I stated it already, but please, please, please, please have 16:10 monitor support. So is Major Nelson the only avenue to throw requests of this kind? I even doubt he reads half his emails.
Marketplace content has nothing to do with the fall/spring updates...
oh ok my bad, hmm i would like to see some sort of internet browser added on

There needs to be group/clan tabs on your friends list or have its own section.
They need to support xvid :p
They need to allow chatrooms, the problem is your whole team could be chatting while in a game and would undermine the fact that if your dead you can't talk to your teammates (which you can probably already get arond anyways).
A price drop on xbla old games would be nice
This shit list better be a joke.
ya, or else, AMIRITE!?
And when playing games!

Jesus H. Christ does it piss me off when some fucker friend logs in and I can't even see my fucking a tiny ass spot on my screen for half a minute 5 seconds.
I agree completely.

I want the option to trade XBLA games, or sell them. There's a few i've tried that i end up not playing...would be great to give trade/sell the code to others. I was thinking same thing they use in Forza 2 when gifting cars, accept this time, the person selling/trading includes a price or game they want in return. Once the transaction is complete (other person accepts), the users are sent a message with the code for the game or MS points and the respectice game(s) are deleted.

how about XBL marketplace searchable by alphabet? how about a guide button that doesn't lag ever? how about some fucking price drops on old XBL games?

or would all that make too much sense? :)

The one thing I would really love to see is Custom SOudtrack back in BC Xbox games (that originally supported it). Well that, and a web browser. Sadly, I don't think either will ever be a reality.

The only thing I really want them to fix is the way you're notified about MSN messages. If you don't check the first message someone sends you you're not notified about any subsequent messages that person sends you after. Sometimes their message is so short I don't need to open the messenger window.

hawt... if true.

I only want 3 things:

Full screen DVDs to be shown with black bars on the side, not stretched.

Occasionally everything disappears from my active download list even though nothing has been downloaded, and I have to re-download everything that was on the list. I would like this glitch fixed.

You can migrate you account to a new 360 a few times a year, so you can use your content without connecting to Live. If they implemented this feature, I would buy a 120 GB hard drive.

Press A on the controller or B on the remote and the GUI will show up. There's something for zoom, normal and a few other settings.

As a parent, I just want the ability to specify games that my children can/cannot use. The blanket use of the ratings system is useless. I could care less if my kid plays Texas Hold 'Em (rated T because of gambling) but I'm not about to allow her to play other stuff that would fall under the same rating.

Something I just thought of that I always thought would be cool.

On xbox.com, or even on the 360, I wish they would show how many people are playing a game at that same second you look it up. I know that gamercard site does it but only for people who signed up for that site, and it's not very accurate/updated.

fuckin' cool!

I guess it's useful for savvy parents that know a lot about using the 360, but I can't imagine more than a handful of parents falling into the category of knowing the 360's features and wanting the system to limit kids' time for them.

More shit form the man to keep 8 yr-olds form their dream. To weigh 239394 lbs and eat ice cream all day.

This would be great for pulling pranks on roomates. ;)

Wait till he gets near the end of Mass Effect or Bioshock, then put the timer on 30 min, just enough to get really into the game.

If you're extra awesome, write down the passcode to turn it off and tape it someplace hidden in the girl's doom restroom.

I'm for the parental lock.

I'd like to see larger friends lists, with the ability to add a note so you can tag things like CAG members etc.

I'd like to see the non-clickable ads removed from main blade since I am paying for this after all.

More video formats playable would be nice too.

why don't they program it to tell kids when they shouldn't be playing M rated games because violence is bad and can hurt people?

yes, a lecturing option, for all the retarded parents who think complaining to the government and ESRB is the right way to parent their child.

The lock is a good idea, for the 2 parents that know how to work an XBOX360.
As for what I'd like to see, friggin Groupchat please.
I just want a way to delete games from my gamertag profile. Demos, rentals, zero pointers and such.
Holy crap I totally want this.
I hate seeing tons of games that I just played for 5 minutes before realizing I didnt like, sitting on my "achievements" page.
Its so annoying. I wish we could choose which games to keep records on for achievement points. I am really surprised it hasn't been implemented already.
That and xvid would be nice.

As a side note, do they usually do a BC update during these dashboard updates too? A big list of bc updated games would be nice. It doesn't matter which ones since it just pushes them closer to having 100% bc.
I just received a Xbox Live message from Xbox.com saying "LIVE will be down 4 hours at 5:01 am EST for an update."
i had the same msg sometime this morning but i could of sworn it said sept 10

I'll be sure to try that, for some reason I've never been able to display fullscreen DVDs with bars down the side, only stretched, which is really annoying because I would like to watch fullscreen DVDs on my 360.

Ya i got one this morning as did my brothers account. It says it will be down for about 4 hours on sept. 10th. Is that the fall update?

It just says some maintenance will be done.

Using the media remote: Press "Display", click on "Display Mode" (4th from left), and click it until it displays in "Native" mode. The other options available are "Letterbox" and "Stretch" mode.

Using the controller: Press "B", scroll over to "Advanced", click on "Display Mode" and select "Native" mode.
Xbox Live will be down from 2 AM to 6 AM PST on September 10th. Wonder what that's about.
Must be the update? Or maybe they're putting in something related to Halo or the fall releases. Let the speculation begin ...

I think it would make sense they have to do the update sometime in the fall and most likely want it to be out working to show any new features for people that are finally buying a 360 for Halo 3. Also so the hardcore people don't cry when they have to take live down within the first month of halo 3 being out so it make sense.

keep watching majornelson.com I'm sure he will keep us posted.

I tried that with my Batman Beyond Season 3 DVDs today and it still stretched them in native mode.

I never had that problem with 4:3 stretching, but I've only used for a dvd player though VGA and HDMI. Maybe it's a component issue?

Hold up, Xvid support? So like we could have Divx/Xvid files from a external HD plug it into one of the USB ports and it would work just like some DVD players? Hmm...that would be awesome!!

So...it's definitely fall now (almost end of october). November is borderline winter, so I wonder when we'll be getting this update.
