Don't be. I'm experiencing some buyer's remorse on that one.
Should've waited til it dropped to 400 - that'd be a more reasonable price.

Yeah, I tried the Limbo demo, and decided I might get it if it's ever 400, but for more than that...I guess it just wasn't my sort of game. LOVED the visual style of it, but I didn't like that the particular style of trial and error gameplay used seems almost designed to continually make the player feel dumb (as opposed to, say, a game like Portal 2, which continually makes me feel smart every time I figure out a solution).

I dunno, there were definitely some times when I felt...I don't know, proud I guess? for figuring things out in Limbo. I had a ton of fun with it, and I paid full price.

Same here. (but I do think a fairer full price should have been 800 points.)

As for the demo... Amazing but misleading too. The game changes at some point and its never as much fun (or memorable) as the early levels.

Even though it's pretty much spelled out, I felt happy as hell when you got to rip that spiders leg and push it into those spikes.
Overall I think I got my money's worth from that sale so far with Castle Crashers, Limbo, and Shadow Complex.

picked up final fight since i cannot find my original snes copy, thanks op.

i really want mega man 10, but i think i would rather get it on the ps3, is there any reason to pick this up for the 360 over the ps3 other than price?

Ugh. I was still thinking I'd go for the game at 400 or lower, but if the earlier levels are the better ones, than I may just have to wait for it to accidentally get put up for free on a Xbox Live Taiwan or a free gamefly rental of the compilation disc. The only thing I had been sort of holding on to with that game was that maybe it got better...

Unless you have the new silver controller. Then the dpad is acceptable. The PS3 one is still better but at least the silver one is actually usable as a dpad. I played the demo of Mega Man 10 to see if it would play ok or I would have to wait and get it on PS3 and it's fine. I was super gung-ho about the silver controller being great until I tried to play Ultimate MK3 with it. Unplayable. But I imagine that might be an exception since everything else I've played with the new dpad has worked out great.

I'm looking at the Your Fitness DLC for next week.

It would seem the Bollywood DLC isn't any sort of savings at all.

The Bollywood/New Year, New You DLC bundle is 560 points.

Bollywood + New Year, New You is going to be 600 points for the two of them.

The other DLC, down to 160 by itself, will mean that the two individually are a better deal points-wise by 80 points.

Just a heads up for those of you planning on picking up the Defiant Map Pack to take advantage of the rebate, found out this information today directly from Xbox Live rewards:

In regards to the Gamer IQ special offers for the Defiant Map Pack,
please note that these rewards will not be displayed on your rewards
account. You will be emailed a code 8-10 weeks after the end of the
promotion.

I love my 360 but I can't recommend that someone try to play a Mega Man game with anything other than a Nintendo or Sony controller.

Mega Man is honestly fine with any d-pad since you really don't need to use the diagonals much. Now something like Contra and Super Contra? Those things are unplayable with the standard d-pad because of how crouching works. I've had soooo many deaths because crouch shooting somehow translated into move forward.

Sega Sale

Quoted directly from Major's Blog. I assume the OP has it listed this way as well.

EDIT: OP's description:

*crosses fingers for Virtual On*

So pissed I missed the Portal: Still Alive sale for 600 last week. Really want to play that one, but looks like I'll have to wait until the next time it goes on sale.
Looks like Quake Arena had a permanent drop to 800 points.

It's still a lot of fun 12 years after it came out.
Is the online alive for it? I really want to pick it up, but I don't want to get bored with it quickly

Sega Europe has posted the sale going on tomorrow.

Hmm, I just got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, plus OutRun, Afterburner, & the Sonic games. Really, the only game I DON'T have on that list is Happy Tree Friends (no interest) and Virtual On (I don't know, I wanted to like it, but the controls felt meh).
Is the online alive for it? I really want to pick it up, but I don't want to get bored with it quickly
Eh, last weekend I was able to find a game with about 6 people in it, so it's not super active.

I'm actually kind of psyched to see Happy Tree Friends on sale. I remember playing the demo and thinking I would buy it at $5, but not $10.

Maybe I'll pick up some of the old Genesis games for cheevos, even though I have them on the awesome disc.

You might want to look into picking up the Orange Box disc instead... you can usually find it used for $10-12 now and it comes with Portal plus Half-Life 2/Ep1/Ep2 and TeamFortress 2. So a little more expensive than the 600pts but you get a bunch of good-to-great games along with it.

can anyone confirm if they "fixed" the co op part of gunstar heroes, where when you died you had to wait for the other player to die in order to come back. i saw a blurb about it being fixed for PS3, but couldnt find any 360 info. can anyone confirm that they have or have not fixed this?

Oh please let these come true! I don't ever spend more than 600 points on games anymore BUT I've been waiting years for Virtual On to go on sale again (missed the first and only sale for 800 points sale back in March of last year and have been kicking myself ever since) and 800 points is good enough for me! :D

Also probably going to snag a bunch of classics and maybe Happy Tree Friends (going to download the demo now).

I saw last night on Major's blog that Mortal Kombat avatar items are coming to XBLA tomorrow. I hope the one they included with the Kollector's Edition doesn't show up in the marketplace since my order is already shipped : /

Do people still play TF2? Considered the Orange box route but was not sure about the other games.
Even though the Genesis collection is cheap, I'll probably pick up some of those classics for the achievements/to have them on my HDD.
I know with PS3 they are seperate trophies. I can only assume the same for 360?

Cmon Sega, I really want your Sonic 4, but we both know it's not worth that much. Also, you think they'd lower the price of Outrun even lower if their license is over soon, just to get any extra sales.
Do people still play TF2? Considered the Orange box route but was not sure about the other games.
Not sure about TF2, to be honest... that's the game on the disc I've played the least by far and I haven't played it in a while. Personally I think HL2 and Portal alone are worth the price of admission, especially if you haven't played HL2 before and have some interest in it.
Do people still play TF2? Considered the Orange box route but was not sure about the other games.
TF2 on 360 is an unpatched mess. They basically dropped support for it a few months after it came out. You'll see very few of the new features you see in the PC release.
can someone please convince me to pick up ilomilo?
Did you buy Raskulls and Keflings during the last sale? Might as well make it a hat trick.

Do you like puzzle games? I've heard its a good one.

Have you tried the demo?

I haven't played the demo yet but I will before I buy it. Since I got Raskulls and Keflings during the last sale I'll probably bite anyway to complete the trio. I love good cross-game promotions. Very similar to the Pocket God/Doodle Jump promo. Too bad I already owned both!
Meh. Charging 400 points for re-hashed Genesis games is damn near criminal. They should have been closer to 160-240 to begin with.

But what really pisses me off is the fact that they couldn't even give us the enhanced Sega Ages remakes of Golden Axe or Phantasy Star. :bomb:

Golden Axe remake: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/segaages/segaages2.htm

Phantasy Star 2 remake: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/segaages/segaages5.htm
The Goldenaxe remake is on Sega Classics Collection for ps2 and it's really, really bad. I agree about Phantasy Star II though, really upset when it didn't come out in the US.

Hmm going to check out Section 8: Prejudice since it comes out this week. Section 8 was a piece of crap retail release wise, being an arcade title is more like it.

i actually did pick up raskulls and keflings during the last sale and i liked the ilomilo demo but i have been spending a lot of points lately so i was just on the fence about it. i guess ill go ahead and finish off the set, i just needed one last push. thanks.

I'm considering Streets of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast and Comix Zone. I would just go with the Genesis Collection but I hate playing stuff off the disc and hearing my 360 buzz like a blender, and I already have some of those games via XBLA.

Other than that, I'm definitely in for Peggle Nights and can't wait for the Mars FX2 machine to release on Wednesday. Now to find a cheap 1600 MSP card/code...

So in for Peggle Nights as well.

I'm constantly on the look out for cheap points now. I just bought 8k for $77 from newegg this weekend. Hopefully they will be in before I use my last 6k I have now. If I buy all the Sega stuff I'm interested in I'm looking at ~3100 points gone for the week and that's not counting the Spring Sale I totally forgot about until you mentioned Peggle Nights. Looks like another expensive week!

So once again Sonic 4 is going on sale for 800 points. Who hasn't already bought this that would be willing to pay that price? C'mon Sega!

Unrelated, can someone give me a run down on Peggle Nights, and possibly word in like you are talking to someone who got the game for free about 2 months ago and still hasn't played it...

Maybe Outrun, but leaning Towards Virtual On. I remember playing this at my Aladdin's Castle back in like 99. lol

Anyone that has VO, how is the online? Still a lot of people playing? Any sort of Campaign, or mainly just online madness?

TF2 still has a dedicated playerbase. Games are great. There are some glitches and such as the last patch we got was a little over a year ago. After that VALVE refuses to comment on anything about the game anymore, even though they teased us with DLC update news for the longest time. I prefer to play it over my PC version as its not a RPG like that game is now lol.
