Hold up, Xvid support? So like we could have Divx/Xvid files from a external HD plug it into one of the USB ports and it would work just like some DVD players? Hmm...that would be awesome!!
Wasn't it done around Halloween last year?
Where's new XBOX BC list ??
Is that a joke what game you looking to play anyways?

3. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
4. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
5. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
6. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

and

7. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

I'm also looking for an update to the BC list, because I'd really like to get my old Xbox out of my living room and retire it to the guest bedroom along with my Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube.

I wish they would announce when the update is gonna be out and what's going to be in it.

They'll probably release it sometime in early December since that's still technically "Fall."
Internet Browser

Would be nice and would be a hit to the PS3 but I don't think it's going to happen. Not going to hold my breath.
if all the update was was just a less laggy interface/guide, that'd be enough for me.
This may be just me imagining things, but after having switched over to the Elite, the Guide has been exceptionally smooth.

seriously, i could careless about a browser, thats what i have a computer for, although it would be a neat feature

i agree, they should fix up the smaller things like laggy guide and friends list

According to the latest 1up podcast, the Fall Update is coming during the first week of December. They also said that all current live members will be allowed to download any 1 XBLA title of their choice. Not so sure that one's going to happen, but their last rumor about a major 360 cancellation turned out to be right.

but their last rumor about a major 360 cancellation turned out to be right.

It hasn't been canceled officially yet. Microsoft, Cryptic, etc.. never responded to it

Also the live update is coming Dec 4th, and the free game was Carcassone this past week, not a choice of game
 read the post you're quoting
 Actually I was asking about the cancelled game. Finally listened to the podcast so I found out about it.

Here's some more info on what to expect on the 12/4 update:

Coming straight out of a Microsoft Japan held press conference are new details about what features will be included in the December 4th Fall Update. All the information is in Japanese (and we forgot our Japanese translator at home), but thanks to Engadget Japan's own Ittousai we've got all the goods. And yes, there's more to the Fall Update than just Xbox Originals and Friends of Friends. Click through to the break to get learnified ...

Among the new Fall Update features is new dashboard navigation (applause!). The 360's "Game" blade is seeing a mini-reworking removing the "Xbox Live Arcade" option and replacing it with "Game Library". Under the new "Game Library" option you'll be able to navigate all your XBLA games, demos and recently played games in "twist" navigation. If you aren't familiar, the twist navigation scheme can be seen on the current Video Marketplace (or in the screenshot above) and is basically horizontal scrolling that breaks down content by genre, categories, etc. And you better get used to the twisting scheme, because it'll be the navigation method of choice, especially in the XBLM.

Speaking of the Marketplace, it too will see a makeover with the top level's options being narrowed down to "Recommended Content", "What's New", "Game Store", and "Video Store". Under those categories, navigation of the XBLM will be laid out in the new twist format accordingly. See, twisting is all the rage!

Finally, two other features will go live when the Fall Update gets released including a new "Personal Profile" section. This new section will be viewable on a person's gamercard and will allow approximately 500-1000 text characters to write a mini-biography, favorite links or anything a person chooses. It's very MySpace-esque and is aimed at going hand-in-hand with the new Friends of Friends feature. And the very last (and possibly most exciting) feature that'll be coming next week is the ability to delete XBLA demos off of your games played list. W00t! We're not sure if it'll be a network wide deletion or if you'll have to select each demo to remove, but it's coming and we know a LOT of gamers wanted to erase those nasty XBLA demos from their games played history.

That's about it for new Fall Update features and if you're the adventurous type, make the jump to either Impress or Famitsu to read about their Fall Update experiences. That is, if you have the ability to read Japanese.

Being able to delete XBLA demos off my games played list would be amazing. I don't get why it shows up in the first place, but whatever, I'll be getting rid of all my XBLA demos ASAP if true.

Deleting games, yes. Personal profile and turning into Myspace? Nah.

Anyways, hopefully they add 16:10 support because I know many people want this. Also, they fix the glitch about making a child account and then turning 18. I would assume this will be fixed in this update because now we have profiles and messenging and lots of stuff that applies to it.

pretty underwheming so far, could be more for the US territory though, because it's the most featured market place.
and while they're doing small category updates, they need to make folder for TV shows and have them arrange in episode order and not randomly. There's no reason that two seasons of a show are interspersed with each other.

16:10 support would be awesome. I would definitely hook my 360 back up to my monitor again.
Deleting demos played. Good.

Everything else? Meh. Color me not impressed.
Bahhhh! Noooo! gawd! (signature)
;)

My number one most wanted feature out of Live is the ability to get season passes to shows, and a discount at that.

I hope that the "What's new?" feature of the marketplace works in a way that if you already clicked it, the content won't show up under "What's new?" the next time you click to see what's new.

I demand group private chat!!
Also, deleting XBLA demos of your gamercard=PURE WIN!
Now I can download all the demos I want without the stupid permanent 0.

Nice that launch day demos will be nuked off that list.

I'd still like to see more manual control over games displayed. Like being able to flag the ones we own (with something as simple as a different background color on the displayed list) so we don't get invites to games we rented for a few days a year ago. And maybe also flag the current games you are playing to encourage invites from others and let people know not to bother sending you cold invites to a game you don't play anymore.

Clan support, bigger friends list, the ability to organize friends, the ability to write small notes about friends, all would vastly help XBL and CAG gaming, really.

ditto plus group private chat. Even if it's only for Gold members. We are PAYING for the service, afterall. If that doesn't get us dedicated servers in Gears and their flagship title Halofuck3, it should get us something (other than allowing us to connect to each others boxes, using our bandwidth and $ as servers). And I'm not talking about matchmaking servers.

This isn't so much related to the Dashboard and I'm sure it takes far more capital on MS' side to set up the infrastructure, but I'd love it if they let you turn your GT into an email address for 1yr+ subscribers. It probably won't be @xbox.com, but a domain like "[email protected]" would be awesome for those who've had a subscription one year or longer.

Or at least limit it to those who pre-pay for a year, so they don't waste it on 1-month subscriptions.

Glad to hear you can delete those XBLA games.

Group Private Chat and a smoother dashboard (no lockups/freezing!) is all I need.

yes it would kill them. we dont need a browser. I did like it on the dreamcast back in the day.. but damn doesn't everyone have a PC now, I would never want use my 360 for the web.

I can just bring my 360 to work play games or browse the net without having to carry anything else. Oh well... doesn't matter, I have my 704 that I'm gonna start using instead of my portable DVD player and if all else there's my iPod Touch.
