Not bad at all. I'll probably hold out until I can get a Pro or Elite in person instead of mystery shopping.
#Whaaat? Sorry, but Amazon.com is not mystery shopping. I've found Amazon to be one of the best places to buy from this holiday season. Their customer service is spectacular and their product availability kills that of B&Ms (at least in my area around Philly).
Let me give you an example to quell your doubts. I bought a 360 Pro from Amazon last Tues. The price came out to be $300 since I had a $50 GC from my credit card rewards program and there is no tax, so I essentially saved an extra ~$25. I received the console on Thurs. Thanks to M$ shitty QA and hardward, the unit I received was manufactered 11-7-07 and it was defective. I called up M$ and they told me I was SOL. I would have to send the unit back to them and it would take up to four-six weeks to replace it, so it would be better for me to exchange it through Amazon. I called up Amazon, the rep didn't even ask any questions- he told me to look for a brand new unit on my doorstep the next day and to send the defective one back with a pre-paid label within 30 days. Friday rolls around and I receive the 360 at 1pm. The 360 I received on Friday has been up and running perfect all weekend.
Now, on the flipside. Let's say I believe shopping at Amazon is "mystery shopping," I'm like an old man - I
have to buy from "the store." So I go into Circuit City, Best Buy, and Game stop - neither of the places have the 360 - they're all sold out. By luck, I stumble upon the last 360 at TRU. I buy it and take it home to find it's defective (big surprise!). I take it back to TRU and they tell me they have no 360 left and they're not really sure when another shipment is coming in. At this point, I've paid ~$375 and I have a defective 360 that I can either hold for questionable period of time or get my money back and chalk it up to bad luck. Either way I would've wasted my time and possibly thought about giving in to purchasing the unit on Amazon.
So, my doubtful friend, it's best to put a little faith in Amazon.com.
