in is BG&E... mostly because I alrdy have a lot of what they're putting on sale / is on sale. hope they add more unannounced things come BF

Ok guess im getting BG&E. I don't even know anything about it but for that much I can't pass on something that has gotten so much love.

This was my biggest hurdle initially. BG&E actually does have an axis adjustment option, but it also inverts the X-axis (you can't adjust each axis separately), making it seem almost unplayable to people who play Y-inverted.

I've noticed Y-inversion seems to be a generational thing. People who started playing more recently, like during the previous generation, all play without inversion...but those of us who started playing 3D games with the N64 were "ruined" by games like Goldeneye 007.

But since I'd downloaded the BG&E at launch, I decided to stick with it. At first I just tried to avoid moving the camera around much whenever I could. But after finishing the game, the next time I popped in Borderlands or Reach or something, it was like something was suddenly wrong! I discovered that playing through BG&E had somehow managed to "cure" me, and I've been playing everything un-inverted nowadays. (Well, except that I still wanted the ship in BG&E to drive Y-inverted, because its supposed to be like airplane controls, c'mon!)

Holy crap, there's a ton of sales happening/coming up. The old thread would have imploded by now lol

From the FA sale, I'll be getting DaVinci, SMB, Bejeweled 2 and the Marvel and Core Tables. For those Friday/Monday sales, I'll defintitely snag BG&E for $3. Oh and to Risk Factions on sale - fuck you.
Is the classic pack worth getting? I've been waiting forever for pinball fx tables to go on sale and I never played the original.
The Classic pack is the original Pinball FX, and it can be played on Pinball FX2, the Core pack is Pinball FX2 tables. No need to buy the classic tables if you own the first one, it would just be a waste of money since you can already play it with Pinball FX1 purchase. Pinball FX1 is the weakest of the 3 sets imo.
Is the classic pack worth getting? I've been waiting forever for pinball fx tables to go on sale and I never played the original.
It's a distant 3rd behind the other two, but if you're going to get it, 400 points is the price you're going to want to pay for it. They do lack a lot of the features that the newer tables possess, and they were tweaked to be "on par" with the newer tables scorewise, which apparently didn't work too well.

I haven't played it yet, but I did base my purchase earlier on the opinion that they aren't worth 800 as a pack, but they are worth 400. The other two packs are worth every penny of 800, so they're a steal at 400.

Basically, don't expect the same quality as the tables that were made directly for PFX2, but they're worth 100 each if you're into pinball.

If you're only given 400 points and have to choose between Classic and some of the single tables, though, most of the single tables are probably a better option even though they aren't on sale.
Is the classic pack worth getting? I've been waiting forever for pinball fx tables to go on sale and I never played the original.
At just a little over a buck a table... I think they are more than worth it. They aren't as good as the newer Core and Marvel packs, but they are still good fun.

Those Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are pretty solid. Glad I got like $100 in free Microsoft Points from the Kinect demo (multiple visits) where I work. :) Not to mention the 1100 Microsoft Points from Bing Rewards last week. Gonna need them.

Probably going to end up getting some pinball tables as well... damn that paranormal table for giving me one single achievement. Now it stares at me, taunting.
My first console was Collecovision, and I prefer not inverted.
Mine was Intellivision and I prefer inverted. I think the whole inversion issue comes from when you started playing FPSs. If you played the originals like DOOM and Wolfenstein on PC about a billion years ago you probably played inverted (I'm assuming the default control scheme was inverted since I doubt I was smart enough to mess with control schemes when I was living in the signle digits) and thus that's why most older gamers prefer inverted (at least this is my how it worked for me). If you didn't play those back then you probably started much later and played it with some strange (pardon the insult) console configuration that was simply (and here comes another small insult) inferior to the control of a PC.

Non-inverted simply doesn't make sense. While this is a bit silly for my taste this recent IGN video does an excellent job of explaining why inverted is the way everyone should play. If you don't that's your choice of course, everyone has their own style.

I've never played Doom or Wolfenstein, and I play inverted. I think the first shooter I ever played was Perfect Dark. But I'm sure I'm just the exception lol

I don't think Doom or Wolfenstien have anything to do with it. You couldn't look around in those games. I think it may have something to do with flight simulators. Before FPS with freelook most games that used analog controls had you piloting a vehicle, and if you carried over that control scheme inverting makes sense. That's how you fly a plane. Even if you didn't play those games the people who were designing games did, so it may have been the default for some of them.

I don't play inverted. I started playing FPS with a mouse. I knew how to use a mouse before games implemented freelook. If I want to move my cursor up I move the mouse up. If I want to move my crosshairs up I mov my mouse up. When controllers got an analog stick for camera control and FPS worth a damn were available to play using them I transferred the same movement to the stick.

I also play my PC games with ESDF instead of WASD. I started that when the default movement bindings tended to be arrow keys. It worked well because those extras keys to the left of my hand could be bound and hit with my pinky. It gave me a lot more options for grenades, weapon selection, etc. I only relay that to say that default bindings never got in my way, so I have no idea how camera controls were by default back then.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were default inverted, which are what did me in.

I played the hell out of the X-Wing series of flight sims games way back when. That'll get you inverted. Goldeneye was my most played FPS ever on top of that, so I'm inverted 4 life.

The old school people you're talking about, who use inverted y axis controls, are people who used joysticks and got used to it. That's not all old school people, it's the old school people that went with then inferior input device. Thankfully, I never fell into that trap and was a keyboard player from the start, then kb/m when the y axis became important.

I did the same thing with ESDF FOREVER, years and years of Quake with ESDF. I don't know when, maybe 4 or 5 years ago, I just got tired of remapping and have given in to WASD. It really does seem inferior, but I'm not very competitive anymore.

Isn't Daggerdale the game that everyone thought was crap/rushed and they actually apologized for? Or am I thinking of a similar-named game?
Yep. That was Daggerdale. Buggy as hell and lackluster gameplay at best. If it goes to 400, consider it then... maybe. (Honestly, you'd be better off getting a copy of Neverwinter Nights somewhere for your D&D fix.)
