• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2025. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

I wouldn't be too thrilled with those "gaming laptops" as a 4060 only gets you in the door for 1080p. No Wukong for you without Series S cuts.

If it can run a game that even PS5 has problems running and can run a native 1080P for Wukong (something that Series S definitely won't be able to handle) then there's no need for quotation marks, it is a gaming laptop.

Eh, I'm treating it as an entry point to modern PC gaming. The gaming quality for the price is way above the Steam Deck, plus its a fully functional PC. I'm not really expecting it to totally replace my consoles for brand new games.

1080p-1440p at 60 FPS is about where we are at on Series X or PS5 unless a game is well optimized. Plus the many, many other benefits of the platform.

My leg is more ed up than we initially thought and I may be immobilized until January or so. Decided I want/need a Steam Deck for the long haul and can't decide if a 64Gb refurb is the way to go (I could buy that today if I wanted) or if I should be patient and save up for either a 512 LCD refurb (anti-glare) or an OLED (I got to test-drive one today and holy shit, they're amazing). Budget is tight due to my injury but I have about $200 in credit card rewards saved up.

Wife loves her limited edition I got for Christmas, but it was a splurge item. It's OLED 512 IIRC but all I've ever heard is get the cheapest solution possible and upgrade memory from there. What I can say is the game changer for her was XBPlay (I think PS has a similar app) which runs I think about $8 and lets you stream Xbox straight to the deck. Works flawlessly and is her favorite way to game now when playing console. Definitely worth checking out.

For what it's worth, I think that's a generic response and support has very little idea how busted Microsoft Rewards is and just says whatever to close their tickets.

All you can do is try again, on different browsers and different devices to see if it goes through.

I’d love this to be true…. But no. This scenario would require consumers to not be dumbasses. The $700 PS5 will sell fine and the inevitable PS6 will cost even more than that and almost certainly will be digital only, and people will still buy it. PlayStation is now an aspirational brand like Apple and they can get away with charging literally anything because there are a whole lot of people who suffer from crippling FOMO when in comes to tech. I mean, even here, a place that is ostensibly populated by cheapasses, people seem to be split 50/50 on this new ridiculous PS5 model.

Meanwhile I just finished Unicorn Overlord. Game of the Decade for me, just immaculate in every way. But it ran fine on my launch model switch. Couldn’t tell you what the frame rate was nor do I care. My point being, Sony is losing people like me who have bought PlayStations for almost their entire lives. But I still don’t see a reason to buy a PS5. Don’t care about teraflops or ray tracing or awards bait cinematic games. Sony exclusives are also now on PC, where I also don’t have to pay a subscription to play online.

But for everyone like me, there’s probably a couple more people who want supposedly eye-melting graphics and who think games like Wukong aren’t painfully dull. Sony will be fine going forward catering to this crowd. Bugmen love their fancy electronics. I’m more worried about what Nintendo does next. Historically speaking-especially in this industry- the market leader tends not to make consumer friendly choices when introducing new hardware. I would not be shocked at all if the switch 2 turns out not be backwards compatible or ends up retailing for close to half a grand. Or worse still- maybe stuff like Smash and Mario Kart go all in on live service models.

In the middle of playing Jusant and Cyberpunk. Jusant is the laid back game I've needed also and the world and design is fantastic. Cyberpunk I'm enjoying, but it's weird because a part of me knows as good as it looks, I know it'll blow me away whenever I get it cheap on PC. Otherwise I enjoy hiding behind bulletproof glass doors and casting fireball spells repeatedly on an enemy. Now I know it's not called fireball, but if I'm making an enemy erupt into flames without weapons, it's a goddamn fireball spell.

I don't care what the phone gamer people do; I know where my bread is buttered. Yes, they've ruined everything. Companies make very bad, consumer-unfriendly decisions now while chasing those vapid profits.

But core gamers are still the Kingmakers.

It's like nobody learned anything from the Xbox fiasco of 2013. Here we are one whole decade later and the same story is still appropriate. If everyone wants to go to digital-only / licenses then core gamers will stop buying those consoles. It is known, Khaleesi. There will always be someone else conducting better business.

Totally agree with this. Nintendo has a recent history of almost always fumbling the ball after a big hit. Wii U flopping for multiple reasons (13 million) after the smash hit Wii (100 mill+). Launching the 3DS at $350 and having to slash the price to $160 because people weren't buying it. It ended up doing well enough with 75 million sold, but that's way less than the 155 million the DS did. Not complaining, because I was a day one adopter for all of the above & enjoyed them. Lol! I'm very cautious for what comes next. Maybe for once Nintendo will take the K.I.S.S approach and have simply a stronger Switch. They have done some weird things recently that have me worried though.

I am too. As long as Nintendo does not try to get cute and just gives us a more powerful Switch with backwards compatibility. Maybe whatever dock they have can add to the power of the handheld so when playing on a TV it can look even better. Totally agree with this. Nintendo has a recent history of almost always fumbling the ball after a big hit. Wii U flopping for multiple reasons (13 million) after the smash hit Wii (100 mill+). Launching the 3DS at $350 and having to slash the price to $160 because people weren't buying it. It ended up doing well enough with 75 million sold, but that's way less than the 155 million the DS did. Not complaining, because I was a day one adopter for all of the above & enjoyed them. Lol! I'm very cautious for what comes next. Maybe for once Nintendo will take the K.I.S.S approach and have simply a stronger Switch. They have done some weird things recently that have me worried though.

I guess it comes down to whether the Switch 2 will be powerful enough to play 3rd party games and whether they will do backwards compatibility. Don't get me wrong, the Switch released a lot of great exclusives but they also spent an entire generation re-selling people old games from the Wii U because no one bought that system. (except me lol)

Using Wikipedia, each of Nintendo's consoles sold fewer units than its predecessor until the Wii.

Can't really make a straight comparison of the Gameboy to the GBA, since you have to take into consideration the 12 year gap between the original Gameboy's release and the GBA's, as well as how to count the Gameboy Color. Wikipedia lists the GBA at 81.5 million and the GB and GBC combined at 118.69, though it notes that the various GB iterations before the Color released sold about 64.4 million. Don't know if the 54.29 million difference is all GBCs, but I'd be really surprised if over 17 million of them were GBs / GB Pockets / GB Lights. So most likely a dip from the GB to the GBC, then an increase to the GBA, a huge leap to the DS (154 million), then a drop for the 3DS, though still respectable at 76 million. And if you don't want to split out the GBC, keep in mind that it had better specs and games that couldn't play on the older GBs, so it would be kind of like including the Series consoles with the Xbox One iterations.

Pretty big gap between the GB/C total and the GBA, so I doubt the GBA could've caught that even if Nintendo had continued with their "third pillar" plans with the DS 3 years after the GBA released. But since the DS started "printing money", strategies changed.

So there really isn't a pattern here. Consoles had 3 drops, huge spike, major drop, huge spike. Handhelds had a most likely dip, increase, huge spike, drop. (Should the Switch count on the handheld side as well, ending with a spike?)

If you type in the UPC into Google it comes up the MSI Z790 motherboard. On the other hand though the MSRP of it is $239.99, which is way over the Amazon laptop listing. So in short I have no idea, but I'm expecting the worst and hoping we aren't getting mailed a severed body part and somehow involved in a murder investigation.
