XBOX 360 Racing Wheel (Microsoft) $99.99 @ Frys.com
sorry it's not a great bargain to use on ONE GAME.

unless you're still playing PGR3, then the amount of games DOUBLES! Bargain!

Uh, four games work with it:
Forza 2
PGR 3
NFS Carbon
Test Drive Unlimited

I'm sure the new NFS game that was announced recently will work with it, as well as DiRT. Probably more in the future.
not to mention

DiRT
the new Burnout Paradise MMO Racing game
PGR 4 is around the bend too
NFS ProStreet
SEGA Rally Revo

Nascar '08
I'd rather pay $180 at Dell for the Logitech G25 wheel
ive used both, and while the 360 wheel doesnt have 900 degrees of rotation (but would you ever use that for anything but parallel parking?) or the feedback motors arent as strong; it gives more realistic accurate feedback, especially w/ forza 2. now im not sure how much of that has to do w/ how well they programmed specifically for the wheel, i just know it works really good.

When exactly does 900 degree rotation matter for racing games? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't race cars tuned to offer more steering response with a smaller degree of wheel movement? I've not seen an F1, IndyCar, or NASCAR driver ever have to turn the wheel dramatically to one side or another to even make a hairpin turn.
How good is the lap mount?

Does it feel better than the last gen Madcatz used to? Last wheel I bought was for the DC
I had the same wheel and even picked up the MC2 for use with the PS2/GameCube/Xbox, but that was the same. This wheel doesn't have the tabs that slide out of the side to give a better grip on the lap, but works about as well as the old MC2.

Unfortunately, I find myself driving with one hand and stabilizing the wheel with the other. The wheel is certainly more solid and better built, but without a table or something to mount it to, you may want to test it before plunking down the money.

Thanks for the info...I might have to build a mount for this, if I get it...

I've had great luck with a Tablemate 2, and a bit of Grip It drawer/shelf liner (google it) on the floor to keep things from moving around.

Wow. I took a look for that Tablemate 2, and I don't mean to bash... but it doesn't look like much. :(

I have been looking for the Dell G25 deal on CAG, but I haven't been able to find it lately. And all trips to Dell's site show it at $299. Guess I should have bit when I had the chance.

As for the MS wheel, I'm still tempted... but clearly the best deal was the Buy.com one with free shipping, no tax, and 10% off. Guess I'll have to wait for another go round or something. With Fry's here... $17+ shipping AND tax make it more than Buy.com not even on sale. :(
Here's the stand I made out of 1" PVC, sanded and painted black:

Works great. Holds the wheel steady, though you'd probably have to attach some rubber feet for it to hold on hardwood. I decided not to put supports on the front since I wanna use it as a mini lacrosse net at times. Even without those, the whole thing is pretty damn stable.
How does that hold the base of the wheel? Does the table mount hold on to the PVC pipe?

I would like to make one but lower since I have one of those rocker racing chairs. My biggest problem is keeping the pedals from slipping away from me.
How does that hold the base of the wheel? Does the table mount hold on to the PVC pipe?
Yeah, it clamps onto a center pipe that I wrapped in blue foam ankle tape. The two cross bars support the rest of the wheel. I was surprised at how stable it was with only one clamp point.

It's no PlaySeat, but it's better than the Xcelerator stand I bought off eBay for quite a bit more.

It's surprisingly stable, folds down completely flat to store under the couch, and the wheel (and the Fanatec, and the Logitech, etc.) clamps to it just fine. The only digs I have on it are that it's not infinitely adjustable (has set hooks/holes) and that it slides around too easily if you don't put some non-slip stuff on the floor.

It doesn't flex side to side at all. It will tip forwards somewhat (because the weight of the wheel is off center to the table, plus the small amount of flex in the table itself) but that can be largely alleviated by putting something heavy like a book behind the wheel to counterbalance it.

Oh, and it's useful for stuff other than wheels, and was a $30 experiment from Target. It may not look like much, but it's the first wheel-at-the-couch solution I've been happy with, and I've been buying various attempts for years now.
