Lmao, I love the new OP. That's wut dem griefers get.

Looks like my prayers for a sale on SF2THDR after that MvC2 sale were answered, I remember being incredibly pissed that I missed them the last time they were on sale 50% off a few months ago.

I know it's a recycled sale that could have been better, but it was nice that the leak about Final Fight being on sale that we heard about months ago actually came true. I have a feeling that I might just buy all the titles in the DotW for the first time evar because you know, I didn't piss away enough money on MSP during the Fan Appreciation Sale.

I think it's funny that they couldn't just A) include the Brotherhood DLC in the Ubi sale and B) include PoP classic in the Ubi sale. Guess they wanted more Brotherhood DLC sales since everyone was splurging or whatever.

As much as I loved playing the Lara Croft demo with the ex, I can't justify spending the 600 on it, when I've broken my 400 points or less rule last week AND this week. It's a shame Best Buy isn't selling the online codes for $5 anymore. :( Missed out.

I'll pass on Ghostbusters Sanctum of Shit until it gets a price drop to 400 as it should, and goes on sale for 50% off. There's a reason they have it on sale so often despite being an 800 title. Is PoP Classic pretty much identical to the version in Sands of Time's Xbox version? Might try the demo out if I have the time since I'm expecting a heavy work week.

Hope the Ubi sale includes Conviction DLC and the Epilogue DLC mentioned earlier, I'm not expecting much, honestly.

Also, for the thousands of you who have been waiting anxiously since the Sonic Generations avatar stuff got postponed, I'm assuming that the new release date is accurate. I guess they wanted to let the people who pre-ordered from GS enjoy their exclusives a little longer.

Lol, Apples to Apples is an XBLA game..
Boughten is not a word, young squire.

Yes, Magic Sword does go on way too long.
Crap, I didn't notice that "double" impact meant there were 2 games!! I loved both games in the arcade. Now I'm considering buying this for $5. Anyone have an extra 2-day gold lying around they dont want? I dont have gold status, and it's silly for me to go out and buy one just for this.
Anyone have an extra 2-day gold lying around they dont want? I dont have gold status, and it's silly for me to go out and buy one just for this.
AFAIK the promotional 48 hour Gold accounts won't let you buy the games for their sale prices.
Copy and paste from the OP:
Well that's a damn shame. I'll have to pass then!

Edit: Crap, I cant let it go. If anyone has a 1 month code they want to let go for $2 (paypal), let me know. I know it's sometimes $1 on the dashboard, but I refuse to give them my CC info.

Oh, almost forgot to mention in that big-ass post earlier, if you haven't bought any DotW stuff yet, I'd suggest waiting 'till tomorrow, since there'll be a new Live Rewards promo. At least that's what I usually do. Hopefully it's better than this month's. :/ And lol at the person who thought all of these were ports, not at all.
Anyone recommend Prince of Persia Classic? I'm gonna try the demo this week
The game is pretty enjoyable. Once you get use to the controls the prince becomes a fairly nimble character and you'll find yourself flying through the levels. The combat is simple and doesn't get in the way of the platforming too often. There is one very difficult achievement that requires you to beat the entire game without dying.

Trying the demo for yourself is defiantly the way to go. Even if the demo is only a level or two it'll give you a good idea of what the entire game is like.

I have to come in from the other side of the fence on this one.

Prince of Persia was my first arcade purchase and the one I regret above all others. I felt the controls are sloppy and sluggish. You can get fluid movement most of the time but there are times when you will jump down into a spike pit instead of grabbing onto the ledge above.

This game made me want to throw my controller through the TV and not in fun/frustrating way like Trials. The controls just feel broken. The combat is slow but simple and easy. The actual "platforming", roughly 95% of the game, just doesn't work with the controls.

No offense ot anyone who digs the game, it just feel broken to me.

EDIT: Like Thrinn said, try the demo.

I'm the same way. I haven't put my CC into the dashboard and I'd like to avoid doing so as long as possible. However, if it matters to you they apparently made it much easier to remove when they updated xbox.com this month.

The link is here. It appears that there's a list of your payment options and you can get rid of them on that page, but since I don't have anything on file I can't say for sure.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try this as a last resort!

Anyone else try Voltron yet? I'm waiting for the demo to download, but I'm not getting my hopes up, considering it's by the same guys who did Ghostbusters: SoS, which I thought was boring & repetitive.

I can't disagree with the controls feeling sluggish, but I only had issues with it at the start. It seemed more like the controls were a slave to the lavish character animations. It was like that in the original, but maybe they would have been better off updating the controls for a modern audience. Once I got use to hitting the jump button earlier than I would in other games it didn't seem as much as an issue to me. After that point it felt like a whole new game.

Unsurprisingly I've heard that it's a dull dual stick shooter from a couple of different people. Actually, that's what every impression that I've read has said.

Just downloaded the trial for Voltron (it's a lot bigger than I imagined), will let you know what I think of it.

Also, if you guys need help turning off Auto Renew after you give them your monies, lemme know.

Saw that Batman's skin pack isn't on the Add-On list on Major Nelson's page, I hope that's just him not mentioning it...

The skin pack comes out next week, but before you buy it look at what skins it comes with. I saw that gs has the sinestro skin for the 360, so that MAY be the route i take until I see.

Bummer Capcom sale didn't inlude titles that haven't been on sale. Would have enjoyed picking up SF III, or RE4, Code Veronica, and a few other titles/dlc.

I forgot, is it 12 days of xmas daily deals, or a different number. I just threw 12 out, I cannot remember honestly. Love this time of year for xbox aracade deals. There is always 1-2 super deals/games I want.

Now I just need to find a deal on MS points.

Looks like they did a "Countdown to New Years last year", from Dec. 21 - Dec. 31. So 11 days. They also had a few sales that lasted for a full week, including everyone's favorite Risk Factions.

Here is the link to LAST YEAR's holiday deals.

I thought GS was just selling the skin pack that was going to be on the marketplace, like they usually do.

Can't wait for Sonic CD... to be 400 >_>; Still haven't gotten a chance to try out Voltron either.

Question: I know BB's XBLM code selling service is expanding and they have some old titles like TMNT and Marble Blast Ultra (they also had some good prices on Lara Croft: GoL and one of the MW2 mappacks, but I guess since they sold so well, they jacked the prices back up..), and I see Gamespot's site apparently has "Marble Ultra Blast DLC" for sale for $5 (the 2 premium packs sold for 200 MSP each, and there was a free one) and I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not this "Marble Ultra Blast DLC" was just a download code for the game, or was the actual game's DLC and what it included. Thanks in advance for reading through that bunch of rambling text.

Side-note: All the recent looking I've been doing into delisted games makes me really appreciate how they handled Outrun's delisting, why can't more delisted games be like that before they go? They don't have to make a huge deal out of it and just give it away, but an advance warning and a sale is nice.

My guess is that "Marble Blast Ultra DLC" is just referring to the main game and not the actual DLC for the game. But I could be wrong.

The link for anyone who would like to see what we're referring to:

Probably. :( I was hoping it was some sort of magical DLC pack of the 3 add-ons. Never heard of the game until recently, would have gladly picked up at least the free one. Thanks for the link for clarification.

Also Joey, you should expect crap tomorrow from the griefers when you don't update your OP regarding December releases/Xbox Rewards stuff. You've only earned yourself a day's reprieve. :(

Oh I got the fix for you complainers.
Incoming 90's style web setup. I'm talking tables, non-stop midi background music, scrolling marquee, blinking text, and low-res jpgs.

. This is by far my favorite thread on this website. Keep it up joey. Hope your not playing too many videogames and are keeping up with your studies young man:shame:

I think someone at MS forgot about D&D Daggerdale. Its still 600 points.
I can't wait for Sonic CD. My system crapped out after about 2 hours of play time on it and I never replaced it.

Done with my studying for the night. My calc exam's at 9am.

I'll likely sneak in some MW3, and since Skyrim's broken, I can play some other games for a while when I get home.

WELCOME TO 1992!
I think they're keeping it up until someone's dumb enough to buy it.
Lol, I was just gonna say that they planned a price drop all along and it was just a ruse to get people to buy it while it was "on sale for a day", but your idea is nicer.
WELCOME TO 1992!
Wow, 1992? That's pretty cool if you were surfing the information superhighway back then. I started with Prodigy in 1995. Do you remember when you actually had to pay for every hour you were online? It made playing Federation an expensive habit.

Thanks for the web nostalgia, Joey. I used to hand-code Geocities websites for friends for $50 and I used those elements often! Don't forget the really cool sites that had the 3D spinning skulls or endless fire animations. It's weird that it's actually been enough time to be nostalgic about but sometimes I go to the Wayback Machine just to look at the early web for fun and to remember a simpler time.

Anyway, I already have everything I want for the next 2 weeks. Here's hoping for a great New Year's countdown thing again this year. Hydro Thunder and MNC were great deals last year.
Played Super Meat Boy some yesterday and all day today and beat it (the daytime levels). Took me like 8 hours. That game is really hard but awesome. I wonder how Splosion Man compares in difficulty...
I got Super Meat Boy monday and agree about it being hard but awesome and I feel like it's the best 400 points I've spent, maybe even the best $5 I've ever spent on anything. I have to wonder if anyone really plays it much though because it can be pretty easy to get into the top 1000-2000 on the leaderboards, I even have a handful of levels in the top 100 and I don't consider myself to be all that good of a gamer.

Anyways, am definitely going to pick up Final Fight since I used to play it on my brothers old snes when I was little but am on the fence about Age of Booty. Does anyone know if many people were playing it before it got hot again when it went on sale?

They just announce that Back to Karkand is releasing on the PS3 12/6 so expect to see it available on XBLA on 12/13 for those who are holding vouchers and those looking to buy (expect it to be 1200 points).

Besides the added maps (4), weapons (10), and vehicles(3), the Expansion adds a new game mode (makes me happy).

Conquest Assault is a Battlefield 3 game mode that is very similar to the regular Conquest mode, where the core gameplay is about capturing and holding control points. Conquest Assault however, pits one team as attackers and the other as defenders. Conquest Assault is only available in the Back To Karkand expansion pack.

Also they are adding "Assignments" in order to unlock the 10 weapons.

Battlefield 3 Assignments are a new way to earn unlocks in the game. There are total of 10 Assignments, as a part of the Back To Karkand expansion pack. Each assignment must be completed in order to unlock one of the Back to Karkand weapons. In addition, players will receive a dog tag for completing each assignment. The 10 Battlefield 3 assignments are:
 • Best Friend Forever. Unlock: FAMAS
 • Fixing it. Unlock: MP5
 • Let It Rain. Unlock: QBB-95
 • Spec Ops. Ulock: QBU-88
 • Familiar Territory. Unlock: PP-19
 • Professional Russian. Unlock: L85
 • It Goes Boom. Unlock: QBZ-97 / Type-97
 • Keep Your Head Down. Unlock: MG36
 • Creeping Death. Unlock: L96
 • Scarred Veteran. Unlock: Jackhammer

The Live team is determined to disappoint me, this month's reward is just 200MSP for three Zune purchases. I was fortunate last month the dashboard offered 1 month of Gold for $1, and now paypal & removal of payment information on the xbox site is easy to get the paltry 20MSP.

It isn't easy being both, a CAG and a gold member, due to Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and New Years Countdown sales are open to all; so far the gold exclusive DotW offers me 3/4 items I already have. I too hoped a Capcom sale included Puzzle Fighter and Third Strike. I will have to keep waiting.

As for the Ubisoft sale next week, I think I already got all the Ubisoft XBLA titles I could want on sale already: Scott Pilgrim, Outland, Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, Beyond Good & Evil, even Turtles in Time Reshelled. If there are other great Ubisoft games, please introduce me to them. However, I'd wait for them to be on sale, since Ubisoft does tend to have a few deals featured on Live.

Defense Grid: You Monster is the first full story expansion of the award-winning game and will be available for download from both Steam and Xbox LIVE Arcade on December 7, 2011.

GLaDOS, the menacing AI from Valve’s awesome Portal franchise, guest stars in this new 8-level Defense Grid expansion. Players will battle not only alien hordes, but the deviousness of GLaDOS as she tests the player’s skills and changes all of the rules. In addition to the 8 new maps, Defense Grid: You Monster features 35 challenge missions, many new achievements and over 15 hours of additional game play. Defense Grid: You Monster will be available for $4.99 or 400 Microsoft points and requires the original game to play.
If you don't have a gold account, what's the smallest pass a person can activate to get in on the gold deals? 48 hour pass?
I think you can buy Gold subs one month at a time.
