I really wish they'd put the Borderlands DLC on sale for PS3. It seems like it's half-off on XBox every other week, and I don't recall it ever being discounted on PSN.

I've noticed this also. They have a bundle deal but it's a pretty bad deal since they are giving you the moxie level for free.
So the best two are claptrap and the armory? What's the deal with this zombie island? I am weary of a zone that isn't part of the story and adds.....zombies?
I'd recommend Claptrap and Secret Knoxx as the "must buy" if you like Borderlands. Dr Ned is a "get it if you want more" and Moxxi "you must be a an achievement whore or masochist, because this isn't fun or beneficial"

Dr Ned could be part of the "story", but it's more of a Halloween themed wacky side story. It adds Zombies, some bats, Frankenstein-types, one Jack-O-Lantern type enemy, werewolves, and pokes a bit of fun at Scooby-Doo. Take a look at the Quick Look to get a feel for what is going on. (It also has a Claptrap that can be saved to increase your backpack space).
Which one are you talking about that isn't a single level? I haven't even played borderlands, it's in my backlog. Which peice of dlc builds on the story?
None of them are a single level and all of them (except Mad Moxxi) build on the story.

Edit: I completely agree with ReddJoey.

Dr.Ned's is my personal favorite out of them all.
I'm going to need more points... lots and lots of more points...

The main question I'm asking myself now is do I just get undead nightmare for the awesome price of $5 or get it all for $12.50.
I got all three and regret it. I would have had just as much fun with the multiplayer without online poker (which I've only played once), Stronghold (which I've only played once), extra characters, or the explosive rifle (which you have to get a high score in a bandit raid to even GET, and you only get three shots. Although you CAN buy it in single player). I do kinda like the tomahawk, but $10 for a tomahawk?

I should have just gotten Undead Nightmare, which is awesome.

damn....I'm sorely tempted at getting RDR at Best But for $40 using my $65 gc, and then buying 800 MSP (have 400 already) to get the Undead Nightmare pack for 1000 points

butttttt.... Dead Space 2 is calling my name :/

decisions, decisions

Gee. I might have to go ahead and buy Minerva's Den now even though I don't have Bioshock 2. I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

it was a solid DLC! good story to it
Are the avatar jerseys on sale only the Celtics and Lakers?

Nope, although there are codes for the Jordan jersey floating around

unfortunately no. kinda dumb as only 2 out of 32 nba teams seems like a pretty limited selection to put on sale. why not put every team on sale?

Zombie Island blends in with the story fine. It's the only DLC that I've played so far but it's definitely worth $5. The zombies don't feel tacked on at all and the extra backpack slots are nice. I was even able to pick up 2 Eridian weapons in my playthrough.

I'd probably order them as 1) Dr. Ned, 2) Knoxx, 3) Claptrap ... since Dr. Ned was such a cool, funny, and unexpected side-story. Like when your favorite show does a 1-off "special" holiday/musical-themed episode that breaks the norms, and stirs up all the backstory, Dr. Ned was just plain weird, sinister, and hilarious. But definitely get all 3 of the episodic games at 400pts if you can swing the $15 in points. Heck, GOTY purchasers are paying roughly $7.50 for each (since GOTY came out at $60 while the core game was $30), so you're doing better on a per-game basis here than if you bought the game new. Even if you think you'll pick it up for "used", buying now gives you the opportunity to skip the GOTY, and pick up the core game for very cheap without losing any of the DLC.

Dr. Ned is an absolute steal for 400 points. I'm playing through it right now on PC and loving every minute of it.

Anyone who likes the combat in Borderlands should pick up Moxie for this price

Crank the difficulty to 11 and have fun blowing away wave after wave of bad guys

Plus you get a nifty chest that will help you keep track of all the extra special loot you pick up along the way.

It's the Dragon's Age Warden's Keep for Borderlands

Oh yeah ... as much as you might hate Moxie, buying it gives you a cross-character bank where you can store all the best stuff you find, and save them for your lower alts.

Is that a good deal on the GTA add on's? I have yet to play those. Seems like a good price considering the standalone disc costs 27.99 but you can probably get it on sale for 19.99

Well, I haven't picked up either DLC pack for GTAIV, and I decided to hold off on these with the thought that since they are available on disc, I'll be able to get them even cheaper at some point (got plenty in my backlog to keep me busy anyway). I guess it just depends if you want them right now or not. Probably not a bad deal for $15, but I can wait until Episodes from Liberty City is obtainable for $10.

Episodes from LC, or the GTA4 complete edition will no doubt go on sale or drop in price at some point to beat this DLC deal. Only reason I'm buying TLaD as DLC is because I already own TBoGT as DLC, and cannot sell or trade that, therefore making the Episodes disc or the complete GTA4 a bad purchasing idea for me.

Quick question before I drop the points...

Can someone please confirm that Minerva's Den and Protector Trials for BS2 are Single player?

Thats what I am understanding from the descriptions but I want to be sure before I buy them.

The other two look like multi-player only (so I am not interested).

I got your confirmation righttttttt here!

You make a good point. I'm gonna hold off on buying it since I have wayy to much of a backlog as it is.

They are both single-player but only Minerva's Den has any sort of a story (and a pretty good one too). Protector Trials is only for those who enjoyed protecting little sisters during the gameplay, as this is all you do for stage after stage after stage. To me personally, this was the worst element of the game and I was surprised to see it highlighted in the DLC.
I'm a bit upset that we don't get any more updates since there are still a few non-BC Xbox games worth playing, though if they take the route that Sony seems to be taking with HD remakes of older titles I won't mind too much. What does get me, though, is that with a pretty hefty catalog of BC titles they still won't digitize them and put them up on Games On Demand. It may be pricier than eBay, Goozex, or similar places but having them available at all on the digital marketplace would be a good way to preserve them should discs become harder to find.

------------

Too many things for me on the sale even though I picked up a few before on previous sales. Already got Max Payne and Axel & pixel this morning. I have to get more points later in the week for Minerva's Den, both Mafia 2 packs, and the Midnight Club LA pack. If there's still a community out there playing Bioshock 2 multiplayer, I might cave in to those add-ons as well.
What about "Call Of Cthulu"? That would actually be cheaper as a download. I'm sure there are a few others that would be more expensive, looking for the disc.

2K games sale with all the DLC for Borderlands and Bioshock 2 on sale, the two game I'm playing right now? Matto is happy!

As for the GTA IV content, def worth the $15 price tag. (Funny enough it's what I got the disc version for a month ago at Target on clearance) If you're into the story of GTA IV than lost and the Damned is the better of the two. If you thought GTA IV was a little boring and want more action than Ballad of Gay Tony is the better choice. Both are good, the achievements in LatD are super easy, and for the most part it blends well into the original game's story. Sorry for the shameless self advertising, but I just put up a more in-depth review of GTAIV DLC on my blog for anyone interested.

Has anyone heard any rumblings of the last 2 Borderlands DLC packs coming on a disc ever? I was tempted to get the GOTY, but passed since they are not on disc.
Has anyone heard any rumblings of the last 2 Borderlands DLC packs coming on a disc ever? I was tempted to get the GOTY, but passed since they are not on disc.
From this point out I think seeing DLC on disc will be rare. We all know the reasons so I wont go into detail. Having said that I wish the 2nd set of DLC for borderlands was on disc as well.
Like others have mentioned target is your friend. Ive gotten Episodes from liberty city for $14 and The 1st set of borderlands dlc on disc for $4.

Oh and so far only 1 person has chimed in saying the Undead collection is not worth it. I really dont see the point of Legends and Killers, aside from a Tomahawk? But I dont want to spend 800 msp for Liars & Cheats and Undead Nightmare when I can get all three for 1000. Got a week to decide right?
Naturally getting Minervas den, maybe protectors trials for Bioshock 2. Did not know the level cap got raised again for borderlands on Claptrap. Was just gonna get Knoxx for the level increase. Glad I didnt go nuts with what seemed like worthless DLC for Dragons age, since Awakenings can be gotten on disc for the same price as the sale.

There's 6 total addons? Are the last 2 not out yet? The GOTY has Noxx, Zombie Island, Claptrap and Underdome so I'm assuming there's more? I'm one arena away from 100%ing this thing and you're telling me there's MORE content? Good God make it stop!

No, Zombie Island and Underdome were released on a disc. The 2nd two,Knoxx and Claptrap, are only available either on XBL marketplace/PSN store or as codes in the GOTY. I dont think anymore are planned. Meaning that only 4 are current with 2 on disc and the other 2 not.

whew. so whatever i got in the GOTY edition was all the DLCs for Borderlands.

now the problem will be getting XP for Bioshock 2 :(

The Claptrap DLC does not include a level cap increase. The +8 level increase came in a patch that was independent of any DLC and applies to all players.

Thanks for that, I swear RedJoey posted a level increase of +8 for claptrap on 1 of his posts. Knowing that, I will skip claptrap as of now; since I know it will go on sale again soon enough. Saves me another couple hundreds of points for whatever comes next. ;)

I see there was a misunderstanding on my part. I thought they were saying the GOTY did not include all the DLC. None of it is on the disc sadly and must be downloaded. I had forgotten they released some (surprised it wasn't all) on a seperate disc.

I did. I thought the level cap required the DLC, but wasn't available until it was patched in later. I will go back and strikethrough my error.
Is there any word on a "where's Waldo" game? I saw a girl with achievements for it along with Osmos..another unreleased game.
Here's Waldo

and

Osmos

For the link lazy, they are GfW titles
Yeah I know, but any word of when they'll come to xbla? I'm on a Mac and don't care for gaming on a computer anymore.
Tomorrow? Never? Sometime in between? I'm betting on never for Where's Waldo and maybe sometime for Osmos, who knows.
So after a week with Plants vs zombies I'm not seeing all the hype. I mean it's a fun game but I don't see why people have it for multiple platforms.
I played it on PC when it was first released and didn't care for it. However, I had a lot of fun playing it co-op with my girlfriend, even if that did make it way to easy. The difficulty doesn't change, but you have two people managing things.
So after a week with Plants vs zombies I'm not seeing all the hype. I mean it's a fun game but I don't see why people have it for multiple platforms.
This is pretty much the PERFECT wife/girlfriend game. My wife 100%ed it on every system it has come out on (except iPad, because we don't have one). I think it's fun but doesn't draw me in as much as it did her, but again...difference in game preferences. :)

Bought Claptrap for BL (the last DLC I was missing) as well as Undead Nightmare, since I bought RDR simply to play Undead Nightmare.
Not gonna get the pack because I don't like RDR's multiplayer, and both packs seem to be multiplayer only. Still great deals though. On the fence about Minerva's Den; I rented BS2 and really liked it but I don't have it anymore. I heard CRAZY good things about MD though...is it worth getting and then renting BS2 again to play?

Sorry, but I haven't seen anything for it other than GfW news.

January 26th: Breach – 1200 Microsoft Points GOLD MEMBERS ONLY - Metacritic
Max Payne 1 or 2?
I really enjoyed the 2nd one back in the day. I played it on the PC and had a lot of fun with it. I tried a few seconds of the first one in class one day, someone had installed it on the school computer I was assigned to...but the teacher was CRAZY and literally took the mouse from my hand and proceeded to delete the game files instead of uninstalling. :(
