Seriously? Out of all those games they put Alan Wake and another Castlevania game on sale? I was expecting Costume Quest, Limbo or The Dishwasher.

Very disappointing..
I kinda think that Costume Quest may be on sale by the end of day. It's in-between Alan Wake and Castlevania on their website, so maybe it just hasn't had a price reduction yet. Hopefully, at least lol

Yeah, I noticed that also. I really hope it does. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: YES! Costume Quest = 600mp!

Costume Quest is showing up as 600 points to me on the Shocktober page above.. what's the price normally?

Would also be interesting if they drop the price for RE4 already too. Seems doubtful, but it's on the page.. can only hope.

Alan Wake is "on sale" for $22.49? lol, again, they're gonna have to try a lot harder when putting Games On-Demand titles on sale, their sale prices thus far have been a fucking joke.

Costume Quest is totally worth it at 600msp, I felt it was a little overpriced at 1200, but 600 is perfect, and this is the perfect time to get it too :) it has a good halloween feel to it.

would be nice to see RE4 get a $5 reduction or something, I've been holding off on it only cus I've already played it on several consoles, several different times. but I'd be in if it was discounted a little.
So whatever happened to Kinect Sparkler being 80 MSP?
It was on the dash Sunday morning and then it looks like it was replaced by kinect air band. Even had the two carnival game add ons for sale, but it seems only one is on sale. Stupid Microsoft....

Pitiful week 2 sales for Shocktober. Those items have already been on sale, same with the DotW. Thanks for not disappointing MS. It's not like it woulda been cool to put Costume Quest dlc on sale or all the L4D dlc....w/e
Is it finally time to get castlevania SotN?
It was time years ago! Hurry up and buy it already.
Would have been awesome if FE4 was on sale already.
Oh man, Fear Effect 4 is out? I haven't ever even played the first game, or any in the series for that matter. In all seriousness, I still have trouble with some acronyms for some games, at least it is not like SC for Soul Calibur, Starcraft, Star Control, Super C, Splinter Cell, etc. (there are probably more but those are off the top of my head) ... at this time of my posting it is too early for me to know FE4, not criticizing your use of it, just hate my old forgetful mind.

As for the Shocktober deals, Costume Quest is ideal at this time ... PSN offered it for Plus members this month. Also Plus got $10 discounts on the two "HD" upscans of Resident Evil a few weeks ago. I hope MS follows suit for Shocktober.

I think he meant RE4 as in Resident Evil 4. The R is right next to the F key. Just a guess though.
They weren't "pre-built," they were added when the DLC came out. That is how DLC based achievements work for every game on the 360. If you 100% a game and then later on a DLC is released with achievements, well...you no longer have a 100% completed game.
Well,that kinda sucks.
I never noticed that before.
Looks like I may want to revisit some old games.
Thanks for the info!

That's cool that they have a sale on Costume Quest, but I already own that game. I was really hoping for a price drop of the Grubbins on Ice. I really liked Costume Quest and I've been wanting to get the DLC, but I've holding out for a sale.

Just a quick note for anyone looking to get the Dead Rising 2 arcade games.. they're not grouped together alphabetically on the marketplace because of the way they were named for whatever reason. Case Zero is "DR2: Case Zero" while Case West is "Dead Rising 2: Case West".

Also, I seem to be having trouble downloading from the marketplace at the moment.. getting errors trying to download some trials. Anyone else?

Edit: Nevermind, working now.

Its 400 MSP. Microsft RARELY puts 400 MSP DLC on sale to 200 MSP or whatever price you were hoping for. Its not like the dlc is 800 MSP or 560 MSP. $5 is nothing. Espically if you paid 10 or 15 dollars for the game itself.

Right now there's a whole bunch of stuff on sale that was originally 400 points are less. For example DR2: CASE ZERO, Kinect Sports Calorie Challenge Pack, Monkey Dancin' Pack, etc. So, well, not so sure you're right about that. ;)

Alan Wake is great, but with codes for the GoD version being available for $5-$10 this is not the way to get it.

I was really hoping Bioshock 2 would be 25% off. The Shocktober sale has been disappointing for me. I haven't bought a thing.

Yeah, I guess it's not that much, but I see sales on DLC all the time. I'm just a cheap ass gamer. :p

I was thinking that they might lower their price for the Shocktober Sale, but I guess not. I just hate buying stuff and then finding out its on sale shortly after buying it. :)
Is it finally time to get castlevania SotN?
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!

I actually got it on the last sale and played it for the first time. It's amazing.

Ok 1 is an arcade game, and the rest have been on sale before and if not its only on sale for the kinect anniversary. You would have a better shot a GOW 3 season pass going on sale then the costume quest one. As for code trader I also hate buying something and then finding out it goes on sale. If plants vs zombies is a dotw soon, im going to erupt with fury.

I will be picking up costume quest when I get home. I'm excited to play this one after playing the demo a year ago!

Hmm, Symphony of the Night for only $5. I might as well get it since it's 1/2 off, despite getting Daytona USA tomorrow & Sonic Generations next week. Plus it'll help go towards the Xbox Rewards.
Lame. Bring on black friday sales please.
Agreed. Although I fear they will just be more repeats of previous sales, like the last 5-6 weeks of the DotWs have been. It sucks because I have all these points I got for my b-day, but they've only been putting the same shit on sale. On the bright side, I guess I wont need to buy anymore points for a while.
You'd think they'd at least put some Black Ops DLC on sale. A year ago, the 1st MW2 pack had (probably) been on sale twice by now.

lame-tober may not sound as good as shock-tober but I believe it is a more appropriate name for this sale. At least I won't have to buy any MSPs anytime soon.
Sucktober Sale and Deals of the Weak. ;)
nice one. good for those who dont follow the sales, but i guess our expectations were too high. MS fluctuates with killer sales (rare) to the same ol shit every week. whats disappointing was the potential..

Team Meat said that Super Meat Boy will be on sale sometime in November. Also they are adding more levels via Teh Internet.
Ok, guys I am about 3 posts away from putting the Meat Boy news as blinking text in the OP.
Do it.

Grubbins is more likely to be part of a winter/christmas themed sale I would think.

The rewards offer is for buying points, not spending them.

Yeah, you'd think. But then for Halloween, doesn't Dead Space 2 dlc, Limbo, Bloodrayne, Left 4 Dead dlc, etc sounds like it'd be a sure bet to go on sale......yeah no. Just repeats(even tho Limbo and L4D would be repeats as well so whatevers)
Sucktober Sale and Deals of the Weak. ;)
That is so much better than my "lame-tober". Good job. :applause:
That is so much better than my "lame-tober". Good job. :applause:
I think lame-tober and suck-tober are both great ways to describe these sales. Not that they are bad games on sale, just that they are REPEATED sales.
The rewards offer is for buying points, not spending them.
I know. I only buy points right before buying a game. So I'll buy 800 MSP tomorrow before buying Daytona USA.
yeah, it's not all bad, but i was hoping for better. At least we get a free game tomorrow. :)
what is this speak of a free game!!!!
what is this speak of a free game!!!!
10/26 - 11/1 - Pinball FX2

DLC:
-Paranomal Table - FREE - 100% off (after 11/1 it will be 240 Microsoft Points)

Just picked up Case West, going to pick up some MSP for Costume Quest, Castlevania and Case Zero. Shocktober could have been better, but I'm happy with Costume Quest, and both Castlevanias getting a sale, even if I didn't buy Harmony of Despair last week.
