Yes another +1 for Outland.

I'm disappointed that all our speculation was correct, and From Dust only dropped to 800. I'm double disappointed that I bought Clash of Heroes at 800 points and haven't even touched it yet. Oh well.

Also, I'm thinking some of these price "changes" may be monthly price drops not associated with the Ubisoft Sale. I think Interpol and Texas Hold'em don't have anything to do with Ubisoft, Wikipedia says they're both Tik Games. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Outland is an easy pick if you missed the last sale.

I'm jumping on panzer general. Been waiting for that sale.

Da vinci dissappearance recommendations? I'm playing through brotherhood now so it's good timing but revelations is sitting on my pile too...

Anyone know if the your shape fitness dlc transfers or dots anything for the new 2012 version?

Can't stress my love for the Splinter Cell Conviction co-op enough. Without it, the game would of been traded in within two days of buying it, with it, it earned a spot on my
"keep" shelf (course I do have a friend who has it too and I play with him from time to time).
Damn, Ubi is smashing MS in the quality of sales here. I am in for Panzer and PoP DLC..want to pull the trigger on From Dust, but I would prefer it on Steam and will wait to see how cheap it gets during the holiday sale.
I was gonna get From Dust on Steam, until I heard it was poorly optimized. The 360 version is the definitive one.

I picked up:
*Might & Magic DLC- 240 pts
*Might & Magic- 600 pts (XBLA)
*Bloody Good Time- 200 pts (XBLA)
*Prince of Persia- 400 pts (XBLA)
*Panzer General- 200 pts (XBLA)

Gah, that sucks. I would definitely prefer this type of game on my laptop. Guess I may bite for it on XBLA now.

I loved outland, and might &magic was great (except the load times), I'm a couple hours into from dust and I am enjoying it as well, the lava mechanics add an interesting twist to gameplay
Is the Prince of Persia DLC something that goes on sale relatively often, or should I pick it up now? The game itself is still sitting in my backlog but I intend to play it soon.
Considering a few pages ago people were complaining that the PoP DLC has NEVER gone on sale I would probably recommend picking it up if you intend to play it. That's what I'm going to do.
It's really hard for me to say no to $2.50 games. I'm in for Bloody Good Time (assuming you can play with bots, I'm sure online is non-existant) and probably will end up with Panzer General, even though I didn't understand it when I was playing the demo.
Same here. I'll blindly buy almost any game for 200msp. I think 'Splosion Man was the only 200msp or less game I haven't bought and I know I made the right decision there. Going to play their demos today before pulling the trigger though, just in case they are completely worthless.

Also throwing my hat into the Outland is great ring. Just based on the demo I was blown away. IIRC IGN gave it something in the area of a 9 so you can rest assured the game is high quality. The only reason I haven't jumped straight into it is I intend to run through the entire game coop with my brother and he's been too busy with Dungeon Defenders and in the last week moving.

Geometry Wars 2 is another game I would HIGHLY recommend. I have it on disc but am considering buying it on XBLA for the convenience. GW2 is greatly greatly improved over the first game. The various modes all have a distinct feel and are quite enjoyable. If you like the first one absolutely snag the second.

Once again right about everything except 'Splosion Man. Haha J/K but I totally agree, Geometry Wars 2 is lightyears ahead of the 1st one. Definitely worth $5. Some of the achievements are a lot of fun to go for as well, though they are difficult.
Ok, temp lists is up minus the GoD sales/drops that aren't published by Ubisoft. I'll add links after class.

Thanks again to Splyon for running xbldb.com and making my job easier.
My pleasure. I started the site because the scanner was finding me deals and I wanted to share it. It's been a great learning experience for me.

Also don't forget It's the first Tuesday of the month so we have family pack, December price reductions all mixed in there.

Glad I didn't waste 160+ points on buying it on XBLA when it came free with my $10 triple pack. If I ever actually want to play the game it's on there. I know I gripe about 'Splosion Man but remember boring does not necessarily equal bad. I just don't get the fanaticism around it.

And I agree some of the achievements are tough as nails in GW2. Whatever I am missing still are so because they are brutal. Still a great game.

I just checked the dash and Voodoo Dice is included in the sale. Haven't seen that posted yet, perhaps it just dropped in price? Instapurchase. I was tempted when it perma-dropped to 400 a few months ago. 200 is a no-brainer.

I agree the gold exclusive stuff, Geo Wars 2, is the family pack deal, some of the others are probably permanent price reductions.

That triple pack was an awesome deal once it dropped in price. I owned all 3 so it wasn't any good for me, but still great for others.

Voodoo Dice is awful, I barely made it half way through. Lining up those dice numbers is a pain in the ass. I paid 400 a long time ago on sale, one of my few 400 point regrets.

Already owned Trials myself but I was in it for Limbo more or less even though I believe it had been on sale for less. Always like to go the disc option when I can.

Sad to hear Voodoo Disc isn't your cup of tea. I found it to be mindless fun. Of course it should get harder and require some thought later on in the game, but the early levels seemed to be enjoyable.

I'm interested to see how far you get into it and if you're able to beat it. I actually really enjoyed it for the first world and a half, then the difficulty went up and I was just awful at matching the dice numbers. I wasn't having any fun so I quit.

I also try to go disc-based whenever possible. Mostly because it actually has resell value if I don't like the game or compete it and don't feel like I'll ever want to replay it.

I just want to recommend everyone picking up Might & Magic Clash of Heroes. Its easily my favorite experience on XBLA. Campaign took me about 25 hours to complete everything, the sprites are fantastic and the battle system is nothing short of addicting and the online multiplayer is pretty fun (though probably just about dead unless you got a friend to play with.) The only negative of the game is that the story plays out like a saturday morning cartoon.
is the Assassin's Creed II DLC worth picking up? I got the game recently (have never played it before, nor any AC game), and wondering if I should grab the DLC now that it's on sale.
I would like an opinion on this as well. I'm currently playing through it and enjoying the game, but would like to know if DLC adds anything special.

The only trouble is the backlog. For 200 points it may be a while before I get to it. Then again I may just try to play it sometime this week and see how far I get.

For me the reason to get disc based is probably the same reason people avoid disc based. I like having it on my shelf. I'm a sucker for box/disc art and you don't get to see it when it's a digital game. That being said I'm probably going to have to throw out my MK 9 TE box since it's sitting in the garage taking up way too much space. :( (I bought it at launch and I just can't bare to throw it away)

Picked up the Prince of Persia - Epilogue. Now maybe I'll go back and replay the game.
I started it a long time ago but never finished it. Probably have to start over because I forgot where I left off.

My opinions on some of the DLC, since people are asking for advice:

I just finished playing the Davinci Disappearance for AC:B, and while it is fairly short, I think it's worth 400 MSP. I finished the main story in less than two hours. However, I thought it was reasonably engaging from a story standpoint, even if the ending is very anticlimactic. It's not up to the level of the main game, but if you're looking for more AC:B, it's definitely worth picking up at that price. Also has 250 gamerscore, though the one big 100 point achievement is for fully synching the game and DLC, which is more effort than I'm willing to put in.

I played PoP: Epilogue about a year ago (paid full price because I didn't think it would ever go on sale). For $10, it's not necessarily a good deal, but for $5, you'll definitely get your money's worth. A fair warning: it doesn't resolve anything from the ending of the main story, so you're not gonna get any closure, but in terms of gameplay, it's very similar to the main game. I can't remember exactly how long it took me to complete, but it was somewhere around 2 and a half hours. Also adds 250 gamerscore, most of which is relatively easy, but there are some missable achievements, including one for beating the DLC in under 2 hours.

are you kidding me? splosion man is better than 99% of downloadable games

too hard for you?
I was like, "Oh, neat, Interpol! That looks pretty cool."

Metacritic: 45.

Flaming pass.
Just like how I'm like "hey, Cudlcept is on the 360, that's one of my reasons for getting the system" ... metacritic, 75 ... "oookay." Or "oh boy, this X-blades is quite enjoyable (to me, and me alone) to see a Russian developed game trying a Japanese style," ... metacritic, 50 ... "well, I still like it." Then there's the highest rated XBLA title based on the dashboard's "popularity contest" community star system, Castle Crashers, and I really disliked it [conversely, I loved Scott Pilgrim (similar style of game)]. Point is, my opinion is quite odd, and it is quite likely my tastes will not match yours.

That being said, I really do like Outland, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Beyond Good & Evil, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. Although the last title is buried in my backlog, I already love what I have played of it. Do give the games a try.

Strong sale of repeat XBLA titles, but they have to be ramping up to amaze me, right? Right?

Anyone know when the Ubisoft sale ends?
Got Prince of Persia - Epilogue. It was a DotW years ago, and it was one of the few repeats I was hoping for.
Just like how I'm like "hey, Cudlcept is on the 360, that's one of my reasons for getting the system"
You are not alone. That was precisely what sealed the deal to me becoming a boxhead this gen.
I would like an opinion on this as well. I'm currently playing through it and enjoying the game, but would like to know if DLC adds anything special.
It's not particularly special, but it's kind of fun. I loved ACII, so I loved the DLC. But YMMV. It's honestly just more and more opportunities to kill people. A nice break of killing people before Brotherhood or Revelations, where you kill people. I will say though that if you're having trouble with the kill 10 guards without being hit achievement, two really easy opportunities pop up in the DLC. For whatever that's worth.

Totally understand, Bloody Good Time and Panzer General are going to fall to the back end of my backlog as well.

I'd assume it lasts all week, so it'd end Tuesday

If you have not picked up this game do so, its a very different puzzle type game. The RPG elements make it alot better than any match 3 game.
Im hoping the sale will bring some new people into the MP, as I need 2 cheevos. It gets pissy when you finally find someone to play & they're leveled up in the hundreds and you're only at 10. I actually had one guy kick me from the game as he kept beating me over and over.

In for outland, thanks OP.

Also interested in these:
Zeit Squared
Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, how does this compare to DS version? Ive got it on DS as well, havent played it
Lara Croft Guardian of Light
Geometry Wars 2
From Dust
Assassins Creed 2 Sequence 12
Panzer

Will give these a trial to see how I like them.. not sure on From Dust though.. even if I do like it, 800MSP is a lot

Lara Croft & Geometry Wars 2 I can heartily recommend. Zeit was ok, I bought it for 400 a while back and I think that's a fair price for it.
Ahhh thats why I haven't picked it up yet! It's another puzzle quest clone.

Actually, how does it compare to puzzle quest?

M&M Clash of Heroes has more in common with Columns than it does with Bejeweled as far as the gameplay goes. That's just from watching the quicklook. The gameplay has a definite vs feel - you aren't even playing pieces on the same side of the board as your opponent. I will probably pick it up this time since I missed it last sale and immediately kicked myself. Only debating b/c my MS Point well is running dry, down to my last 1900, possibly for the year. =/
Is Outland really difficult? I recall enjoying the demo and thinking I would get it when it's on sale.
It's not really difficult, it's just one of those games that especially 1/3 in you have to rely on timing and patience to get through levels. I Know it took me the longest time to beat the final boss, but so worth it and the controls feel amazing.

And I agree some of the achievements are tough as nails in GW2. Whatever I am missing still are so because they are brutal. Still a great game.

This is just not true, compared to GW1 this is a cake walk.

If anybody is put off GW2 by the difficulty of GW1, this is much MUCH easier. Played it on my brothers system & completed it in an afternoon which is the only reason i am not buying it.
are you kidding me? splosion man is better than 99% of downloadable games

too hard for you?
Not really too hard, just boring. I played for I think it was an hour or so and found myself asking myself "Why am I still playing this?" and so I stopped. It's not a bad game, just boring.

Oh, and I was playing the full version at my brother's house FWIW.

Yeah, the last boss requires some patience. If anyone is thinking about getting the collectibles in the game, I suggest they get the Marks of the Gods before they go into that last battle. The reward that you unlock makes it much easier.

Lol. I didn't say the achievements were easier in GW1. I was speaking in general. I have I think 4-6 achievements in GW2 but only like 2 in GW1. Both games' acheivements are challenging to get but GW2 is definitely easier to get some gamerscore out of than GW1.

Outland is a no brainer for 400 points. As a metroidvania, it's very linear and the puzzles are far from challenging, but the Ikaruga mechanic is what puts it over the top. Makes for some challenging platforming sections and boss battles, especially the final boss. The art style looks amazing as well. It's up there with Trenched/Iron Brigade as best downloadable game of the year IMO. Also it's much better than Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, a similar style game that seemingly got much more attention, but was ultimately fairly disappointing for me.

Anyway, I'm tempted by Might and Magic for 600 points, but I'm almost positive it will be even cheaper during the upcoming Steam sale.

Agree 100% with your Outland opinion. Great game and a steal at 400 M$. However, I would throw Bastion in there for GOTY along with Trenched ;)

M&M is also a wonderful game. I played the heck out of it on my DS.
