A little dismayed at Radiant Silvergun being 1200 (Ikaruga was 800!) but not enough to not buy it.

Trenched at 1200 is to be expected, as is my reliance on a deal or code drop. ;D

+1

Although not sure I'm going to buy Stacking since I got it free on PS3. Defintely interested in Trenched though. Love mech games!
I probably shouldn't complain since I have such a huge backlog of xbla and dlc titles from these various sales but it's almost become an addiction. I never buy anything unless it's on sale anymore so even though my backlog is huge it's addicting to lookout for the stuff I know I'll want.
I turned addicted myself..... The other downside is we make the dlc sales look bigger which companies will see this and decide to dwindle more content on a retail game and add dlc content to unlock later on the disc. They been slowly doing this for awhile now but it has been getting really bad now. I love dlc but dang there is a limit.

I think it's because 1 - Radiant Silvergun is (arguably) a better game, and 2 - Radiant Silvergun on disc is super rare and expensive, so they can charge more for it.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to bad when they're asking $15 for an enhanced version of a game that generally goes for $150+ used. This will be the first XBLA game that I'd be willing to pay the full $15 for.

Plus you gotta remember you're getting both the arcade AND Saturn version of Radiant Silvergun.

$15 is a deal compared to eBay prices & such.
Was RSG THAT good? Ikaruga was one of the most patently overrated games I've ever played.
I wouldn't use Ikaruga as a point of reference as it's more of a hybrid of puzzle game and a shmup, where as RS is a pure shmup. If you dislike the shmup genre, I wouldn't expect another shmup, even if its one of the best in the field, to change your mind.
Is Stacking any good? :whistle2:#
I had fun playing the demo. A lot of it seems to be fetch quests and finding the right person type stuff mixed in with the puzzles.
I'd wait for it to go on sale or drop in price a bit, though.
wow...Daggerdale is really bad and buggy. the demo makes you not want to buy it.
I always have high hopes for D&D based games...guess I'll just save up another 400pts and get Torchlight instead, since I already know that game kicks butt :)

dood...Daggerdale is really bad, I worked for WotC long ago so I have a soft spot for wotc and D&D titles, but I can't play this game. In the demo alone there's already game freezing glitches where the camera will freeze in one spot but you can see yourself on the mini map running around. the feats and abilities aren't all that true to the tabletop 4th edition game either.

Granted it's an XBLA title but, holy cow...D&D Heroes for xbox is superior to this game in everyway. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't.

i bought it the day it came out, very fun and very interesting gameplay. I had a blast with it!

Radiant Silvergun is so good that I'm still pissed that Treasure had the audacity to try and pawn Ikaruga off as "Project RS-2".

Radiant Silvergun is so good that I made a custom arcade stick in anticipation of the XBLA release.

Radiant Silvergun is so good that I would GLADLY spend 2400MSP if that was the asking price.
terrible idea to not buy the dlc on sale and wait for a further sale? so you're saying i should just buy it now?
No, I'm saying it's a terrible idea to buy the Zeta dlc at all because it is endless, boring dlc. The problem is that vats just gets so boring with the same enemies over and over. Unless you love achievements, I'd wait for a bigger discount if you want it that much. If you really, really loved the combat of Fallout 3 and don't mind fighting the same enemy over and over again, then you could like this.

I agree, it's very tedious/boring.
IMO point lookout is the only Fallout 3 dlc worth playing. The other dlcs felt like they detracted from the overall fallout experience/epicness.
Broken steel wasn't very good either, but it increased the level cap.

What a shame about Daggerdale. What is Atari doing? They're creating a reputation of publishing bad games on XBLA. Ghostbusters, Yar's Revenge, Star Raiders, and Daggerdale have come out in the last couple of months and all been pretty bad. Every one has felt half-realized and sloppily done. Don't bother getting excited about any game they announce going forward, because it won't turn out well.

I play a lot of shumps and enjoy the good ones. I just used it as a point of reference for Treasure.

Hmm, I guess then if Ikaruga was your basis then you'd subtract the color mechanic; make the levels shorter; reduce the focus on patterns a bit, make the combo system more forgiving; add a lot more bosses, access to six(?) weapons at once including a sword-based mechanic, cut scenes, and an RPG mechanic and there you'd have RS.

Since this is a state of limbo for XBLA titles, I recommend everyone try out Clash of Heroes, the new XBLA title that came out a few weeks ago, it's really good. Also, I just got Outland, I hope it is worth the 800 pts.

That is exactly what I have been thinking : /

Clash of Heroes is great. I'm having a ton of fun with it, much more than I anticpated. It came out on the DS awhile ago and people loved it there, but I didn't think it was my kind of game. I was wrong. It's supposedly very long. I'm only about 7 hours in but I hear it's 20+, which makes sense based on how much of the map I've seen.

Outland is also very good. I'm shocked they released it at 800 and not 1200. It's polished, there's plenty to do, and it's fun. I hope it sells well and we get more games of that quality at $10 on the service.
Looks pretty cool to me, I'm glad they're giving us both options though.
I'm with you, I don't think retro mode is going to translate to the big screen so well.

I think what I'll do is give Neo Cartoon a try for a couple of missions, then see if I like it. Most likely, I might beat the original game (Hero 30 from PSP version is included) with the new graphics, then play the 60+ new ones w/ the original.

Hopefully, the pixel graphics won't look too...well, pixelated.

You know what I'm excited about? Now that Radiant Silvergun is reaching the masses, everyone will finally get to enjoy the amazing soundtrack by Hitoshi Sakimoto. It sounds almost exactly like his legendary work from Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.

Tell me this couldn't have come from FF Tactics:

Wow, thanks for posting that. I wasn't even aware that Sakimoto did the music for this. Just became an instant buy.
Would it kill you to post that in the actual Half Minute Hero thread? *goes to post*
I apologize. I only check Video Game Deals, Contests & Free Stuff, and Deal/Shopping Discussions & Bragging Rights, so I wasn't aware there was a thread for the game. However, I'll post any new info I find in the thread next time I find info.

I wonder if there'll be a big sale for the week of E3. Was there one in past years?
So anyone think there will be some quickie sales this holiday weekend?
Given that it's such a big outdoor or small travel weekend, I'd say probably not.

Go out and enjoy your local fair! Or, there's always GameStop's PC sale.

Is the Oblivion DLC included in the GOTY edition?

Is it worth it?

Didn't see it in the "What's the DLC all about?" post. (Yes, I read it, and it's so helpful, reddjoey)

GOTY version has Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, that's it
If you want anything extra get the DLC on sale

Actually I hadn't noticed that I didn't save the changes to it, so it's a a legitimate question. Fixing that now

It's time's like this I wish I didn't buy Inertia last week. 1 hour game versus horse armor, golden horse armor always wins.

On another note, has anyone heard anything about Dust Elysian Tail release date? The website hasn't had an update in a while.

It's also worth noting that on June 28th, Bethesda is releasing a 5th Year Anniv. edition, which includes all the stuff from the GotY but has the CE stuff at least, and a $10 coupon towards Skyrim IF YOU BUY THE GUIDE, for the same price as the GotY currently.

The coupon is for Skyrim PLUS the strategy guide, unfortunately. So without buying the $30 guide, you won't get $10 off. Screw. That.

Did some Googling earlier and Giant Bomb says "2011," and the website for the game was down due to bandwidth overages. Not sure beyond that, sorry.

Yar's Revenge had some issues with story/the presentation of the narrative, but the game was actually fun and very difficult to play. Star Raiders was repetetive and could of been better, that's for sure. They did also just release The Witcher 2 (for PC so far) which is getting a pretty warm response.

Anyway, I join many of you in almost welcoming this chance to build up some points and hit the backlog a bit. Been a crazy week for me, I've play about 2 hours of games so far and 1hour and 45 minutes of it were indie games for review and about 15 minutes of Dead Space 2... sigh....

Is the horse armor worth picking up for Oblivion? I'm still really early in the game, so I would be able to use it a lot on my first playthrough.
