Very disappointed with the season pass 1000 points too much. Didn't get a single thing during the holiday sales
I'm not sure the 4 DLC packs would ever get to 200 each...
Am I the only one that thought the deals this year were fine? I had picked up several games on my wishlist (Sonic 4 at its cheapest, Renegade Ops, Bastion, ITSP) and while I can understand people being upset that Season Passes getting discounted so soon, it makes them a lot more palatable to me. Probably will get the Gears 3 one. I think the biggest problem was starting off with the big gun, Bastion, and people thinking we'd be seeing a lot more huge XBLA games for sale.
This year's holiday sales have been the best so far:

 1. All of the premium games were available to purchase for two weeks.
 2. Three season passes were discounted (two of them for relatively new games).
 3. None of the days were dedicated to movie rentals.
 4. Two DotW promotions ran alongside the twelve day countdown.
 5. The leaked list was 100% accurate for North America.
 6. Sonic Ep4 was finally discounted to a reasonable price.
The only Summer of Arcade game that hasn't been on sale is Toy Soldiers: Cold War. This is understandable considering how many units he TS games sell.
They were good deals, and you're right about Bastion getting people's hopes up out the gate, but I think the frustration is directed at MS in general with their Direct Download pricing. This is the future for MS and the Xbox brand and their pricing is not attractive compared to STEAM or even PSN which is free. That is fine, it is their service, but when my Gold runs out in a year and a half and the new gen of consoles is released, I have no plans to stick with MS.
You either have a selective memory or are relatively new to Xbox LIVE. Marketplace sales have gotten progressively better with time. You aren't thinking very clearly if you expect Microsoft to offer games as cheap as Steam. I agree that PSN is beginning to edge its way over XBLA with innovations like preorder bonuses and release week discounts, but all of the free games and premium deals require a Plus subscription.

so what are the odds of seeing the Call of Duty Elite membership on sale tomorrow for the COD content sale? I hope it is as that's the only thing I would be remotely interested in for the COD stuff. I won't be overly surprsied if its just MW2 and Black Ops map packs and a bunch of avatar items on sale.

Its as good as the Knicks getting both Howard and Paul in free agency and winning the next 7 nba titles. Its not going to happen

I need some advice. I've had the orange box for a couple of years but have not had a chance to play any of it. Is the extra content in the XBLA version of Portal worth the double-dip?
I really don't mind picking up the same game twice is there is something extra that is worth it. Heck, I've just picked up the XBLA version of PvZ even though I own the 360 disc version and I have it for the DS & PC just because it's a game I really enjoy and would get a kick of unlocking a different set of achievements.

Still Alive has the original 14 plus 14 additional puzzles.

Yeah I know, but it's based on fan made levels. Heck with it, it's only 600 points. Picked it up.

btw... what were the movie deals? i know there were some but i havent been able to get zune marketplace to work at all since the dashboard update, just says its downloading over and over (not that i'd buy anything, but maybe cheap enough rentals on a movie i havent seen or something)

COD 4 is $15, Variety Map Pack $5.

That's all xbldb has caught so far.

I'd assume they'll add more unless MS wants to piss people off...which might be true.

They better add more. It is possible for them to finally discount black ops maps since they did the same for MW2 in October 2010. That and I would like to get black ops map packs.

From this sale total I got Renegade Ops, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Bastion, Fallout: NV Lonesome Road, Fallout: NV Old World Blues, Fallout: NV Honest Hearts, Fallout: NV Dead Money, LA Noire season pass and Gears of War 3 season pass. So I can't complain. I've basically spent more points then I wanted, but I'd call it a good sale eitherway.
Yeah MW2 at 2400 and its DLC packs are both at 600. Just like back in October 2010 (I think).
Yup, lets see if they can throw in some content that wasn't released more than 20 months ago.

Not that I care, I'm not gonna buy anything. But seriously, if this is it, it's just plain awful.

I wouldn't bother with today's deals anyway to be honest. If you like playing Call of Duty then they released a new map pack in stores recently, it's on a disc and everything.
Yes, but it's a lot more fun if you have friends to play it with.
well i was making sure it was a good buy before i bought it and gave a few people the heads up to get it
Do people even play Call of Duty 4? I was hoping for Call of Duty Classic or even black ops add ons,but not COD 4.
My friend bought his girlfriend COD4 about a month ago so she could figure out how to move using two sticks. So there's at least one person playing it. :)
Where did you guys see the Call of Duty Deals? I want to buy the Black ops map packs for half price.
Thats what Im wanting too, but I am thinking they are only do the first two Modern Warfare games because of the new one. Sucks because the Black Ops dlc has never been discounted before (to my knowledge)

Well, just checked this thread hoping for CoD classic to be discounted and it's all shit that's been discounted already. Oh, kinda like RDR and the slap in the face season pass discounts.....I'll wait for the EA sale. Maybe Shank at 400 and Dead Space dlc discounted?? YEAH RIGHT lulz

Considering Shank is normally 1200 MSP, you'll have a better chance getting it at 600 after discount. Plus Dead Space DLC isn't too farfetched considering it's been out for almost a year now. Crysis 1 for half off though, that's farfetched.

Didn't Shank drop to 800msp?

I was just kidding about the shank and dead space 2 stuff. I know Shank has dropped to 600 once and DS2 dlc hasn't gone down yet, but considering how crappy these CoD sales are(so far) I wouldn't put it past EA to do more repeat sales like Activision, Take Two and MS have done so far during these 12 day countdowns

I am not holding my breath, but with how the GoW 3 Avatar shield didn't appear right away last night I personally shall remain slightly optimistic and hope for Rezzurection to be on sale.
Yup, I was wrong. I could have sworn it dropped!!! My bad.
It was 50% off in September. Maybe that's what you were thinking of.

Same here. I have 1200 points left and want to pick up 2 Black Ops Map Packs.
Yup, I was wrong. I could have sworn it dropped!!! My bad.
It dropped to 600 once, but I decided to be be a cheap ass and wait till it came down to 400.....it could happen :/

They've gotten better because people keep speaking up and demanding better. As for thinking clearly, I suggest you first read more clearly considering I simply made an observation that MS pricing pales in comparison to rivals - which it does. Don't get mad when I write this, but MS needs to open up their service and loosen their grip on publisher pricing.

I'm hoping for Shank at 600 myself, been thinking of picking that one up.

It is $9.99 on PSN, that is what I was thinking of. I guess I assumed there would be an XBLA price drop as well, but there wasn't.

Anyways, I want to say I bought it the first time it went on sale, for 800 points. I wasn't a CAG back then, but I also think even if I was I still would have gotten it. I really enjoyed it. If it's 600 during the EA sale I'd HIGHLY recommend it.
Didn't Shank drop to 800msp?
It was perma-dropped to $10 on PSN. The Steam version is still $15, so that's kind of an odd situation.

You know what is awesome? Getting sales on XBL content.

You know what sucks? Constant bitching about sales on XBL content.

You know who cares that you don't like the current sale? No one.

Skip over the bitching? Just a suggestion.

You know what's funny? bitching about the bitching.
You know what really grinds my gears? ^
You know what's even less productive than bitching? ^

....just kidding, I really don't care about either thing. but mostly I just don't see why it's an issue that people are discussing the deals in the thread of those deals. its no different than someone posting a thread for a specific deal and everyone going in and saying "this deal sucks, nothing to see here, etc" (which has happened a lot of times).
