Paramount Digital Entertainment has just announced a new Xbox Live Arcade game based on The Warriors, planned for release this summer. The brawler is part of a 30th anniversary celebration that will include a new comic book series and "other products and entertainment". The new game will feature, of course, the movie's trademark gangs, fighting each other.

However, don't expect a sequel to the acclaimed 2005 Warriors game by Rockstar -- this game is being made by developer CTXM and not Rockstar Games.

Goddamn! I Rather they just re-release the original Rockstar game with XBox Live capabilities. This one doesn't look bad, but how can it compare to wheel chair races, tossing homeless people off of a building and capture the flag except with a chick?

This reminds me that I need to pick up another copy of The Warriors since I never got to beat it before selling it the first time I owned it.

The original was an awesome game. I will get this no matter what though. I love The Warriors and I love Beat 'em up games and there's far too few of them out there
to be picky.

Cool, I have not been much of a fighting game person(well newer fighting games) but this reminds me of like a zombie revenge/dynamite cop type of game

When I saw this I thought it was gonna be the original re-released as an XBLA game. :(

I did rebuy the PSP version though, after already beating the PS2 version.
A very brief review:

This game is pretty stinky.
There still is no reviews or anything of the game. Plus this thread is dead. It must be pretty bad. I tired the demo, and it seemed basic of course, but since there isn't beat-em-up style games like this made anymore more than likely I'll buy it. :)

I Could only stomach 2 minutes of the demo before realizing how crappy and boring it was. God, it makes me miss the Rockstar version of it so much more.

Loved the movie, and the xbox version, but this looks like total junk. Like I've said before, why the hell do game developers not understand that the pseudo-sidescroller, linear experience is boring, been-had, and un-enjoyable? These are solely my opinions, and if you feel the need to flame this, go right ahead, but this game is gonna be total junk, I.E. Transformers - no offense prime. I hope no one makes the regrettable decision to purchase this glorified piece of crap in a plastic case.

What a sucky demo. Seriously, nearly 500 MB and you can't even sample "Can you count, Suckas?". I'd have paid 800 for a BC version of the Rockstar game, but certainly not THAT.

Oh, I'll always want more sidescrolling brawlers on XBLA. But not like this one!

- Animation is really.... ech.
- Hit effect and hitstun are sad.
- Nice try, but movelist is still pretty blah.
- No sense of rhythm to moves. Things just kinda happen without satisfaction.
- Under a red light, everyone looks the same. Lacks personality.
- 3D... it felt so floaty and awkward.

Streets of Fury under Community Games is a much more competent, enjoyable effort than this game! after playing Dungeon Fighter Online on PC recently, this seems so poor in quality...

It really is a game that feels so devoid of fun, that my brother and I wondered "did anyone PLAY this game before releasing it? How did playtesters ever say they enjoyed this?!"
"CAN YOU DIG IT!" Nope, not at all. Cinematic art was kinda cool, though.
Demo was shit, I feel for those who bought it.
I don't, 'cause they could've tried the demo.

Shame this turned out the way it did as I fancied a scolling beatem-up.

They should get that Alien Vs Predator arcade game released on XBLA, that would be good times. Thats about the best scrolling fighter I can think of beyond Streets of Rage 2 and Final Fight.

yeah i played the trial and puked. i love the warriors and the R* game and they shit all over this. its sad very sad
